Happy Friday, everyone!

Mony - Gorgeous day here for us :) TGIF.

Sandy - Yay on your DD's upcoming confirmation! Milk Mothers Day for all it's worth!!!

With our new governor, there's no way I'll be able to retire when I'm 55 so I deleted my ticker :( We're waiting to hear what kind of concessions we'll have to make. Now I'm thinking I'll have to wait until I'm 62 and SS kicks in because we have a lot of things we need to do to update the house once it's paid off in a couple years. Boo!

Marita - Yikes on that L-O-N-G drive for your hubby. Oral surgeon stuff does NOT sound fun! But at least your OOP isn't super bad. I have an eye exam coming up soon and that always costs lots of $$ if I need/want new glasses. Thank goodness for my medical spending account.

Nabbie - I haven't heard too much lately from my friend regarding the cruise. I think I may have scared her when she asked how much our pre-cruise stay at WDW would be at that time of year (I made an estimate based on the going rate for points rental). At least I'm having fun reading the cruise forum and trip reports! Has your family ever done the Fish Extenders gift exchange (it took me a while to figure out what the heck that was)? If not, maybe we could do it amongst ourselves. I think it would be really fun to give some trinkets to your kids during the cruise :goodvibes

Moo-- I have been reading some reports too. This will be new for me being a different ship. I almost sounds confusing with the the decks. The Magic and the Wonder are the same but the resturants are different names. This one they are on different floors as well as the kids clubs for Nicholas and Hannah.

I have not done the Fish Extender exchange before only because room in the suitcases are limited. I herer people bring a suit case just for them and some could be pretty costly depending on how many are in the exchange.

Sorry to here about your retirement. Hubby can retire sooner but probably won't because of the kids schooling and probably house reparis as well.

Sandy-- a little mothers guilt never hurt anyone.

Marita-- I got my wisdom teeth out in my 20's , actually they only took two out left two . Hope that doesn't come back and bite me.

Hmmm, Nabbie - I didn't think about the suitcase issue. Good point!

My distance vision has gone downhill a bit since I had the Lasik done, so I need glasses for driving and if we go to a show, sports event, etc. I think part of it has to do with having monovision (one eye for close-up and one for distance), so it brings my overall distance vision down but I don't need to wear reading glasses.

It's probably just as well that I can't retire early. My project team at work would not be happy with me and I need to have enough $$ for vacationing!

Moo, the money issue is always a sticking point with retiring. DIsney just change their pension policiy for salaried people, no more pensions for anyone hired in 2012. Even retireing at 62 we dont get full benefits, not till 67, but now way in HELK am I working till 67. Now I just have to figure out what to do with my time when I get there, another 3 years and 2 months. Unless I decide the heck with it all and go ring up groceries at Publix part time just to get out of the house until I can move to some retirement community and play bocci and chit chat in a sewing circle.

Hey all! I posted a video over yonder. It was taken just a couple of miles west of my house. Just thought I would share. There is just sooooo much devastation around here, and all the way down to Tuscaloosa over to Birmingham, and over to the GA state line. Please continue to pray for our state!

Allie You always see the storm chaser's videos - but when it hits close to home, the videos have a huge scare factor! I'm so glad you and your family made it through, and I still im in awe that you remembered to put shoes on before "hunkering" down in the safe rooms!

Moo Sorry to hear things are changing - I do understand, I think we may be able to retire when we are 80 - everywhere the "powers that be" (ie government) are shocked and appalled at pensions that they have to dole out - and they want to stop those payments and get the states and country out of the red (but of course dont touch the legislatures pensions and health benefits) Raise your hand if you want what they have!!

Nab y'all are planning a cruise!! :hippie: I fear sea sickness!

Gal that was a wise investment - I remember when dh had his taken out - they told us to bring ice paks with us - and to have lots of different soups available (thank goodness for great take outs around here!) Hope you heal fast - do take that 3rd day to rest!

Took our 1 1/2 year old puppy to the vet - he passed (well the results of the heartworm test will be called in today, but I'm sure he passed!) He is one silly puppy, a really awesome gift that keeps on giving!

DH has been brewing beer - dh freaked out Zeus one time - now everytime the wind blows the dog thinks someone or something is trying to get in!!

He likes to watch me work very closely!
(my obsession, making blankets for Project Linus, I help cut the fleece to size, then use a special rotary blade and put holes around the edges, then crochet an edging) and of course the computer pulls me away for breaks every now and then :rolleyes1

Wow, Allie - that video sure puts things into perspective. Such widespread devastation :grouphug: Sending more prayers.

Sandy - That crocheted blanket edging looks so nice! And, yes, I sure would love to get the same benefits as our legislators. They get great benefits and don't have to work 30+ years for them :(

Marita - Your hubby must be slowly working his way toward updating your house for selling it down the road!

Nabbie - I was just reading a bit more about the fish extenders thing and read about another down-side . . . all the time it takes to drop off the gifts :scared: Don't think I want to spend my vacation running all over the ship!

Yes, it does, and that is only a small portion of the devastation. It is all over the state. We passed by a house, or I should say a driveway, when we were coming home, and literally all that was left was the driveway, and stuff scattered all around.

Thanks for the hugs and the prayers. I am much better than this time last week. Sandy can attest that I was a MESS last week.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOM'S!!!!!

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT DAY!

Here it is also Nicholas 14th birthday, so I will let him pick where or what he wants for dinner. I am up early so his dad could see him open his presents before going to bed since he worked night shift. Baked and icing his cake yesterday but have to write on it and decorate it later, was going to leave it but feel guilty about not writing Happy Birthday on his cake.

Allie-- I will pray at church this morning for you and all the family down there. So sad , I really couldn't image what I would do if my whole house was gone or family member due to this .

Sandy-- cute puppy! I wish I could crochet or even knit. Great job your doing for others.

Moo-- I remember reading that too , it could take a whole afternoon , who needs that.

Hope all the Moms had a delightful Mother's Day!

Hubby and I went out for dinner at my cousin's restaurant last night (YUM!) and for a bike ride at the park this afternoon. First time out on the bikes this year. I enjoyed seeing all the wildflowers blooming. Lots of Trilliums, Violets, and Dutchmen's Breeches. Tons of people out and about enjoying the gorgeous day.

I've been eating leftovers and the extra house salad that I got last night, so no cooking for me today!

Nabbie - Happy Birthday to Nicholas!!! :goodvibes

We are here and let me say I don't think that I can ever stay at a Disney resort again. This place is beautiful, huge and there are so many ammenities we won't be able to get to them all in a week long trip. I wish we had 7 nights just to stay HERE! It's AWESOME! I've already done 2 loads of laundry. So cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MommyP - Loved seeing your photos on FB! Looks like you're having a wonderful time!!!

P.S. And you look SO skinny :)

we are home ......exhuasted and ready for my very own bed......although we had a new room at Port Orleans French Quarter.....it was gorgeous.
The love bugs took over as did the mosquitos and blackflies and the horse flies.....I had so many bites that we had to buy hydrocortizone at the store and hubby's arm was so swollen I thought we were going to have to get a doctor to look at it......the Nurse at first aid put benedryl on it and was going to give him some oral meds but he declined ...
The weather for that whole ten days was totally awesome.....it rained on afternoon but we were inside a restaurant eating and when we were done the rain was too.........
disappointed in some of the menu changes at the food courts.......no pasta and meatballs for adults......no double cheeseburgers.......no taco salads.....but we still ate and ate and ate.......I had a great eating frenzy..ROFl

see you tomorrow if I sleep thru it let me know.

Hello!

Glad to have a minute to catch up on the news here. :grouphug:

My oldest is driving :faint, the twins ran a 5K last weekend:yay::yay:, Goldenchild turns 6 this week (how did that happen?)... still wants to be a ninja when he grows up, Grasshopper and The Baby have been sick- running fevers for about a week. In a moment of insanity (brilliance?) I threw a birthday party for the twins AND Goldenchild at my house last weekend. :dance3:

They agreed on an Under the Sea theme and we had tons of fun. But I am exhausted.

Why did I do such a thing?

We never got around to having a party for the twins birthday- our weekends were booked, the weather was bad and I was sick. Suddenly it was May- and time for Goldenchild's birthday. We wanted to really celebrate his since his sister is having a very major surgery on his actual birthday.

So I do appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my daughter. This will be a bone graft from her hip into her gumline. It has a long and painful recovery, including almost a month of a very limited diet.

Anyway- I will try to check in afterwards.

Time to go cheerlead the troops :cheer2:

Have a great day Mooovers.

Twinkie, lots of prayers and pixie dust for you little girl. Poor thing. I hope it all turns out well.

Pumba, welcome back! Sorry you had bug issues, but this is Florida, you know? Disney Pest Control years ago changed their name to Pest Management, cause they can't control it, just try to manage it.

MP, I heard lots of nice things about Bonnet Creek.

I made a major screw up yesterday booking hubby's flight home from Montana. He wanted to fly back Saturday, and said no matter if its late Sat or Sunday mornng (like midnight from Sat to Sunday)(email). This was in the morning. By the time I got home to book it. all I rembered was Saturday or Sunday. So I found a better flight on Sunday, arriving at 6:30 PM, and he has to wake up at 2AM :scared1: . Anyway, he said to keep it.

Funny story: Hubby called the phone company today (this is what DS tells me) to get the internet added back on his phone for the trip and the hurricane season. So he tells the guy that it's a family plan, he pays for it, but it's in DD's name. So the guy says "we have to call your daughter to get permission to add internet to your phone". OK, he pays but its in her name.

Guy comes back to say permission was denied!!:rotfl:

Haven't had a chance to talk to DD yet to see what the deal is.

That is funny Marita. Wonder why he was denied.

Twinkie-- prayers for your little twinkie. She has been though a lot already hasn't she. I am trying to get a birthday sleepover all set for this Friday for Hannah even though her birthday is not until next week.

Moo-- What did you think of BL tonight. I am sure your happy the two sisters made it. I felt bad for Austin. But all those girls can't win the money so maybe it is a better place for him to be. The girls really look good and can't believe they are still losing 5 pounds.

Baseball started up , well at least practices have , first game next week. So more running for me.

Twink - So nice to have an update from you! Please let us know what day the TwinkieTwin is having her surgery so we can send prayers and pixie dust her way! princess: pixiedust:

Welcome home, Pumba! Nice to have you back. Hope you get rested up quickly from your Disney adventure :goodvibes

Marita - :eek: :lmao: popcorn::

Nabbie - I was also sad to see Austin be eliminated tonight. Thought it should have been Jay  But you're right, I was happy to see the sisters make it through intact since my fave, Courtney, went home way too early :( I am thinking she still has a good chance at the at-home prize, but Austin probably does too! I agree the girls all are looking good and think that they need to pick some heavier women again for next season!!!

I'm curious to see how Shay has been doing at the finale - she hasn't posted any pics of herself on FB lately and it sounds like she's really been struggling with her food intake (I can totally relate to that).

Moo -- You and me both. I have climbed up 7-8 pounds in that last year and I am not liking it. But do I do anything about it no. :sad2:

Weather is suppose to be nice until Friday so I will have to go out an enjoy it.

Surgery is tomorrow morning. Your prayers are much appreciated!

(and of course Katherine has pink eye  )

When it rains it pours they say.

Hope both girls recover fast.

I spend the day looking for prizes for Hannah up coming birthday party. She has it all planned out , games from the internet , pin a hat on Nick Jonas that she made up from her poster. I got a big bouncy ball for that prize. She got Jonas Brother plates/cups/napkins on clearance for a $1. I keep telling her they are now out and Jason Bieber is it. She gets made at me. :lmao:

I have to make cupcakes , get the sleeping bags out and she is doing the rest. Her birthday isn't unitl the 18th but that weekend is the long weekend and didn't want to do it then. Only 3 of her best friends so not too bad.
