Just talked to DD, they are settled in a hotel for the ight in Tennessee. Whew. I can relax for the night anyway. Of course she was annoyed at me for calling again.

Did everyone get their naps today?! ;)

I did!

Chilly, rainy day here so I just vegged out at home and read and played on my laptop. When hubby got home this evening after running the roads with his dad, we went out to dinner at Red Lobster. Yum! I took him out to dinner as a thank you for installing the bedroom air conditioner. 80ish yesterday and Thursday, 50ish today  It was SO hot in the bedroom the last couple nights - it was nice to be able to get the room cooled down last night!

Nabbie - Have you recovered from the sleepover party? :goodvibes

Marita - Your hubby and DH were smart to stop early for the night. We always wait until too late to stop when we are traveling and it becomes really difficult to find a decent hotel.

Marita Hope you can get some rest, and relaxation, its hard when things are different -

Moo I got a forced nap in ( I sat in a chair and fell asleep!)

DS was over, dropped his dog off - he'll be back tomorrow, and will stay here for the time being. He's having a hard time with her no nonsense business approach to this - everything is in her name if ds doesnt sign the papers she is going to take his car (its in her name!) so sad. Just sad!

he is also upset at my lack of housekeeping skilz. He opened the door to the bedroom he'll have to stay in (long story, but our bed broke, we were given a new king sized bed, set it up in his room - but for a year I was sleeping on the floor on an air mattress...!) the small room - which is a storage room - he opened the door and cried...

so, it will be cleaned tomorrow - I promise.

meantime - these dogs need to settle down!

Moo, I sure did take a nap, but it was latetish, not even sure what time and I woke up at 12:15AM :scared1: My body clock is all messed up.

Post from DD on FB:

Best sign of the day "Strippers Truck Stop, As Seen on Jerry Springer" .... Bonus, my father car dancing to "Gangsters Paradise"

It has begun!

we are confirmed in a preferred studio at Boardwalk for Marathon weekend...

Here is DS dog - Teddy - he really is a BIG teddy bear, wants to cuddle on your lap, he doesnt bark, doesnt pull on the leash, almost caught a squirrel! (what was that squirrel thinking, he ran across the path and Teddy lunged forward, low tree and squirrel and dog were nose to nose! :scared1:)

So got a 40 min walk in!

You just wait Half Marathon, I'm going to beat you yet! :wizard:

Sandy - Thanks and sending HUGS:hug: and PD back your way and to your DS! Um, from experience get your shoes and your drivers license when the sky turns green. It is NOT good I'll tell ya! ::yes::

Twinks - Glad all went well. I'll keep praying for the princess! princess:

Marita
- PD to your DH and DD.

Mony - I am SO proud of you!!! You are going to be a fabulous teacher! After a year of being a Special Ed. Aide, I have a new appreciation for Special Ed. teachers. God Bless You!

As Sandy said, I have our 'Senior Sunday' program tonight at church. The Senior boys conduct the service and guess what my son signed up to do.........that's right PREACH!! :scared1: Although he has worked many hours on his speech and has practiced it over and over with the youth minister, so I know he will do well. He wouldn't practice in front of us because I think he wants it to be a surprise. ;) I am SOOOOOO proud of him!!! I just know I am going to cry! The minister got up and just mentioned the program this morning and I started to get misty eyed. Please say a prayer for me that I don't become to big of a mess and embarrass my son. :goodvibes

Oh Sandy that is one cute fur baby! If I didn't already have three, I would take him. Although my girls might not take to kindly to a boy. :rotfl2:

Allie, what a proud day for you. Go ahead and cry, it's in the book. You have a right to.

Sandy, I agree, seems like a very nice dog. Still doesnt make up for years and years of taking care of one though. It's a huge commitment.
And congrats for signing up for the marathon. you did it before, you can do it again.

Hubby and DD were in Kansas City, Mis, as of last count. I'll be so happy when they get there. I dont like this costant worry. Did

Instead of cleaning the house so far, I did work. BAAH! I should go to the grocery store too. Did I mention I hate shopping?

Hello, friends! Long time no post! I've been thinking about y'all, and took the time to read back today.

Allie, so glad that you and your family are okay! What a horrible situation your poor state is in! I've been keeping all of y'all in my prayers.

Sandy, prayers for your son too. Seems to me that they only just got married...what a shame!

Marita, I can totally relate to the stress of wondering if your DD and DH are okay during their grand adventure to Montana. I am definitely not a fan of uncertainty.

Moo, I'm sad that you felt the need to delete your retirement ticker. At this rate, I'll be 154 before I can retire, if politicians in my state keep up their spending and taking good care of their "friends". :sad2:

NAB, glad you survived Hannah's sleepover b-day party. How old is she now?

Twink, prayers for your DD. It's amazing how resilient kids are, isn't it? Glad she's doing well!

Pumba, welcome home from your trip! Sounds like you had a great time!

Speaking of trips, it looks like a trip to WDW is off the table for us this year. DH and I decided to re-do the living room, and the furniture I chose is reaaaaallllllyyy spendy. Plus, Boris will be getting his braces on in the next few months. Even with our dental insurance and DH's flexible spending account, there'll be some out-of-pocket expenses. So I've set my sights on a trip for summer 2012, which is at least in keeping with our every-other-year plan. Meanwhile, I am spearheading the trip planning for my brother and his GF to take their combined 5 kids to WDW this October. That'll have to do for now.

Also, in case y'all didn't see over yonder, we got the kids a kitten almost 2 weeks ago. She's 1/2 Maine Coon and 1/2 Ragdoll. She'll be 10 weeks old tomorrow, and she's the cutest lil thing! Thankfully, she was completely litter box trained when we got her. The dog has been amazingly patient and gentle with her. And she's got the sweetest temperament! We named her Belle.

Other than that, not much to tell around here. Job is still amazing, DH and the kids are well. I am thankful!

Lynt, we won't be vacationing at Disney either this year (again).Bathroom remodels and unplanned trip to Montana (twice) cut into the budget.

Hubby and DD are spending the night in Souix City, Iowa tonight. Hubby thinks another 2 days of travel.

DD's FB status update tonight:
"If this is America's heartland I prefer living in America's groin."

LYNT: Very cute kitty name and I saw the pictures.

We are pet free, had two dogs way back and I like not having to pick up poop, clean up torn up garbage, fixing chewed up furnitures, and not having to worry about letting the dog out when we decide to go somewhere or who will take care of the dog if we want to go somewhere over night.

Plus vet fees, food, etc, it adds up.

My kids would love a dog, and so would I, but I'd have to really think about it for awhile before I made my decision.

Oh and dog hair!!!!! Plus I worry about if Matt will be allergic to a new pet. He gets allergic to dogs who are the slobbery type.

Allie: Martia said it right, you are entitled to get all blubbery. You done good! We just have really big hearts I guess.

Anyone as disappointed as I was to see James get voted off AI?

Started to apply for some sub jobs today and I need referrals and a purdy resume. Started on those. Funny to be working for the same person the last 14 years, me!

Have a great week!

Thanks, Mony! Oh, and I forgot to say congratulations on passing your tests! I know that with your sense of compassion and the education you're working so hard on, you'll be a phenomenal teacher! Now go git a snazzy substitute teaching job!

Well, I made it! :worship::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2::dance3: Didn't shed a tear! Well, got teary eyed when there was a presentation to our former youth minister. He has been promoted to our Family Minister. He has three little kids, and we took up a collection and we are sending them to..................................................DISNEY WORLD!!!!! :cheer2:

He was in tears and so were the rest of us! But they were happy tears! My son did an excellent job tonight! I am one proud mama! :goodvibes

It was moving tonight when the boy leading the closing prayer prayed for all the tornado victims, when he and his family were one of them!

I am getting teary eyed reading about them praying for all the tornado victims and floods......sniffle sniffle......

Okey I dont want to get the cart before the horse......but ....we think we have found the house.....we saw it on Saturday and then two hours after ..hubby and the furnace man went back to give us an estimate on a new furnace.....we should get the price today and if it is within the budget......make a bid on the house.....it is an estate sale so if they accept our offer........we could close in two weeks....so hold on to our hats......this place is a split level and has three bedrooms and big playroom down stairs.....also two fireplaces in the living room and the playroom.......it is pretty but scares me to death with wood fires......then there are two more rooms downstairs...one for washer and dryer and then one for the guys work shop.....then the garage too....needs paint and new carpets......and EVENTUALLY a new bathroom.......yellow toilet and double sinks and a yellow tub do not do it....also I think it needs new piping there....but hubby said no biggy.....fingers crossed.

have a good day as it is RAINING here again and should rain all week.......aint life grand.....hahaha....will do some work with ava helping..

Allie-- what a proud moment indeed. :goodvibes

Sandy-- cute dog , but I am with others , alot of work. Yay on your doing another marathon!

Mony-- I haven't worked in 14 years either , I would be scared to death to start looking now....heck all the places I worked have either closed down or moved to the States. I would have no references.

Marita-- Glad your dd and hubby check in with you. Sounds like they are having fun.

Lynette-- I heard you were looking for a kitten , will have to go check out the pics.

Pumba--Hope you get your house, you will have to do work on any house I think unless you build one and even those can have flaws.

It is raining and cooled right down today. Nicholas has his first baseball game tonight so we shall see if it gets rained out. Rained pretty heavy over night too.

Good morning, everyone! It's a really damp, dreary Monday here, and we are expected to have rain and cool temps in the high 50s for the next TEN days! Urgh...when will the weather get better? These kinds of days make me want to stay in my jammies on the couch with a giant cup of coffee. Had to d-r-a-g myself out of bed today.

NAB, I was also happy to see Boston Rob win Survivor last night. During his first time on the show, I cringed every time he spoke because his accent is so thick. He sounds like he has a mouthful of marbles! But he's kinda grown on me, and I was happy to see him finally win. That Phillip was an obnoxious boor right up until the end, wasn't he?

While I'm here, I thought I'd post a couple pics of Belle. Did y'all know that she's named after my favorite Princess? princess:

In this one, you can really see how little she is in comparison to the hand in the photo (that's our friend Kevin):

Well, gotta get myself ready for work. See you later, gators!

Allie :grouphug: How sweet it must be! So glad your son was able to complete that - what an accomplishment indeed! A very proud mom and dad moment to be sure!

Nab Baseball - it is so very chilly here - and wet... its not a real rain, but more of a "spitting" at you! LOVED that Rob won - I wasnt sure if I was on board with him at first, but when they won those chairs and he was going around finding the immunity clues, and idol - I thought he'd have a chance, and he made me laugh, so I jumped on the Rob Bandwagon! But danged if I didnt have a weird dream - and I blame Survivor (I went more on a mission trip - but survivor style! so weird to have Jeff Probst in my dream narrating it! :rotfl2:)

Mony continued good luck and prayers - subbing is no worries, you just have to let the kids know you love teaching (laughing at yourself, enjoying being there helps - letting them know its their room, community, rules, I'm there to support them - so I often read the notes the teacher left and ask them - what grades are you subbing for? This works for K-8th grade)

Marita looking forward to the progress report - and get your nails done, and stop doing housework!! Stop and get a sandwich and you'll have meals for you for a week - or make some great German food and store it for when they return... (I never run out of things to do to keep me from cleaning!! :rotfl:)

Lynette saw the cute furbaby pictures over there - I think kittens are a lot les work than the 2 dogs I have here!

Pumba house shopping is stressful! Good luck on this one, it sounds lovely - hope you dont have to burn the wood to keep warm! We have a woodburning firplace, I dont want to clean it - so we dont use it - plus it takes out the warm house air and sends it up the chimney!

and our World Wide Web has drawn us all closer - we all "know" someone! At church Saturday (knitting group) one of the ladies said, "now Sandy, is this your friend, or one of your virtual friends?" I smiled and said Allie was a real friend, always there for me, cheering me when I needed it most - we've met and we talk on the phone- that's not virtual, that's real! :goodvibes

Lastly - started training - started a Pre trip - logged in 1.4 miles.. 32 min I think - I have a long way to go before I sleep - in Disney.. I see a sweeper in my future... :sad2:

Lynette-- Belle is sooooo cute! And tiny. Do you mean you don't talk like that , you must have an accent?

I don't like the Redemption Island twist and they are bringing it back in the fall. :sad2: That girl looked mighty shocked when David proposed , thought for sure she was going to say no.

Lynette That Phillip was so confusing- was it a personna he wanted to create (he said he wanted to play the part of villian so they would take him to the finals, then he'd give a speech and win the million) then it would seem as if he forgot that strategy and was reverting to something else -

but it was very entertaining when he found the feather and found his shorts! :rotfl2:

Nab I didnt sneak in - Lynette did!! :rotfl:

I didnt like Redemption Island on the whole - if they had ended it with the merge, that was fine - but instead of the "players" playing, we had to watch the "losers" play... What other show did this? Its a copy from something - I'm too tired to remember!

Thanks, Sandy! And yes, she is a LOT less work than our dog, Mojo. I can't imagine having 2 dogs....too much work for me!

As for online friends, I refer to mine as my "imaginary friends", as some other people here do. My brother thinks I'm weird for befriending people I've never met. My answer to that is that all friends were once people we didn't know. Right? :thumbsup2

I have worked hard (haaahd) to get overcome my Boston accent, but when I am with my childhood friends, it seems to creep back. When I speak to customers or vendors at work, they almost always comment on my lack of a Boston accent. So I guess it depends...if your ear is used to hearing a heavy Boston accent, mine pales in comparison. But if the local accent is not familiar to you, you might catch it more when I talk.

I told DH last night that I really disliked the Redemption Island twist, so I'm kinda disappointed that they're doing it again next season. As far as I'm concerned, if you lose, you go home...the END!

I think he would have liked the weirdness to be a persona, but it was more of himself than he would admit. I expected a big speech from Phillip at the finale too, but whatever. :confused3
