Moose & Goose- The 5th anniversary is the Dis Trip Anniversary- Baby Update #2 5/1

SCORE!!! on the great table! those clouds looked really ominous though.. so hard to tell in florida. It look slike it's going to POUR in about 15minutes, and then it goes away.

glad to hear you and tink are besties now!

did you see the "kiss goodnight"?

We are TOTALLY Besties! Yes, we did see the kiss goodnight. It was perfect!

So glad you enjoyed the Dessert Party and that it did not rain!
I was SO worried the ENTIRE time that it was going to rain... and then when the shows started, the weather didn't even cross my mind. So glad the weather went north of us!

Great pics! :)
Thanks! I think I fixed the video. I think it's the best part.

But the evening before them could be epic... or an epic fail... which will it be?

But either way, there will be some epicness.

It's a word. I just makes it up.

On our way out, we stopped by a store near the entrance and found the selection of hats... I tried on one that reminds me of one of my best friends... Jessie.

Cutie patootie!

What is that?! No smoking, no eating hot dogs... no cassette tapes? No robots? No front of a semi? No toaster ovens? I have NO idea what that is supposed to be on the end. Anybody?

That was well done! I think you covered all the bases!

It could be a broken tv with a built in DVD player.
Those things are never a good idea. You break one, the other's useless.

So it makes sense.

It was still raining when we left and I was worried about the fireworks being canceled and the whole thing being ruined.

Insert suspense filled music here.

Dun, dun, dun, duunnnnnnn!!!!!!
(I put in extra exclamation marks to make it even more suspenseful.)

Every about 5 minutes or less I checked my Weather app... there was a HUGE green and yellow blob on the radar, headed right for us!

That's okay. As long as it isn't rain clouds.

We walked down Main Street and turned right at Casey's, and went over to the "Tomorrowland Terrace". Where we saw a line that was REALLY long!

Seems odd. If your table is reserved, why stand in line? :confused3

"Oh.. yep, here it is... we had your name spelled wrong."

How does that happen?
Isn't everything electronic these days?
Did the computer at central reservations spell it wrong when he was chatting with the Tomorrowland Terrace computer?

THE BEST ONE IN THE HOUSE! Front row, first one in the row! WOW! We were BEYOND excited to have this view and be here!

Nice score!

How would you like to have THIS VIEW!?!?! It was AMAZING!

::yes::

what happens if it rains? Will they cancel the dessert party? He said "you're already in. If the fireworks get rained out, you'll still get to have dessert."

Was it covered where your table was?
I'm imagining you and Moose sitting at a table that's completely exposed to the elements... with rain pouring on you... eating soggy desserts.

However, I did not have a rice krispie treat.

What???
Well! You obviously didn't get your money's worth then!

:rolleyes1:
;)

"Selfie" of us and the Castle.

Cute pic. Although I'm not sure if that's a smile because the rain's held off or because of a massive sugar rush.

one of my favorite pictures is a panoramic picture I took from our table....

Nice!

At some point between the Castle show and Wishes a guy was sitting next to us..... and there was a family of four at the table behind us. The guy at the table next to us told the other person at his table:
"You see that cable from the top of the Castle? That's the guide wire for Tinkerbell... that's how she flies."
Now usually, I don't listen to what people say... especially when I'm in public and generally surrounded by mean people and/or idiots... However, this man said it rather loudly, while pointing right at the wire... AND being surrounded by children.
I turned to the man and said "Sir, you are mistaken. I don't see ANY wire.. and Tinkerbell flies with magic and Fairydust."
I nodded my head toward the children standing a mere 5 feet from us, on the railing who were now turned around looking at us.
"OH!" The man said nodding his head. "I'm sorry. I thought it was for Tinkerbell."
"No, I don't know why it's there, but Tinkerbell uses magic and Fairydust to fly down from the Castle."

Nice save!
I know that guy. He tells everyone within earshot that there's no Santa and the tooth fairy isn't real either.

grrrrrrrr......

I turned back to Moose and sort of whispered to him "I get that he's an adult and that he gets how it works, but that doesn't mean he should spoil the magic and wonder for all of the children."

Ya got that right!!

Moose nodded in agreement. Honestly, I was VERY angry at the man... but knew getting angry and explaining to him WHY I was upset with what he said, would probably only set him off, possibly lead to a fight and then get us all kicked out....

Right. Save that for after the fireworks... then start your own.

Lesson- do not try to spoil the magic for everyone else because you are a fuddy-duddy-stick-in-the-mud-know-it-all.

Wait. I'm a fuddy-duddy-stick-in-the-mud-know-it-all.

Yes, m'am.

Sadly, as you can see, people walked up to the railing when the fireworks started... but it was okay because we still had a great view.

Close call.

Here is a video I took... you can REALLY tell when Tinkerbell flies from the Castle and lands.. ABOVE MY HEAD!
Also, she WAVED RIGHT AT ME! Which I TOTALLY freak out about (and you can TOTALLY hear it on the video).

 Unfortunately, I couldn't see the video. I don't know if it's the link or my computer. :confused3

After Wishes, EVERYONE but us left. The place was desserted and quiet!

<cricket><cricket><cricket>

So, we stayed and enjoyed the ambiance. We had no where to be... so I had some ice cream and a chocolate covered strawberry and had some milk.

:faint: I envy you. I can't eat that much rich food anymore.
And I wanna!

I had my picture taken by a bonified Disney Public Relations CM!

Of course he was bonified. Otherwise he'd just be a jellyfish.

It was a WONDERFUL time! If you can, I would HIGHLY recommend you going the next time you're in Disney World!

Okay! Okay! You've convinced me!

We went back to the room and decided we were hungry for actual food. So, Moose decided to order a pizza...

You were still hungry? I think I'd be in a food coma by then! :rotfl:

What would tomorrow hold for us?

I don't know! But I can't wait to find out!
Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

I got pretty far behind on your TR because I was away from the DIS for awhile and am slowly catching up.

Yes - CAndy Crush - I am one of those people too! :rotfl2:

Ugh to the leaf blower right outside your room. The nerve.

I haven't seen Indian Jones in forever. Really need to fix that. What a fun day in HS. You really got a lot done for an 11am arrival.

Sci Fi looks fun. It's impossible to get an ADR there these days.

The dessert party also looks like great fun. So many yummy choices. I am going to try it one of these days.

Are you learning from Lady H and myself on how to write a TR? Post a chapter than make people wait forever for the next chapter?

Did you abandon your TR? Everything alright?

And here I thought I was behind on posting a chapter. :rolleyes1 :duck:

No... I didn't abandon the TR.... I usually update during weekends when I'm at work and things are slow, but I took off weekends in December. I'll try to get back at it this weekend... plus I got laptop for Christmas so I can update more often now.... since the husband can't pig my laptop! HAHA!

While, I'm here, I'll post a real-life update:
Also... I've got something I want to share with you all. I live in Indianapolis and my 30th birthday is in February. So, for my 30th birthday I've decided that I want anyone who wants to send me a birthday card... or gift... that I would like them to give me a teddy bear. I had about 100 teddy bears when I was in high school and my mom made me give them all away when I moved away to college.
So... my goal was to collect 30 teddy bears for my 30th birthday and donate them to the cancer floor of the local children's hospital.
As of Christmas eve, I have 32 teddy bears!

However, I can't donate 9 of them because a friend of mine from high school gave them to me and she had had them in her house for a while... which means they have germs on them from being in her house for years.
So, I have 23 new teddy bears I will donate to the children's hospital and 9 teddy bears I will donate to the State Police to put into the back of their squad cars for when they have to take children from a violent scene.
I am SO excited that I made my goal. But, since I can't take all 30 teddy bears to Riley Children's Hospital, I've decided my new goal is 50 teddy bears... because I've got another month and a half before my Valentine's Day deadline to take the bears to the hospital.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope I'll post a new chapter before the new year.

We hope you'll post a chapter, too!
No promises, but... could you PM me your address?

Let me back up a touch before I start on Wednesday. On Tuesday night I told Michael how excited I was that we got to experience something so neat and something that was probably a once in a lifetime event.

So, I told him I was hoping we could make reservations for something else while we were there. Before we made the original reservations for the dessert party, we had considered going to the pirate boat party- where you go out on the lagoon, watch fireworks and then Captain Hook tells you the story of Peter Pan… at least that’s how I understood the description.

Anyway- Michael said since we were there for our anniversary we could make another reservation—for the Hoop De Doo Revue. So, I called the front desk and asked if they could make reservations for us… and they did. We had a table for the 815 show, the next evening.
***************************

When we got up Wednesday morning, we packed up and took the luggage out to the car. Then we drove to the main lobby and checked out.
While we were checking out, we got our packet of information on the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and our tickets.

There were LOTS of people there, all checking out. There was one couple who were there who were having some kind of issues with their reservations. The man started yelling- and cussing- at the person behind the desk.

Two managers came out to help and tried to calm the man down…. It was a little scary for a few minutes.

We finally got an open attendee to help us check out. It was painless. We paid our bill—because like I said the husband had charged LOTS of stuff to the room.

Then we got back in the car and drove to Wilderness Lodge.

When we walked in, there was hardly anyone in the lobby.
So, we walked right up to the desk—I had all of our paperwork- thanks to our travel agent- with our numbers and reservations ready to give them.
I gave them all the paperwork they needed… and expected to be given our room keys. Instead the new trainee CM went over and asked for assistance from another CM.

They both worked on the computer… they kept saying “this is weird… I’ve never seen that before… this is weird.” Then the second CM asked me for our magic bands. I told her we didn’t have any magic bands—we weren’t given any because when we checked in it was 2 days before the “practice” period. She said, that might be a problem.

They asked us to take a seat and they would be right with us. So, we sat and waited for about 10 minutes… the lobby started to fill. It was now just after 11.

So, of course, with free time on my hands… I take pictures.

The water spot in the lobby.

It flows outside…

If you turn around from here, you’ll see the gift shop… or Mercantile.

Where we waited:

After I had walked around a bit, I went back over to where Moose was sitting in the waiting area. He was frustrated that they hadn’t given us our room key yet.

So I went back over and asked about how long they thought it would be. They said our reservation was lost and they would have to make a new reservation for us… she said our reservation number is in the system but says there is no room or credit card or anything associated with the number—it’s just blank. They said they would try to get it resolved as quickly as possible.

I went over and told Moose. He was not happy. (This is QUIET an understatement.)

We had no keys that were valid which meant we also couldn’t go to any parks because they were on the cards….
So, I got my wallet and went over to the pin cart that was in the lobby. No reason to waste perfectly fine pin buying time sitting around doing nothing.
I ended up buying a pin with fireworks and Tinkerbell on it to commemorate our dessert party.

I also bought a “two surprise pin”… I got two small pins- one is figment’s head the other is a D with Chip & Dale in it. I also bought a pirate pin for Moose because I knew he wanted one. And I bought more locking pin backs. And I bought a Mickey and Minnie on Main Street pin because it was cute and I also bought a Wilderness Lodge pin. I ended up spending about $75 on pins… and pin accessories! Can you BELIEVE THAT?! OMG!

So went back over to where Moose was sitting… and just as I was putting my pins away, they called us over…. It ended up taking nearly 40 minutes to get our “new” reservations and cards.

Our room was ready, so we went up to the fourth floor- facing the woods with a “Magic Kingdom view”… we could see part of Space Mountain and the top of the Castle through the trees.

Thanks for reading along. I've run out of space for pictures. I'll be back later... Moose's mood improves, we have a fun lunch and then take another trip to the Magic Kingdom... and don't forget about our Hoop Dee Doo Revue!
See ya real soon!

Man, that stinks about them not finding your room and then taking so long to resolve it! Hopefully the day gets more magical!

Jill in CO

Well welcome back. Glad to see you're still around.

Bummer on the room switch. Good thing you had all your information.

If we ever get a chance to go back, just may have to give this place a try. Waiting for all the MB madness to settle down before deciding if we want to go back or not.

Can't wait to read more now that you have a new computer

mike, you'll love WL. the lobby is beautiful. the pool is nice. one morning we hung around in loungers on the beach. WHispering Canyon is a fun place to eat! and even though we've never tried it, I think you and heather would like Artist's point.

I always thought this would be a cool place to stay in dec. (so do a lot of poeple, so book early!) I think they still have a sleigh ride.

it's close to Ft. wilderness if you want to go over there for the hoop de doo revue (beer wine and tip included in the all you can eat fride chicken ribs and corny show!) the Trail's end buffet is really good, also.

Wow. So sorry your reservation got lost and you had to wait that long to get it sorted out. Your room is really beautiful. I love the inn rooms so much more than the villa rooms. It also looks nice and private!

Let me back up a touch before I start on Wednesday.

Wait.... Wednesday? That's tomorrow!
Oh... you meant 'then' Wednesday as opposed to 'now' Wednesday which is really 'then' Wednesday, isn't it?

I'm so confused!!!!

Anyway- Michael said since we were there for our anniversary we could make another reservation—for the Hoop De Doo Revue. So, I called the front desk and asked if they could make reservations for us… and they did. We had a table for the 815 show, the next evening.

Score!

When we got up Wednesday morning, we packed up and took the luggage out to the car. Then we drove to the main lobby and checked out.

I don't know if I could do that.
When I'm staying at Disney, I like to settle in and feel at home.
I realize that means fewer hotels get to be experienced, but...

Just the thought of having to pack and unpack everything....
I really don't know.

While we were checking out, we got our packet of information on the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and our tickets.

"packet of information"? You mean the Revue review?
(How was that, Smidgy?)

There were LOTS of people there, all checking out. There was one couple who were there who were having some kind of issues with their reservations. The man started yelling- and cussing- at the person behind the desk.

Two managers came out to help and tried to calm the man down…. It was a little scary for a few minutes.

Yeah... 'cause screaming at the poor CM will help. :sad2:
I get that you're frustrated, but... really?

We paid our bill—because like I said the husband had charged LOTS of stuff to the room.

Atta boy!

Then we got back in the car and drove to Wilderness Lodge.

I love WL. It's on my bucket list to stay there some day.

they kept saying “this is weird… I’ve never seen that before… this is weird.”

Not what you want to hear... ever...

Then the second CM asked me for our magic bands. I told her we didn’t have any magic bands—we weren’t given any because when we checked in it was 2 days before the “practice” period. She said, that might be a problem.

????? They don't give you magic bands and then have the nerve to tell you it's your fault????

Where's that guy who threw a fit??
He's needed over here!

They asked us to take a seat and they would be right with us. So, we sat and waited for about 10 minutes… the lobby started to fill.

Did the CMs who were working on your reservation help other guests?
Or did they stick to your problem?

So, of course, with free time on my hands… I take pictures.

Fringe benefit.
Nice pics, BTW!

she said our reservation number is in the system but says there is no room or credit card or anything associated with the number—it’s just blank.

That's weird.

I went over and told Moose. He was not happy. (This is QUIET an understatement.)

Oh, there's the "let's make a scene" dude!

I ended up spending about $75 on pins… and pin accessories! Can you BELIEVE THAT?! OMG!

:scared1:

NO!!!!

It ended up taking nearly 40 minutes to get our “new” reservations and cards.

:sad2:

Our room was ready, so we went up to the fourth floor- facing the woods with a “Magic Kingdom view”… we could see part of Space Mountain and the top of the Castle through the trees.

But not in your photos... or is it straight ahead (i.e., not left or right)?

Oh, and is that what you had originally reserved?
Or did you get an upgrade (hopefully not a downgrade!)

Woodchuck:

Did you ask him if he could chuck wood?

Thanks for reading along. I've run out of space for pictures. I'll be back later... Moose's mood improves, we have a fun lunch and then take another trip to the Magic Kingdom... and don't forget about our Hoop Dee Doo Revue!
See ya real soon!

Thanks for posting, Rebecca! :goodvibes

Smidgy, funny you should mention that.. we ate at both the Whispering Canyon AND Artist Point (for our fancy anniversary dinner) while we stayed here. You'll see the pictures later.

So, now that the holidays are over, I should be back to regular posting...for a while.
That's why I'm writing this update.
I've got a LOT going on this year... I'm the matron of honor if my best friends wedding in May..
ALSO- I got 6 more teddy bears on New Years Eve... so I'm now at 38 years! (but 9 can't go to the children's hospital)....
and on New Years Eve the husband and I found out we are expecting our first baby! :faint:
My "pregnancy app" on my phone says our due date is our anniversary... conveniently... September 6th! (which honestly I'm hoping it comes a few days after or before.)
So... That's my big "real life update". I gotta say I was always kind of sad when I would see some women in their TR put in a real life update and say they were expecting... because then I would always think we weren't ever going to have children... and now... we are... and I get to be one of the ones who posts an update saying I'm expecting! :thumbsup2
But, we're not telling anyone.... except for our parents and siblings until the first doctor's appointment... so if we are friends on fb, please don't say anything yet.
In the 5 years we've been married we've both been back and forth about having children and now I guess we've got to be on the same page because we're going to have at least one!
My first doctor's appointment is on the 16th... I'm considering doing a baby journal and giving it to the child on like their wedding day or something... putting in there something about how I'm feeling each day, my thoughts and prayers for them and their life and my hopes for them in their own life.
Thanks so much for your prayers and well wishes. With each chapter update I"ll try to add a little something in here about how I... or "we" are doing.
I plan on posting another chapter of the TR this weekend... so hopefully I'll get that done.
See ya real soon!

"packet of information"? You mean the Revue review?
(How was that, Smidgy?)

bless your little heart!!!!

Smidgy, funny you should mention that.. we ate at both the Whispering Canyon AND Artist Point (for our fancy anniversary dinner) while we stayed here. You'll see the pictures later.

ooh! I can't wait to hear about ARtist's point. I have always wanted to try that, but nebo was a little leery (just like Timothy Leary, and his brother, "really" leery).
ps only you old folks will catch that....

wow exciting news! you found out relaly early! back in myday (in the olden days) we went merrily on our way for a couple months before we realized something was different! :lmao: well, unless we were "trying". that time we pretty much knew right away. well, I mean the next motnh. ok TMI!!!

that is great news and congratulations!!! what a new and exciting adventure for you! :cloud9:
