So I really want to learn to sew. Do you know that everytime I wear one of my slings out in public at least one person asks me where I got it. Can you imagine the possibilities if my answer was, "Oh I make them, would you like my number?"

This one lady making "scandi style" mei tais is selling them for over $150.

So, that's what I'm making today. A "scandi style" mei tai.

Here's what I'm starting with.

The 2 colored fabrics are for the front and back of the panel. I wanted a reversible one. The beige is for the straps. All 22 feet of them.

So in a little while I'm going over to my sister's(she sews) and getting started.

Thanks for the Welcome Back BH! I might come stalk ya, ya never know what a bbn might do.:rolleyes1

alrighty, so here's some pics. Dd did great at the beginning of week. She was sitting top ten in the nation at first. (900 contestants, so we thought that was pretty cool) anyway, at the end of the week she literally dropped her elbow an inch and threw off her whole run and she got passed up in the average. still proud of her though.

AND our camera deleted our pics on Friday. We left the Friday before, took pics all week, and then the following Friday all of our pics were gone. We took it to two different camera places and they said that for some reason all of our pics had been deleted. We thought maybe the kids did it, but then I took some more pics Friday morning and when I went to review them later, they were gone too. We took it back to the camera place and they said our camera malfunctioned. We had to buy a new one.

I was very sad and frustrated b/c all of those memories are gone. But you cant keep Pollyanna down long:rolleyes: , so I tried to take as many pics as I could with the time we had left. Here are a few.

I ran out of hair to braid and toenails to paint since the slumber parties were few and far between, so the poor horse had to endure some "primping" Dh walked over and (jokingly-kinda) said "I cannot believe what you did to this poor ranch horse. He's worked the first ten years of his life, living on a ranch out west, chasing cattle all day, and then you two get him and turn him into a sissy. Braiding his hair and putting glitter on his butt" I informed him that technically those aren't braids, and it's 4th of July, we could all use some glitter on our butts to celebrate the holiday. RIGHT?

*poof*
they did not know I was going to snap this pic. He was telling her good luck. awwwww.

*poof*

Dd did get chosen to carry a flag in the 4th of July rodeo. That was pretty cool.

we climbed to the top of a volcano one day, that was pretty cool. there is an ice cave at the bottom of the volcano. it stays 31 degrees year 'round. it's only a few feet down. could a biologist please explain this to me???

what kind of vacation is it, without food?;) The ice cream picture isn't great. HEY it was windy and stuff. BUT I wanted to show PJ my sunburn. I haven't had one since that one time years ago at WDW when my nose burned. Do you see how my cheeks are kinda pink? Boy, that hurt.

*poof*

We stopped at Cadillac ranch just b/c we saw it and the kids said "let's go." I guess they saw it on that show with the Duggers. You spray paint the cadillacs and stuff. It's in the middle of nowhere. just like us!

*poof*

In case you missed it, we stopped here too. Cuz the kids wanted to go inside the arch. and we are fly by the seat of our pants kind of people.

Ya know, BbN, come to think of it, one can never have too much butt glitter!

Now I want ice cream!!!! ;)

Gorgeous fabric combination!
I totally love your attachment parenting style.
I bet you have very calm, well adjusted babies.

I had a few styles of "Over the shoulder baby holders" which I always wore.

I had some seriously calm babies! (Dunno what happened to them...LOL)

4 of my daycare buddies called in sick today. Over the weekend they all had the tummy bug.

My kids are so far goog.

I think we are immune to this or we are exempt cause I don't know how Tim could handle the stomach flu after surgery. OIY:scared:

The coolest news is, my BFF called and asked me if I wanted to go to Bon Jovi tonight?

UH YEA?:cool1:

Her boss gave her some of their suite tickets. I can't wait.

Also thought I'd check in. Storms are coming this way.

AND Maddy started crawling over the weekend.

I'm seriously enjoying Day 4 of my long holiday weekend. Just chilling out at home. We had some loud thunderboomers move through earlier this afternoon.

Mony!!! Great score on the concert tickets! HAVE FUN :woohoo:

I lucked out today and was able to find a replacement hot tub cover at a dealer in Jackson! I had called the factory and they tipped me off about the store in Jackson. I paid for it over the phone and hubby is picking it up on Wednesday night. Phew.

BH - Glad you're feeling better.

Cool fabrics, MommyP :)

Lex - Are you missing Emily yet??!

ANNOUNCEMENT.....

I accepted a full-time job today! :yay:

I interviewed with them a couple of times and really liked the people in the office. It's very family-oriented and it's only 3ish blocks from my house. I gave my 2 weeks notice at church and will start my new job on July 22nd.

Hi All, so who is watching the Bachelorette? lets take a poll on who she is going to pick Jason, Jessie or the mystery man?

Babynurse-- your dd looks so much like Julia Roberts...beautiful. You also look like one of the kids instead of the mom....:lmao: Thanks for sharing.

BH-- so many rumours saying it is Jesse.

Sandy -- I have been reading the boards too and did notice the pink flowers change to white flowers behind her at the rose ceremony.:confused3 This was a the begining when they showed her waiting.

Lexi-- on the new job. Does this mean you are giving up the second job too.

Mony -- you will be busier now with her on the move.

I am suppose to be at Nicholas baseball game but the sun was too much for him today and he got sick so we came home and put him to bed. He has a headache and stomache too so I hope it isn't more. We have a game tomorrow night too.

come to think of it, one can never have too much butt glitter!

Now where IS that Tag Fairy? :lmao:

BBN, sorry about your pics! That completely sucks! But thanks for sharing the ones you posted. La Familia Enfermera Loca is stunning (but we knew that).

Mony, another YAY for Maddy! Now quick, put everything up on a high shelf! :rotfl:

Thanks for all your kind words guys. Have a great night!

Oh yeah, Marita: We dvr'd Hell's Kitchen, but when we got back it malfunctioned and we didnt get to see the last episode. (not my week for technology I guess) I heard Petrozza won though.

Babynurse -- Hell's Kitchen is not over yet that is tomorrow. We don't know who won. He just won the last challenge.

Hi everyone!

Fly by post, no time, too much work!

BBN, WB and great pics sorry you lost so many.

Mony
, Yay ( or sympathies) for Maddy crawling. I remember chatting with Moo over tea the Grand that Mony from the peeps thread was expecting, LOL (I think that was before you joined the moovers) It was January 2007, I think. ( OK, call it gossiping if you must, LOL, but it was on the official boards)

Lexi congrats on the new job! Does that mean you can drop the one you hate? ( I am EXTREMLY JEALOUS for it being 3ish blocks from home)

Sorry if I forgot anything important, I am brain dead. Got my target variance fror next year's budget down for $600,000 to $137,000, most of which I can explain. Budget review is Wednesday morning.

I have a sink full of dishes I need to get rid of, I dont want DD to come home to that tomorrow night. But I sure am no mood for it...... She won't be home till midnight or so, but I cant take the chance to wait till tomorrow night.

ETA: Put most of the dishes in the dishwasher, except a couple of plates and a frying pan (which needs handwashing anyway) Yes, I relaize everyone is really excited to knw this!

w00t on the new job, Lex!

I was MIA most of this evening because out Internet was down, then DD called and we chatted for quite a while.

Marita, I recall that conversation! :lmao: Glad you're figuring out your budget stuff.

I'm not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. It sure was nice having an extra long holiday weekend even though I mostly just relaxed!
