When my DH and I used ECV's in Disneyland, they allowed only one ECV on the whole monorail at a time. The rider drove onto the monorail and it was strapped/belted in place, much like the busses at Disney World. So DH and I had to take separate monorails.

At Disney World we were able to get both scooters into one monorail car, nobuddy was strapped in place, and we saw another scooter in the car next to us. Why the different policy?

Different monorail vehicles and different laws. The WDW monorails are much larger and California has different laws on lots of things compared to Florida.

Also DL's monorails lean in the curves, when WDW's don't. DL's monorail stared out as ride so it has some tight banked turns that it does between the DTD station and the one in Tomorowland.

Just adding to what is already posted,
WDW doesn't have the same monorails or the same rules as Disneyland. A very long time ago, they did have monorail tiedowns on the WDW monorails, but they stopped using them in the 1980s. Since the WDW monorails have very gradual turns, they don't need tiedowns.

Thanks for your insights. I asked a monorail cast member at WDW and he didn't have a clue.

If he joined as a CM after about 1988 or so, he probably never saw the WDW monorail tiedowns.
