One of our monorail drivers told us that they were going to run Soarin' as it is for about a year, which is all California scenes, and then they are going to change it to be Soarin' Around the World, with scenes from all over the earth, which would tie in nicely with the Epcot global awareness theme. I hope they do! I loved Soarin' just as it is, but would love to see more of our beautiful planet Earth. As long as they leave the ending to be that of either Disneyland or Disney World. :goodvibes

I actually read this in a Disney publication. I think it was my DVC Vacation Magic newsletter. They said they are currently filming the new around the world scenes and like you said, will let the CA scenes run for another year and then switch to the world scenes. If my memory serves me right, they didn't mention any hard dates, just vogue references like you and the monorail driver mentioned.

But I agree, I think the world scenes would be fantastic. I still have yet to ride Soarin' but will get my first chance this Dec. I can't wait from what everyone is saying about it.

That would be wonderful!!! I haven't even been on THIS Soarin' yet (since I only go February each year), but I think that would just be amazing!!! I hope this rumor is true :)

I've been told... and... this is COMPLETE RUMOR.... that they all might have a "Disneyland" ending. Thats the rumor for locations around the world at least......

Go Rumor Mill go! lol...

When we were on Soarin' in June, the one CM was one of the Imagineers who developed the ride. He was there helping out through the celebration. He too said the film would be changing once the celebration was over and that they were currently filming it. That is why the WDW version is called Soarin' and not Soarin over California like the DL version. I doubt they would make it much longer though because the ride doesn't have a very high load capacity as is.

We just did Soarin' for the first time and it was wonderful! There are warnings for people with a fear of heights and motion sickness (that would be me) but I decided to tough it out. We'll be there in December with my granddaughter and I'd rather freak out next to my husband than with her. So I tried it and LOVED it. The scenes are spectacular and it ends with Disneyland fireworks -- perfect! Can't wait to go again with my little princess!

Still smelling the orange groves....we rode again yesterday before leaving! :cloud9:

Wow that sounds fantastic! I'm going down to WDW in 15 days and I can't wait to see Soarin'! I hope that it holds up to my expectations! :goodvibes

That sounds like a great idea! I would say; however, that monorail drivers are notorious for starting rumors. I hope it is true!

An around the world theme would tie it in perfectly to Epcot, I really like the sound of that!

I really glad about this. I liked the CA scenes but the world scenario fits in better.

I mentioned this idea to my son on our trip in August/Sept. when I noticed that it is always called just "Soarin". It never made sense to me to have a California movie in Florida. I thought they might do the whole US, but the world would be even better.

Very cool! But I would hate the see the Disneyland ending change. I certianly hope it doesnt.

Rather than the DL ending it might be nice to have WDW Wishes and Cinderella Castle end it. I loved it every time I rode it this summer. But a world view would be so much more appropriate for Epcot.
