Yes a busy weekend here too. Kids kept me going because they were bored.

I took Nicholas for a hair cut at the mall yesterday and we haven't cut it this short since he was in grade 2. Cut all the curls off. I told him it will grow back if he doesn't like it but he is ok with it.

Yes Moo that was shocking.....I was wondering why the President was coming on so late, it scares a person but then I thought the new people would have something on by now.

We have voting day today , so we might have a new Prime Minister by the end of the day. But I am going out to vote , not like some people that complain about who is in but don't.Nicholas class has been following it closely so Nicholas has been giving me a lot of info on the canditates. They did a mock election on Friday and count the votes today, well be interesting how our youth vote. Polls say we will not have a change.

Just got off the phone with our friend Allie - she's at her mom's, and she wanted me to specifically thank all the Moo'vers for their kind words and thoughts on FB - she really doesnt want to post much because she knows so many on her FB are in worse shape than she is - she says maybe she is having some survivor guilt.

She says to keep her in our thoughts and prayers esp today as they drive back home - they have power back - her dh went back ahead of them to have that first hand knowledge. She also says that a company posted that they would tarp roofs - for FREE - and they were able to get them to come, and indeed, it was free, they did ask them to make a donation for others, which they will...

She said they mostly got the wind, could see the clouds, but the tornado didnt touch down near them, mainly the out county suffered...

Her son graduates in 2 weeks, I told her it was good for the kids to try and get back and find some kind of normalcy for them!

and me?

Not much going on, usual drama - DD is 14 (say no more ) I'm trying to get her through Confirmation in the Lutheran faith (drama -so much so, she actually ran away - partly due to her "power struggle" meeting my "I"M THE MOM" line in the sand... luckily I heard the voice of God, and we are trying to move forward - we'll see, tonight at 6:30 is the last class, next Sunday is the Confirmation...)

DH has gone through a couple of jobs, but luckily no great gaps in the unemployment game... but we're holding on.

Its hard to come on the Disney boards - and dont get me started, dh really wants to do the Goofy Marathon! DD starts High School and told him "NO!" She is signed up for 3 Honors Classes (Biology, English, History and Geometry - Help! :scared1:)

My parents are traveling from Cape Coral FL to Detroit in a couple of weeks - and a friend will drive them to the Lake in IN - I'm thinking of grabbing a plane to meet them and be there to help open the lake - not that I can put a dock in but I may be able to hold my dad back from doing too much!

I'm still substituting, and knitting, and crocheting - this month we were challenged that they'll give our group $500 if we can show 500 volunteer hours - so I'm crocheting borders on the fleece blankets (its for Project Linus - http://www.projectlinus.org/

Sandy, so nice to see you here again, welcome back, missed you!!

Thanks for passing the messages from Allie, please send her my best wishes. What a mess that must be for all those poor people.

Nothing much happening here, another forecast week, yuck, and the pounds keep piling on...

Well we voted yesterday and we have the same Prime Minister. Which is fine with me. He has won a Majority of the votes , last time he only had a minority govn't so the oppostion had some say yet including this election that no one thought we should be having in the first place.

Sandy-- thanks for the update on Allie and youself. Sounds like you are having tough times with your 14 year old.

Nicholas turns 14 on Sunday and he is a hand full. Teacher called about sliding grades yesterday. :sad2: We asked him about it last night and he said he was tired and his solution was to let him have coffee to stay awake. They were talking about coffee and energy drinks in health class and the teacher said University students use coffee so he thinks this will solve his problem. The way kids think.....no you are not having coffee to stay wake and alert durning class in grade 8!

Pumba-- is she gone already? I thought she had a week to go.

Hellloooooo!

Sandy, yes, very nice to hear from you and for passing on the Allie info.

I had a hard time watching the celebrations after OBL's death. I know how horrible of a person he was and what he did to so many people; I just thought it was an excuse for some young people to react the way they did. They looked foolish and dumb on television. I am afraid for the after effects of his death.

We decided to go camping in August, my month off! A whole month off! I can't wait! It's been a long time coming.

We have a nice sized amusement/water park on the west side of the state. Michigan's Adventure. http://www.miadventure.com/

They just added on to the water park and it looks like a blast! We will camp at a nearby state park, like we did a few summer's ago. This time my sister is going with us with her two kids and Fiancee. I should call him husband because they are living together......:rolleyes1

It's cold here again. Raining and cold. I'm crabby and in pain (long embarrassing story) and I just want to heal. 15 months of this BS and in my opinion the dr just added to my misery last week. I suppose if you really want to know, I can pm you. I promise, its not pretty.

Have a great day!

Can this week possibly go any sloooooooooooooooooooooooower?

I am halfway packed. Got all our food packed that we are taking. We have to purchase all perishables Sat. up there because we are going to Animal Kingdom or Epcot on Sat. before we can check in(not until 4 and there is no early check in) I got most of the kiddos stuff packed, just a few last minute things to throw in like socks and underwear, diapers, pullups, tooth brushes. Plus while packing I realized that Jeremiah and Seth had outgrown all of their shorts except 2 pairs. (that's one each) so tomorrow night we are going to get them a couple pairs at Once Upon A Child and we have to get Jeremiah fitted for his tux tomorrow night too. He is in a friend's wedding in June, the ring bearer.

We actually have to bring less stuff, even though it's a longer trip and we are bringing lots of food. Having a washer and dryer in room is the only way to travel with 6 kids. lol!

At least this is a busy week. Tomorrow we have to go shopping, Thursday Chad has a side job and I am going to go with him. Friday is my brother's graduation. He is of high school graduation age, but because of dual enrollment in college he is graduation from that with a associates degree. He has one more semester there as an actual college student to get a few more credits and then he is going to the local university to be a Nurse Practitioner. Or a Murse... ;o)

Anyway, I am counting down the days until Saturday. We are SO excited!

Mony - Sorry you are having problems. Hope your vacation is wonderful!

THanks.

Where are you staying this time? I know you said off property. When we went last time twice we stayed off property (the first night in Disney and the last night in Disney) and had a washer/dryer, it was heaven packing less and being able to wash. I can home with all clean close and just put them away!

Sandy - Just want to add my thanks for updating us on Allie  Nice to have an update on what you're up to lately as well!!! Your daughter is at one of those tough ages. Hope things improve as she gets older :goodvibes

Mony - I kind of felt the same way about OBL's death. Sorry to hear you're having some health issues, but glad you're having a bit of a break from school :thumbsup2

MommyP - Yay for your trip  It'll be here before you know it. Really!!!

Nabbie - How'd you like the BL makeovers last night? I thought it different going with the formal/fairy tale theme. I kind of missed seeing them go shopping for more of an updated wardrobe they can actually wear though. Loved Olivia's new shorter hair, but I didn't really like that Hannah and Irene went blondish (at least they didn't go TOO light on either of them). Austin sure was looking good! And I loved getting to hear Olivia sing :)

Moo-- definitely didn't like Hannah's makeover. Her bangs were very heavy and it looked like they only cut it a bit shorter and made it blonde. Yes Austin really needed that make over though. I really wanted him to win the car. I think Jay was very lucky that he didn't go home last night. Only two shows left.

Watching Idol right now. I really like the Voice too that was on last night. I record Survivor. Boy I really am a reality show watcher ....

Yes, they sure were lucky nobody got sent home!!! I'll bet it was to make up for sending someone home even though Rulon left of his own accord last week (although there were rumors that he was cheating in some way).

You are right on regarding Hannah's hairdo!

I'll bet we'll be seeing news about Austin and Courtney being a couple soon. Sure hope she wins the at home prize :goodvibes

I've started watching the Voice too. I don't normally watch singing shows so I don't really know why I started! But I'm strangely fascinated by Cee Lo :confused3

I also can't believe how much I'm enjoying DWTS. I peeked to see who got booted last night, but I'll have to watch that show on-line because I wasn't able to record it last night.

Mony - We are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. I wish I knew how cheap it was to rent from an owner there, we would have been staying there for years.

We stayed there. Nice place. Tim had frequent flyer miles and we used the points to stay there for 2 nights. I'd of much rather have stayed there the entire trip and like you, might do that if we ever get to go back.

It was the cleanest place I've ever stayed. You will love it!

Checking in quickly. THANK YOU!!!!! :grouphug: I LOVE you all!!! Once I got to my mom's I was able to read all of your posts, but was unable to respond. It has been a CRAZY week. I hope to get on here later, and say more, but it is still too raw right now. My family and I are fine. Luckily the tornado that went over our house, was in the air and not on the ground. It ripped off our roof vent and several shingles, so we are getting a new roof. The 'Goose' tarp is now nailed to our roof. :thumbsup2

The EF 5 tornado hit just a couple of miles west of us. It is what saved our house because it took all the energy out of ours (tornado), but I feel so bad for the folks who were in its path. 3 families from our church lost everything.

When we drove to my parents, we didn't hit a stoplight until we were an hour and a half out of Huntsville, and we would have gone through a bunch.

Please keep praying for the State of Alabama! We need it! I am just thankful that we are alive and have minimal damage. Of course, as Sandy said, I feel guilty for being happy in my good fortune. I am better now that I am back to work, and have been able to help my coworker who lost his house. It was really hard being in Atlanta, and not being able to help, but the mayor told us to leave if we had family elsewhere. It kinda felt like jumping ship. :sad2:

I also had family drama that didn't help the situation. Anyway, I have got to get to bed, but I wanted to say again how thankful I was to see all my peeps checking in on me. Y'all are the best friends that I have never met in my life!!! :grouphug: Did that make sense?

So good to hear from you, Allie, and we were very grateful to hear that you and your family were OK! Prayers sent for your church family members and coworker :grouphug: My nephew is currently doing an internship in Montgomery, so my family was all checking the map to see where that was located in comparison to the areas that were hit so hard.

MommyP - I stayed at Bonnet Creek a few years back when I went to WDW with Cel . . . it was very nice, but I was tired from traveling and didn't take the opportunity to visit the pool and have always wished I had!

My DD sent me an early Mother's Day gift - a package of brownies and scones. Yummm!!! I'm going to share with my hubby so I can spread all those carbs around, LOL :lmao:

Allie, great to hear you are back home safely. How sad for your state though, hope all can recover soon.

Another forecast week done, YUCK! I haven't even fully seen my newly redone bathroom. It wasnt finished till Monday, and when I got home, hubby was asleep, and in the morning I was in a rush with no time to move my stuff back from the second bathroom.

Nicole is driving up to Montana to see Chris for 3 months. She was originally supposed to go with a girl from work who was planning on moving back to Canada, but that fell through. SO now, instead of letting her drive 4 days by herself, hubby is planning on driving up with her and then flying back. And 2 or so weeks later, we are flying up for our visit:rolleyes: Nice waste of a 1 week vacation for hubby plus the cost of the flight back. What's worse is that he has a bad back, and spending 4 days driving in a packed to the gills Toyota Echo is not going to help any. CHris told him he was nuts and would end up in the hospital. but hubby told him it would be an adventure. Chris said he was almost done in by a drive up to Georgia a few years ago, so we shall see how that goes......

Now hubby just sprung on me yesterday that he wants to redo the second bathroom while we are gone and to pick out tiles and things like yesterday.. HUH???? Are we suddenly made of money? DId we win the lottery??? He says we can pay for it, so I guess I'll go for it...

Tomorrow I have an appointment for a consultation with an oral surgeon. How much fun is that going to be?

Allie-- so glad your safe, you and others will be in my prayers. Scary stuff.

Moo-- Yay on the early Mother's Day present.

Marita-- That is a long drive up to Montana. Does your dd drive so they can switch off. Maybe your hubby did win the lottery and didn't tell you .:lmao:

Not much happening here, going food shopping this morning. We don't have all the big coupon things here like Mommy p does. No double coupon stores etc. We get a few shampoo, diaper ones etc in the paper insert but that is about it.

I think I fogot to mention I went back on weight watchers on Monday and I am happy to report I've lost 6.8 pounds. I know most of it is water and it was nice knowing I didn't gain all of what I had previously lost back.

Next year when Mal makes her first communion, I want to be happy with me and have something nice and flattering on and I need to get rid of my daily struggles.

Allie: Love and prayers to you. I know you have been through a terrible ordeal, with God by your side you will get through this.

Rainy yucky day here. Yesterday was beautiful! I miss yesterday's weather already.

Please post all of your trip planning here! I must live through them!:rolleyes1

Allie  and prayers - let us know if you want us to chip in and help! I know how to work a hammer!!

Mony Hope things are better now - I hate saying I've btdt with icky problems - may they be forever done now! :cheer2: On the weight loss - that's terrific - I may have to join - I want to do it on my own, but its just not working for me..

Nab Hope the Prime Minister treats you right!!

Marita oral surgeon :scared1: yeah, no, not fun! Good luck - and keep up the sprucing, it will look like a brand new place!!

Moo hows work? Are you still doing the countdown to retirement?

MommpP Have an awesome, magical time - its a vacation - I need one of those!!

DD did it - she is going to be confirmed Sunday!! I know its her gift to me - glad it was Mother's Day to add that guilt magic!!

So now dh is nudging us to go to Disney for Marathon weekend 2012 - :faint:
which means... a lot. We were hoping to do Ireland - but with the gas prices the cheapest flights are $950 RT each! To disney? $250! *sigh... However, DD starts High school, and their Vacation is Dec 22 - Jan 4 - (the 4th is a Wednesday!) Marathon is 5-8 of January... I cant imagine how crowded the parks will be...

:wizard:

Sandy. YAY for your DD's confirmation. Hope you have a great day.

Nab, yes, DD drives, the whole point is to get her up there with her car. I looked up on mapquest today, 2,500 miles, estimated time 38 hrs, 10 mins. Of course that means without stopping. So I'm guessing it will take them around 4 days.

So, visit to oral surgeon was more pleaseant than I expected, financially. OOP cost including sedation is $217, which is a lot better than I thought it would be, but then again, I pay for the premium dental plan. On the not so good side, instructions are the same as they were when DD got her wisdom teeth out when she was around 12 or so. Bring pillow and blanket in the car, expect lots of bleeding, etc. I remember her crying and screaming when she woke up. GREAT!!! So I put in for 2 sick days, but depending how it goes, i might add another day.

I'm thinking Pumba should be coming home this weekend?
