Moose & Goose- The 5th anniversary is the Dis Trip Anniversary- Baby Update #2 5/1

Hmm. Seems there were supposed to be some pictures here that didn't show up. Well at least they didn't show up for me. Shall we see what they were supposed to be and what we're missing out on? I know Nebo hates it when Pkondz or I do this, but obviously you wanted us to see them or else you wouldn't have tried posting them. Right?! :confused3

::yes::

I know I have been totally MIA lately, and I am so sorry...Life gets in the way you know...

What...Not a good enough excuse?

Hmmm...

Ok fine...I've been shackled in the basement for the last month or so, not being able to see the light of day. Only getting bread and water, twice a day. Trying desperately to dig a hole in the concrete wall to make my break, and just yesterday I finally managed to squeeze myself through a small hole i have been digging with a spoon I was able to keep hidden from my captor. I am sure it's only a matter of time before it's realized that I have escaped and posting on a TR is a dead give away for me. But if I only get to post and say that I am reading along and love your TR so far, and can't wait to read more before I am captured once again and made to think of another way of escape, at least I know I have managed to make that small gesture...

Does that suffice as a decent (if not lame) excuse? ;)

Thank you! Happy Halloween! We had REALLY bad weather here so the kids are Trick or Treating TONIGHT here.... so that means they will be spoiling my scary movie party with ringing the bell every like 10 minutes! :(

No, I get it! So glad you could find a spare minute or so to join us again though. Hope you get caught up!

Narrator:
When we last left our drunken co-horts, they were well on their way to being 3 sheets to the wind. Would they make it the rest of the way around WS?

Our next stop was the U.K.-- I can't say country here, because the United Kingdom is several countries.
I gave Moose A sip of MY Grand Marnier Slush... because it was part of the rules to "having a drink in every country".. that he at least have A DRINK... but... It was MINE!
On the way to the U.K., we saw a pin cart and decided to stop. I had been wearing my lanyard when one of my pins popped off and it scared me that my pins could fall off as I walked... so I stopped at the cart and bought some locking pin backs and a "universal holder"... which I think is awesome and I've never seen anything like it before... it can hold fast passes in the pouch, other items on the clips and even a water bottle! AWESOME! I used the pouch to hold my locking back L screwdriver in case I wanted to take one of my pins off and trade them.
Again, I'm terrible and don't have a picture, but here it is on Ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111191388888?lpid=82

Then, we went over to the Rose and Crown and ordered some fish & chips and Moose got another beer.
Drink #10 Harps Ale- U.K.

Again, I had a sip of the beer while I drank my slush... and we shared the fish and chips and chatted about what a wonderful day it was and how we were having such a nice time.

This was the country we decided to do most of our souvenir shopping at. We are big fans of English television... Moose is a big Doctor Who fan... and I'm a HUGE Downton Abbey fan.
For those of you who think "I'd like to see those, but I don't get cable..." Well, you can see Doctor Who on BBC America- which IS on cable... however, Downton Abbey is on PBS (usually Sunday nights at 10)... new next season airs in January, but they have been running reruns of the last few seasons.... so you have no reason NOT to watch Downton... put the kids to bed and turn on Downton... let me suggest with a cup of Earl Grey tea and a cookie or something... it makes you feel very Downton-ish when you watch it. IDK why, it just enhances the viewing experience.

ANYWAY- Moose got a poster of a Dalek... sorry I don't have a picture of his.. but here is the poster:
http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Docto...8_.htm?AID=96280778&ProductTarget=53106118903

and I got a t-shirt that says, "My other house is an Abbey"... which, again, I have no picture of... but here it is on Ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/251349485127?lpid=82

Then we walked around the U.K.-- another mandatory picture:

Then... it was on to Canada. First we toured and took some pictures because we were NOT ready for another drink yet. Boy were we FEELING THAT ALCOHOL!

Then we finally decided to get our LAST BEER! We told the CM at the cart about what we had done... she looked at us with a little bit of shock.
It seems she was a bit confused as to how to react. She seemed surprised and a little shocked that we were still upright.

Drink #11- Moosehead Lager- Canada

Hello... it's a MOOSE! We HAD to!
The victor and his spoils!

We shared the drink... and sat on a bench across from the cart where we had gotten the beer.

While we sat on the bench, we got on our phones and looked at my facebook page. The following pretty much explains our "mental state" at that time. (Note there are NO edits made to the following, it was copied and pasted directly from facebook.)
One more time.. my status:

Becca:
So, after a drink in each of the first 3 countries in EPCOT: Mexico, Norway and China I'm wondering how we ever thought it was a good idea to have a drink at all 11. Whose idea was that?
The last few responses to my post?
Martha- and u r still walking??!!September 2 at 5:59pm ( <my aunt)

Jessie- haha... that's one way to tour the world glad you are having a good time

We read each others responses at the same time and laughed at ourselves and how umm... "under the influence" we were. Seriously, we laughed for a good 5 minutes, both of us laughing so hard we were crying at one point. People passing by us were giving us funny looks.
A quick picture of us on our bench after our laughing fit:

And a picture of our victorious empty cup:

As you can see from the facebook posts... we had 11 drinks in 11 different countries in less than 8 hours! That was probably not the best idea EVER... but it WAS AWESOME!

We sat on the bench for a while before deciding we were both too full for dinner at that point... and started SLOWLY walking to the front of the park.
At the pin station near the ball, I stopped and asked them if I could get the Visa Card members special Monsters University pin... and they had one, so I bought it.
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...a=X&ei=TABjUq38LYW0ygHxiIGgCg&ved=0CFsQ9QEwBA

Then, before we went back to the bus, we decided to do the only ride that day: Spaceship Earth. Let me tell you-- this was both a good decision and a bad one. Good because it got us off our feet for a bit and let us relax... Bad because we were sitting, moving slowly in the dark.

one of my favorite scenes: the moon landing

Then, we headed back to the room and took a nap... when I say nap... I mean we slept from about 6:30 to 8:30 that evening.

Towel creatures when we got back to the room:

When we got up we decided we didn't have enough time to go to any park and spend any good amount of time there. So I wrote post cards, updated my TR notebook and then we decided to go to the arcade. We had a coupon for some free tokens, so we decided to go cash that in.

On our way to the lobby, we found an empty hammock. So I decided I needed a picture op!

The only actual picture I took at the arcade:

Then we walked over the counter service for dinner before it closed for the night.

I had the create your own pasta with mushrooms and peas. It wasn't anything special, but it was good.

And Moose got a pepperoni pizza and fruit.

We went back to the room and talked about what we wanted to do the next day, took showers and went to bed.

Thanks for reading along folks!
See ya real soon! :wave2:

Nice pic of you and Moose after your laughing fit. You both look so relaxed and happy.

Our next stop was the U.K.-- I can't say country here, because the United Kingdom is several countries.

That's true... and yet I never thought of that.
I guess I always just thought of it as either England or Britain (close).
But not Great Britain, which would be closer still.

England
England + Wales = Britain
Britain + Scotland = Great Britain
Great Britain + Northern Ireland = United Kingdom

my head hurts now.

I gave Moose A sip of MY Grand Marnier Slush... because it was part of the rules to "having a drink in every country".. that he at least have A DRINK... but... It was MINE!

One's Grand Marnier Slush is sacrosanct.

I used the pouch to hold my locking back L screwdriver in case I wanted to take one of my pins off and trade them.

Soon people will be carrying power tools with them just for pin trading.

It could happen...

Then, we went over to the Rose and Crown and ordered some fish & chips and Moose got another beer.
Drink #10 Harps Ale- U.K.

No rating on this one?
Or were you too tipsy at that point to really care what it tasted like?

This was the country we decided to do most of our souvenir shopping at. We are big fans of English television... Moose is a big Doctor Who fan... and I'm a HUGE Downton Abbey fan.

Haven't seen either.
But back in the day I used to be a Benny Hill and Monty Python and later on, Fawlty Towers fan.

I got a t-shirt that says, "My other house is an Abbey".

I like that.

Then... it was on to Canada. First we toured and took some pictures because we were NOT ready for another drink yet. Boy were we FEELING THAT ALCOHOL!

And it's amazingly not tilted in one direction or the other!

Then we finally decided to get our LAST BEER! We told the CM at the cart about what we had done... she looked at us with a little bit of shock.

cute pic! :thumbsup2

At the pin station near the ball, I stopped and asked them if I could get the Visa Card members special Monsters University pin

I wonder how that really came out?

"Ex... scuze me... but... do YOU have a... the... vista curd mumbles spizza man... stirs... U... knee.... verse... city.............. pin..... pin?"

Then, before we went back to the bus, we decided to do the only ride that day: Spaceship Earth. Let me tell you-- this was both a good decision and a bad one. Good because it got us off our feet for a bit and let us relax... Bad because we were sitting, moving slowly in the dark.

"Honey... the room's spinning."
"That's okay. That's just the ride."
"The ride hasn't started yet."
"Yes it has."
"oh."

I leave it to you to decide who said what.

Then, we headed back to the room and took a nap... when I say nap... I mean we slept from about 6:30 to 8:30 that evening.

That counts.

On our way to the lobby, we found an empty hammock. So I decided I needed a picture op!

I find that an empty hammock is an almost irresistable item.

But only for a minute or two once you're in it.

I had the create your own pasta with mushrooms and peas.

pkondz is not a fan of peas, so I'll pass on that one.

Thanks for offering, though.

Thanks for reading along folks!
See ya real soon! :wave2:

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Back from a short hunting trip. Looks like I'm only a chapter behind. I'll comment more later, just letting you know I'm still around.

Tuesday- September 3: DHS

Narrator: After our stars drank their worries away, will they be able to coherently walk today? Let's find out in the next installment of: MOOSE AND GOOSE- THE 5TH ANNIVERSARY IS THE DISNEY TRIP ANNIVERSARY TRIP REPORT!

Today I slept in until 9.... I say I because a wonderful CM decided he needed to blow all the leaves off of the stairs that were RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR DOOR! I am a light sleeper and Moose can sleep through a train outside the door... literally... used to have a train track in my back yard and it woke me up every 3 hours at night when it went through... he on the other hand snored right through it every time!

Not a happy Becca does this make.

I got up, went to the bathroom and played candy crush... yes, I'm one of THOSE people.
I played around and wrote in my trip journal until 9:30 when I got bored and woke up the snoring Moose.

We got up and got ready to go... we made it to DHS by 11 that mroning.

I had an agenda this morning too... do anything and everything in DHS I'd never done before.
That means... if you read Nebo's TR... the thing that if he participates in, you KNOW he's going to get hurt in....
that's right!
Indiana Jone's Stunt Spectacular. Yes... I know... living in Indiana, I should have seen this before, but I haven't.
We got there as they were getting ready to put the rope up... everyone was already in their seats, so we had the very last seats in the house. 3rd row, all the way to the right, along the stairs-- sitting in the sun. Not so much fun.

*note, no Nebo to be injured here.

FIRE!

As you can tell by the angle of the pictures, we were on the far right side of the audience. Basically right in front of where the plane gets parked at the end of the show.
When the fire went off, we could feel the heat from where we were.

Then, we went to the Star Tours ride... which was a walk on. ...NO, I've never done this either.
Here's a picture of R2D2 as I'm walking through the queue.

We did the pod race.

When we got out of Star Tours, it was starting to rain. So, ponchos out!
We walked over to one of our favorite spots... the Writer's Shop.

A. because Castle is one of our favorite shows... we watch it EVERY Monday night.
And B. because we like to go rest in there after a day of walking.... however, they've redone that shop like twice and it's not as inviting as it was.

Then we decided it was time for lunch... it was about 12:15 at this point.
So, we decided to try somewhere we've never been before. And since we were nearby... we went to the Sci-Fi diner. We put our names in and had a 15 minute wait.

Me waiting... I tried to hold the phone, but it's nailed down. POO!

Then we were taken to our car.... kinda hard to see us... but we're cute!

They show clips of old black & white sci-fi movies... and Tom & Jerry "space" cartoons.

I noticed the license plates... very cute.

Moose and I had the same thing... "The Famous All American Picnic Burger" description from the menu: Flame-broiled Angus Burger Patty topped with Grilled Hot Dog, Sauerkraut, and Sautéed Onions, crowned with a Pickle Spear served with a choice of Cucumber Salad or French Fries. Moose ordered his without the sauerkraut and onions... but I had mine with everything.

I had a vanilla coke and he had a cherry coke.
We each had a milkshake. Mine was cookies and milk and his was chocolate. We loved the food and the atmosphere. Neither of us had been there before and we both agreed we wanted to go back!

After lunch we went to the Muppets 3D... we had done it before, but I was on a mission to find the key under the mat.
I was utterly distraught that they not only took the key away, but the mat as well! It had just been refurbished, so they must have taken that out. WHY, DISNEY, WHY?!?!?!

Here's what I did get pictures of though.
Miss Piggy's wardrobe.

The projector:

To prove where we really were:

Then... we went to Toy Story Mania! We had a 45 minute wait.

I have the pictures on my phone of who won... and I can't get to those just now...

Then we went to something we'd never done before... The Cap'n Jack Experience. The hologram of Johnny Depp was pretty neat, but he was pretty far away, so that was sad. Also, the story surrounding it was kinda lame.

But he looks pretty real:

Then, my plan was to draw a Disney character at the drawing class... because we didn't even know the drawing class existed until I read about it on the Dis Boards. BUT- on the way, we found a picture place with WRECK IT RALPH!
Super cute decor on the wall behind their picture place.

Once again, I have a picture of us with Ralph & Vanelopy and I can't get to it.

We couldn't find the drawing class room at first.. we walked around alot to find it.
Then, when we did, we were the last two let in for the next class.
We sat in the front row, with the lap drawing boards. I'm not a great artist, so here's my version of Goofy.

Of course he's unfinished.

That's all I've got for now.
See ya real soon! :wave2:

I heard they have a GREAT carrot cake cookie at the Writer's stop!

and how dare they take the keyout from under the mat at muppets? did you look up at the "net full of Jello" (annette Funicello)? :rotfl:

we weren't that thrilled with sci fi, but that burger you had sound pretty yummy. maybe we'll have to give it another chance. I wouldn't want to use a DDP TS credit, though.

we did eat once at mama melrose. I liked it better than nebo did. I had a pork chop with stuffing, and I thought the decor was kinda pretty.

seems like every time we eat at DHS, it's always at prime time.. it IS hard to resist the fried chicken. and the last 2 times we ate there, we split an appetizer one 4 piece chicken meal and a huge shake.

always wanted to try the Brown Derby (just to "knock it off" the list), but man, doesn't seem worth 2 TS credits.

since we aren't big fans of Fantasmic (that is one thing Disneyland does much better, even thought there is no seating), we seem to take a boat from DHS over to beach club or boardwalk to eat if we are using a TS credit that night..

we never got around to the Capt. Jackattraction.. have to do that. I have done the animation class twice; nebo once. I think it's great fun! I also did it when we stayed at Art of Anicamtion resort. they have the class in the lobby, it was me and about 20 kids! :rotfl2:

After our stars drank their worries away, will they be able to coherently walk today?

Good choice of words.
Walk? I have no doubt...
but coherently?

Nah...

a wonderful CM decided he needed to blow all the leaves off of the stairs that were RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR DOOR!

He probably knew what kind of day you'd had the day before and didn't want you tripping over them.

Wasn't that nice of him?

used to have a train track in my back yard and it woke me up every 3 hours at night when it went through.

You must've been in a perpetual state of exhaustion.

Not a happy Becca does this make.

Uh, oh.

I wouldn't have believed you otherwise.

Oh Pecans! You never cease to make me giggle!
The Capt'n Jack experience is in a weird hallway next to TSM. Honestly, we did it once and that's probably the only time we'll ever do it. The hologram was cool, but it really lacked anything other than that.
YES.. I SAID POO!

So, sorry I didn't get to post this afternoon. We've had really bad storms and I haven't been able to post (because I usually post from work... and obviously I've been swamped). Sorry guys! Hopefully I can tomorrow!

Narrator: When we last left our cohorts, they had just finished drawing what appeared to be a "zombie" Goofy. But the evening before them could be epic... or an epic fail... which will it be?

So, after the drawing class, I checked the times for TOT & RNRC on my phone and because the times weren't too long, I asked Moose if he wanted to go with me. Moose said his stomach was bothering him and for me to go by myself.
I got in the single rider line for TOT... which was a walk on. FAB!

Then I went over to RNRC, which was only a 10 minute wait!

When I met back up with Moose, he had gotten himself a water... and wasn't looking that great. :worried:
On our way out, we stopped by a store near the entrance and found the selection of hats... I tried on one that reminds me of one of my best friends... Jessie.

One last stop before we left DHS for the day:

We got onto the bus and it started to rain. What timing! On the back wall of the bus, I noticed this... and it sparked a conversation.

What is that?! No smoking, no eating hot dogs... no cassette tapes? No robots? No front of a semi? No toaster ovens? I have NO idea what that is supposed to be on the end. Anybody?

We went back to the room to freshen up and take a little nap before our big evening plans... the Tomorrowland Terrace Party! This was on my Disney Bucket list... so I was SUPER excited to be able to mark it off. I heard about this from BrookElizabeth, here on the boards... (she's a Dis travel agent). So, I was SO excited when the husband told me we could sign up for it! The very first second we could make reservations, we did.

When we got back to the room (around 4 p.m.), took a short nap, showered and changed, before we headed off to the Magic Kingdom. It was still raining when we left and I was worried about the fireworks being canceled and the whole thing being ruined.
Every about 5 minutes or less I checked my Weather app... there was a HUGE green and yellow blob on the radar, headed right for us! I knew we were going to be rained out for sure.
We walked down Main Street and turned right at Casey's, and went over to the "Tomorrowland Terrace". Where we saw a line that was REALLY long!

Now, for those of you who don't know, the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party is am all you care to eat dessert buffet that goes on during Wishes and the Castle show. And the terrace is closed to anyone who does not have a ticket.

After checking my weather app 20 more times, and waiting about 10 minutes for CMs to open the terrace, we went to the kiosk and gave them our name... he looked and looked and looked... I was getting worried.
The CM at the podium said "do you have your reservation information?"
I did, luckily and handed her the papers.
"Oh.. yep, here it is... we had your name spelled wrong."
YAY! WE'RE IN!

... to be continued in next post....

Continued from above post.

A lovely CM showed us to our table.... all the tables are reserved with your name on it, so you can't just pick which table you want to sit at.
I was told the earlier you put in your reservation, the better seat you got.
What table did we get?
How about instead of telling you... I SHOW you..

THE BEST ONE IN THE HOUSE! Front row, first one in the row! WOW! We were BEYOND excited to have this view and be here!
How would you like to have THIS VIEW!?!?! It was AMAZING!
People would come by the railing and ask us to take their pictures.. because we were RIGHT THERE! I was still worried about the weather though... would Wishes still go? Would Tink still fly?

After everyone was seated, the CM told us we could go to the buffet... before I got up, I asked him... what happens if it rains? Will they cancel the dessert party? He said "you're already in. If the fireworks get rained out, you'll still get to have dessert."
I wasn't happy with that answer... but went to the buffet anyway.

They had: from left to right:
tiramisu (in the ceramic mugs), mango sorbet shooters (bottom- which tasted like baby food), coffee-laced Tiramisu(top), key lime pie tarts (bottom), canolis (top), cookies (bottom).

On the other side:
Chocolate peanut butter tart cups, apple pie tarts, banana foster tarts, rice krispie treats, chocolate covered strawberries, fresh fruit.

And they had a soft serve ice cream machine. My goal was to try one of each.

and... ice cream:

However, I did not have a rice krispie treat.

Here are some pictures, pre-wishes.
"Selfie" of us and the Castle.

one of my favorite pictures is a panoramic picture I took from our table.... which apparently didn't register in photobucket.
view from our seat, to the right:

to the left:

At some point between the Castle show and Wishes a guy was sitting next to us..... and there was a family of four at the table behind us. The guy at the table next to us told the other person at his table:
"You see that cable from the top of the Castle? That's the guide wire for Tinkerbell... that's how she flies."
Now usually, I don't listen to what people say... especially when I'm in public and generally surrounded by mean people and/or idiots... However, this man said it rather loudly, while pointing right at the wire... AND being surrounded by children.
I turned to the man and said "Sir, you are mistaken. I don't see ANY wire.. and Tinkerbell flies with magic and Fairydust."
I nodded my head toward the children standing a mere 5 feet from us, on the railing who were now turned around looking at us.
"OH!" The man said nodding his head. "I'm sorry. I thought it was for Tinkerbell."
"No, I don't know why it's there, but Tinkerbell uses magic and Fairydust to fly down from the Castle."

I turned back to Moose and sort of whispered to him "I get that he's an adult and that he gets how it works, but that doesn't mean he should spoil the magic and wonder for all of the children."
Moose nodded in agreement. Honestly, I was VERY angry at the man... but knew getting angry and explaining to him WHY I was upset with what he said, would probably only set him off, possibly lead to a fight and then get us all kicked out.... so I tried to get him to understand... with the children there... that this was a MAGICAL place and even if the laws of physics say that no one... not even a light up fairy can actually fly... that that doesn't apply in Disney World... especially not in the MAGIC Kingdom. Lesson- do not try to spoil the magic for everyone else because you are a fuddy-duddy-stick-in-the-mud-know-it-all.

Sorry- rant over.

ARE YOU READY FOR WISHES PICTURES?:

Sadly, as you can see, people walked up to the railing when the fireworks started... but it was okay because we still had a great view.
Here is a video I took... you can REALLY tell when Tinkerbell flies from the Castle and lands.. ABOVE MY HEAD!
Also, she WAVED RIGHT AT ME! Which I TOTALLY freak out about (and you can TOTALLY hear it on the video).
In the video, it's kind of hard to hear, but my camera is picking up the booms and drowns out the music... and it's picking up the people around us talking better than the music... but it was NOT hard to hear and at times I was singing along.
Enjoy Becca's freak out over Tinkerbell, here (make sure your speakers are on):
(Tinkerbell lights up at 1:40, Becca freaks out at 1:41 & 2:04).... hopefully one of these links works.

After Wishes, EVERYONE but us left. The place was desserted and quiet!

It was at this point that I realized.... I stopped checking my weather app... and it hadn't rained! AND TINKERBELL FLEW! Not only that... SHE WAVED AT ME!

So, we stayed and enjoyed the ambiance. We had no where to be... so I had some ice cream and a chocolate covered strawberry and had some milk.
And we got to see the Castle show again.

While the second Castle show was going Moose called his parents and updated them... and told them the next time they came to Disney they HAD to go to the dessert party!

It was now that it started to lightly rain.

Then a videographer showed up and set his tripod up about 20 feet from us. Being a former videographer myself, I went over and struck up a conversation with him. He told me his name was Mike and that he mainly worked with Yellow Shoes- which is Disney's PR company... and my new goal for who to work for when I grow up! He took my picture... I had my picture taken by a bonified Disney Public Relations CM!

After chatting with him for about 20 minutes, it was finally time for us to go.
It was a WONDERFUL night! But the park was officially closed!

We walked to the buses in a light rain... the park had mainly cleared out.

It was a WONDERFUL time! If you can, I would HIGHLY recommend you going the next time you're in Disney World!
Thankfully this time we didn't have to wait 2 hours for a bus! It was only a 15 minute wait this time.

We went back to the room and decided we were hungry for actual food. So, Moose decided to order a pizza... which delivery is complimentary to the room.
Pepperoni pizza:

After we ate all but 2 slices, we put the rest in the fridge and went to bed after a LONG day!

What would tomorrow hold for us?

SCORE!!! on the great table! those clouds looked really ominous though.. so hard to tell in florida. It look slike it's going to POUR in about 15minutes, and then it goes away.

glad to hear you and tink are besties now!

did you see the "kiss goodnight"?
