Everybodee- go play Tuesday's riddle. Don't whine. Just cry me a river, build me a bridge and get ovah there to play. I am leading and the tour will be educational. ;)

RobIn- I laughed out loud at the dog's tooth in your jar of Memorabilia.

Yeah, uh, it's not actually a jar. It's more of a "spot" on top of our 6-foot tall computer stand that no one ever sees. Like I said, lazy, lazy, lazy Tooth Fairy.

I just never actually had seen a loose dog's baby tooth before (I knew they lost them but usually they swallow them or lose them outside or whatever) and hated to toss it.

no jar? not even a Coca-Cola bottle? I am disappointed. Did the Tooth Fairy leave anything for the dog?

Ok, that made ME laugh out loud.

Yes, since finding the dog's tooth was so rare, the Tooth Fairy left $100 under her couch cushion.

We save teeth here to...only because Hannah's came in the little treasure chest from the dentist.

Nicholas ate his first one with his lunch at school. The kids doesn't chew his food. The second one he was so afraid of doing that again he was at dinner and spit it across the table at us, blood and all. The thing was we were on the Disney Magic and it was formal night....:sad2:

Celery-- :woohoo: on the wait loss. I was looking at your pictures again on you trip report and can't believe you are the same person you have come a long way.

P.J.-- Good Luck today!!

Twinkie-- stopped by the riddle already...actually knew that one....

UMA-- how are your walls coming along. I will show my kitchen when it is all done, I promise.

I am waiting for my counter tops to come as we speak. I hate when they give you a time of between 11:30 -3:00.

Marita-- all those early mornings and stressfull weeks of work did you in. Glad you sleep in.

Moo-- your a busy woman, you will need this vacation!

That's funny, NAB!!

Thanks! I contemplated going to work late. But last time I did that, I got a little talk about showing up at 11:30, so I thought fine, I'm not going at all:snooty:

I keep looking at the clock and wondering what DS is doing now. He was planning on checking in t the base around 11am today. Somehow I am thinking of it as reporting to prison. You can go in, but you can't get out..... At least for the first 6 weeks. An AF site I looked at a while ago had a Q&A section.
One was about bringing your car. They said "'some people bring it for extra storage. And there will not be any free time to take it anywhere for the first six weeks" Great!
Luckily, the last 6 weeks will be better (or so I am told).

Lexi, I am sure he could call in private (from his car even), but I think he was more concerned about figuring out the lay of the land first. A friend of his who started the same program a couple of months ago texted him at 1am, saying he finally had time then....

Moo,, hope you feel better and you got your drugs of choice to go on the trip with you

Tim went to PA on Monday, Scranton, and this morning they wake up and the boss says, we are not needed here so we are driving to Boston. It's a 280 mile drive from Scranton. Then they have to make the drive back to Scranton to catch their flights home.

Tell him to wave to me when he gets to Beantown!

We save teeth too. Creepy, I know. But the Safety Officer at my kids' elementary school (Officer Moon) told all the kids that teeth can be used in a child ID kit in the event that a child gets lost. (DNA, I guess.) So Boris and Natasha each have a small box containing a lock of hair, any baby teeth lost thus far, and a card with their fingerprints. The last item was courtesy of Officer Moon's Safety Information Day at the school. Everyone got the chance to be fingerprinted, and the fingerprint cards were given to parents' immediately, to avoid confusion. The ID Box is also supposed to be updated each birthday with a recent close-up photo.

I know all this sounds a bit frightening, but Mr. Lalijack is a big stickler for kid safety.

If they make it unscathed to adulthood, maybe I can use the teeth to make windchimes?

I'm KIDDING, people!

ACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCccccck!!!1

1. You really do NOT want to ever need DNA. I have the shivers just thinking about it. I have the child ID kits but I never got around to filling them out.
2. I do take a picture of my kids every morning at WDW at the first bus stop so I would have a good description of said child and clothes should I temporarily get lost.
3. Officer MOON? bwhahahahahaha. I have a good story concerning an Officer Smoke but it isn't the kind of thing you post on the internet for your 1000000 closest friends.
4. Windchimes?!?

I like the pooka shell necklace idea better.

Twink- I have empty kits, too. WE SUCK at this mothering stuff.

I take pictures of my kids at WDW/DL too every morning. So maybe for one week a year we're not half bad. I did write my cell phone # on their little filthy hands too, as an extra precaution. But Sharpee washes off with Splash Mtn. water. :confused3

No link Twinks!? You are making me needlessly work here.

The only officer I encountered was when I was 19 and shouldn't have been driving. Instead of hauling my booty to jail, he called my parents to come get me.

I honestly don't know if that was a better thing.

Who wants to see the funny pictures me and Mal are taking of ourselves with the web cam? pm me your email if you want. That's all I've figured out to do so far.

Mal's turn to type: MALORIE

I am having trouble with dis links. Anyone else? It won't copy them to my clipboard.

Go to games. Look for "Tuesdays Somewhat late riddle" Click.

We did that. I also made 2" x 4" (or so) "ID cards" with their name, their parents names, both our cell phone numbers, the resort we were staying at (didn't know the room number in advance obviously), the dates of our stay, and I think departure flight information (in case they got lost at the airport -- not that we would leave without them) and then laminated the card to hold off the ravages of Splash Mountain.

How am I supposed to play without a link? *sigh* I'll try. stinkin' dial up.

:boat: :umbrella:

I am playing obsessed mom here and reading up on a long thread on AF Basic training. Just ran across this gem:

Glasses. You cannot wear contact lenses during basic training. You also cannot wear your civilian glasses, once you have been issued your official government-issue glasses. GI glasses are not pretty to look at. In fact, most people call them "BC Glasses," or "birth control glasses," on the basis that nobody has ever been known to "get lucky" while wearing them. During your first couple of days of basic training, you'll undergo a complete eye examination. If you require glasses to have 20/20 vision, you will be issued BC Glasses (takes a few days after the examination to get them). BC Glasses have thick, hard-plastic frames, with thick, hard-plastic lenses (very hard to break). Think of the movie, [Revenge of the Nerds.

Well, good thing nobody expects DS to meet a girl there anyway, LOL

Oh, this one:

First Phone Call. At the end of "Zero Week," most likely on Sunday afternoon, you'll get your first opportunity to call home. This will be a very short phone call (only about 3 minutes), enough time to pass on your mailing information. Warn your family/loved ones in advance about this phone call. You will not sound "well." Your voice will be shaky, and you'll sound like you're on the verge of tears. During this particular stage of training, you'll swear that T.I.'s are around every corner, under every table, just waiting for you to do something wrong so they can yell at you for it. This "scared rabbit" feeling transfers to your telephone voice. The bad thing is that you won't have time to tell them that you're really okay. You've got enough time to spit out your address, then you have to give the phone up to the next recruit in line. So, make sure your family is ready for this. Otherwise, they may spend the next several days thinking they made a mistake about letting their "baby" go away to basic training.

Evening, Moovers.

Today was a loooong day! I observed at the school, had 2 interviews, was fingerprinted, filled out forms, asked to provide a baby tooth, you know, the whole 9 yards! Anyway, I was offered the job but I told the woman I need some time to think it over. :thumbsup2 There are 3 recent Xavier grads teaching at this school and a goog friend of mine is interviewing at the school on Friday. I'm guessing she gets a job offer too, but either way, at least I would kinda sorta know people. Thanks for all the goog luck wishes! :goodvibes

Twink
...thanks for reminding me about grad school. Oh joy. Now join me in the job search. We can compare resumes, transcripts, and essays, oh my!!

Monica...I don't get the carelessness in college classes, either. When I don't study for exams it's because I don't need to, not just because I'm being lazy. People will be failing classes and then bragging that they didn't study, laughing about it, etc. :confused3 Drives me insane.

Cel...dangit, I missed the cupcake party AGAIN??! Maybe tomorrow?

Utah...yes, I am considering moving to LooUhVuhl because it is dangerously close to Tennessee. I have decided to base my life decisions on how close to my DIS friends I will be. Lexi, will I be closer to you, too, if I'm in LooUhVull?
And I know this has already been discussed, but I skimmed....do we still call you Utah in Tennessee?

Moo...perhaps yet again my skimming powers have come into play, but is your DD going to Disney with you?

Marita...are you feeling better? Did you enjoy some bum-laying today?

Hi to Rob, Lynette, and anyone else I may have missed! Hope you all had a lovely Tuesday. :)

I was also able to successfully stalk a bbn this evening. All I can say at risk of incriminating myself and my fellow trollop is that there was a Victoria's Secret involved that will never be the same. :rolleyes1 I hear trolloping is set to continue down in the hotel lobby, so we gotta run. ;)

Marita, stop reading IMMEDIATELY! You'll only drive yourself nuts!

PJ, congrats on yet another job offer :thumbsup2

Yes, I did bum-laying and got a pedicure too. I got a girl who was obviously new, and v e r y s l o o o o w! But I dont mind with pedicures. I read Twilight and enjoyed my vibrating chair and general pampering.
If I get her for fill on Saturday I will REFUSE, though.

Victoria's secrect play??? Do tell!

Lynette, it's like watching a train reck, I have to read, LOL

OK, I now have bronchitis meds on board. Root canals are not exactly fun :rolleyes1 But my tooth sure feels better now. Thanks to a couple of wonderfu coworkers that helped me out, I got my stuff at work moved into the other office and, hopefully, my computer will be moved by tomorrow morning :)

I just will be at work for a short while tomorrow morning. Long enough to do my timesheet and a couple other odds and ends before heading out for meetings. Then, home around midnight and up and at 'em early the next morning :scared:

Cel - Are you going to post a pic of your dress before you leave??!

LOVED today's tooth stories. Rob, I never was able to find any of our dog's baby teeth :confused3 They go off to visit their "cousins" tomorrow night!!! :dogdance: :dog2: :dog: pug: :goofy: pluto:

I need to pack their bag tonight too

I'm too lame-o to play the riddle today, Twink!

Soooo, a no-DH-trip, HUH? Let me ponder that for a moment...

:cheer2: :yay:  :cloud9: :rolleyes1 :cool2:
Well, part of it, anyway! My sister and her friend are continuing on to the Tampa area to visit a friend after dropping me off. I'm trying to talk them into sticking around for dinner at DTD or somewhere before they continue on their way.

I was dead tired this morning, don't know why. Anyway, didn't get up till 10:15, so I called in sick:sick:
You've had quite a bit of stress lately, Marita, with a daughter graduating and your son going into the service! No wonder you're tired  Glad you took the day off!!!

UMA-- how are your walls coming along. I will show my kitchen when it is all done, I promise.

I am waiting for my counter tops to come as we speak. I hate when they give you a time of between 11:30 -3:00.

Moo-- your a busy woman, you will need this vacation!
Looking forward to seeing the finished remodel! :thumbsup2

I am definitely feeling the need for this vacation!

CONGRATULATIONS, PJ!!! :cheer2: :dance3:

Nope, my daughter isn't going to Disney - she needs to start her summer job right away after her dad helps her move her stuff a couple hours west. I'm going to try to talk her into joining me for an early December trip!
