Moms to be Part 4

Are any of you in the 20-some week range really uncomfortable already? I'm having a heck of a time bending over (which I have to do a LOT of because DD frequently drops things on the floor... ugh) and it just plain hurts, food comes up my throat, and did I mention it hurts? I just feel so uncomfortable, I'm so much bigger with this little guy than I was with DD, I'm probably as big as I was around 30-32+ weeks with DD.

Mrs. C: I am having trouble bending over pain free as well, and starting to get increasingly uncomfortable (which I know will only get worse!). I can't comment on my size; this is the first time I've gotten this far, so IDK what is normal for me or anyone else :goodvibes:

I hear ya! Just trying to roll over in bed is becoming a real pain (literally!). I looked in the mirror the other day and thought.....geez, I'm only 7 months....what in the world am I going to look like at 9??!! :rotfl:

And, now the weather here is hot, hot hot!! It went from a beautiful spring to a sweltering summer overnight. I went out to look for some summer clothes....shorts, cute cotton dress, etc....totally failed. Went to Old Navy, Kohls, and Motherhood. I was really disappointed with the selection at ON and Kohls. They each had about 3 racks of maternity and that was it. Motherhood really didn't impress me, but I did get a couple of shirts. Target is my last hope before having to order online, which is scary since I want to try on shorts before buying.

Oh good... its not just me!! :lmao:

Rolling over is becoming really hard for me, too. Sometimes it feels like my hips are really loose and it seriously feels like they'll give out when I stand! Ouch! I just don't remember being this miserable.. but I was on bedrest, and I didn't have a 3 y/o to keep alive and happy!

Our warmer weather is hit or miss. Some days I'm in a hoodie and jeans, other days I'm in shorts and tank tops. Thankfully my maternity shorts still fit, but I am SOL with everything else. None of my shirts fit, even DH's shirts are getting tight! (This is how I know I'm much larger this time, I used to swim in DH's shirts when I was in my 3rd tri with DD) I've also been really disappointed with the maternity clothes that are out now. Stinks-- last year all the 'babydoll' maternity-looking shirts were all the rage, and now I can't find a single one. It's not even like I"m looking for a whole wardrobe, I want a few pair of longer shorts that don't make my butt look like a truck, and a few shirts that aren't tents or have cheezy sayings. Or look like something my grandma would wear. As of right now... I'm striking out!

Between my back already being sore and the round ligament pain it gets very uncomfortable. I've also found it getting harder and harder to fit comfortably in my bath tub. I know I'm a big girl to begin with, but I seem to be larger and larger. I've only gained 15 lbs. I saw a friend that hadn't seen me since I got pregnant and she was like wow your big. I was huge with my DD so I expect I'll be huge this time as well.

Being a plus size girl there are even fewer options for maternity clothes. I've so far found most of my best finds in resale shops. I've found 2 pr of shorts, 1 pr capris, and about 3 shirts. I've actually found I can still wear some of my non maternity clothes that were the higher waist. I also ended up getting a regular dress, just in a size larger. I did splurge on a Motherhood swimsuit as I plan to spend some time in the local pools and lake to survive the heat. The heat wave hit this past weekend and I had forgotten what it's like to be pregnant and in hot humid weather.

Mrs. C: I hear you on the hips too. Wow, do mine hurt when I get out of bed or if I stand wrong or too fast...or even step wrong. I also can't find maternity clothes that are decent, but I am going to have to, I am rotating between very few shirts and pants now and cannot wear my DH's clothes; he is a big, broad shouldered guy and I was an XS before I got pregnant

I totally agree TSRE! I am loving my life, now. I live in the moment. In fact, last week, I had a thought about how much I am going to miss all of the craziness that comes with raising kids....the time is so short!!!
!

I think that is a great attitude - I love the craziness, too. We took all 6 nieces, nephews & kids in our family to dinner recently, and I was in heaven in the happy chatter (not that I will be having 6 of my own!

I think no matter how old or young you are, there will always be people that have something snide or negative to say. Here's my take, it's not quite the same but similar. We feel like we're getting the same BS from people our age (me-29/dh-32) from the newly married couples that don't have kids yet. I'm happy with my life, I'm done with the 'bar scene', I'm happy being a mom, I don't see what their problem is. And yes, I'd be going to WDW with or withour kids, thankyouverymuch! ;) Ironically, one of those women that gave us that BS is now pregnant with their first. :lmao:

There are many ladies that would kill to be in your shoes-- be it from secondary infertility, or a DH who just isn't "into" another baby. I think it's wonderful. There are so many wonderful things that outweight the sleepless nights. Holding that little teeny life in your arms and just watching them sleep, how is that not the bees knees?!!

Haha, frozen bananas...mmmmmm.... <drool>

Sooo done with the bar scene myself (was never that into it in the first place. ANd that is exactly the "life" my friend can't wait to get back to! Different strokes I guess.

Ha! Didn't even think of the frozen bananas - you made me smile :goodvibes

Oh I get this all the time. Why am I going back to diapers now that DD is heading to middle school. Or was this an accident that we got pregnant. I admit I did not plan to wait this long between kids, but due to ppd and other personal issues I just wasn't ready, but I am now. So what if I'll be 53 when the baby graduates and DH will be 66. DH is excited with the fact that will be able to spend time with this child. I love the fact that we are financially stable and can afford to have this baby and another if we want.

I'm now 23 weeks and baby's movements have changed from the rolling and gentle movements to kicks and nudges. I forgot how neat it is to feel this. Hopefully soon DH and DD will be able to feel the baby's kicks. I've also been helping my Best friend plan the baby shower. It looks like we will do it mid June as July is just so busy and August Kids start back to school. I admit I'm worried its a bit early for a shower, but then again I've never had a baby shower before so. It looks like we have settled firmly on the name Daniel Edward Johnson.

Thanks, that makes me feel much less alone. I think of where my parents are in their mid-60s, and 53 is so young, with so much life left! My mom started her current career at that age. I like the name :)

This weekend we did a lot of work on our nursery, and got most of our big items purchased. DH set up the crib. I couldn't believe how big it looked in baby's bedroom compared to in the showroom (our house has really small rooms)! We also bought an antique dresser that will double as our changing table for a reasonable price and the materials for DH to build some shelves in the room. Some of our decorative things arrived too, and I can't wait to put them up. I also put together the stroller (it was really easy; it surprised me) and I love it!

We went to BRU on Thursday since we got some one day coupons and made great use of them. We got a temporal thermometer for half off, 33% off 2 packs of cloth diapers to use as burp cloths etc, a $10 gift card with the purchase of $50 worth of diapers and wipes, 20% off our crib mattress, and bought our carseat. It wasn't the Mickey Mouse one I wanted, but it is a nice carseat. It was in the clerance section for quite a bit off the orgional price because it was an online return they don't sell in stores, then with a 20% off coupon it ended up being almost 50% off! We also won the crib set we wanted off of eBay (new in the bag, for 33% off retail, so it was a good weekend.

Have a great day everyone!

How great to have accomplished so much! Where do you get coupons for BRU at?

Oh my, I feel your pain. I am easily as big right now at 16 weeks as I was at 6 or even 7 months with #1 Had to show DH u/s pictures to prove it isn't twins bc I was so big so quickly. It is harder with a toddler or preschooler - so much physical work just to meet their basic needs. Hang in there :flower3:

I found the same thing at Old Navy and Kohl's, but did reasonably well at Motherhood after scouring the racks. My favorite shorts are from there, but I swear they were hiding them in the store :rotfl: Our Targets have NOTHING at the moment - I spilled coffee all over myself on my way to work & stopped in to buy a shirt - ugh. There were like 3 choices, and I didn't like any. I did pretty well ordering from Old Navy online with codes from Retail Me Not, but I read the reviews on everything and followed them. Their sizing is so wacko. I have a pair of size 1 shorts that fit - I think the last time I was really a size 1 I was 11 years old.

Oh, and our Burlington Coat Factory is the same - but not so bad I wont go there if there is a good deal. Just moderately scary people, and its dirty. I'll only go during the day. They just opened a new one in a nicer area, though - I'm hoping it will stay nicer.

Went to the dr. yesterday for my 36 week appointment and am 1cm dialated 50 percent effaced and cervic is soft. If I don't have her before the 14th of June she said she will induce on that day. Yay! Just hoping I go into labor on my own

TSRE: I signed up for the free rewards program at Babies R Us. About once a month they e-mail a PDF file full of one day coupons. Also, everytime we buy something they give us 20% off coupons good for the following week or two, plus usually some other coupons (IDK if that is for everyone or just the rewards members). I'm not sure what the rewards are (didn't pay attention; a friend just reccommended it to me for the coupons!) but so far I have gotten a lot of mileage out of the discounts!

Same here. There's also one on the back of this week's Toys R Us ad, but if you look at the weekly ad on the TRU site, you can print it out!

Oh, and I'm yet to be "rewarded" for any purchases, lol. Sorry, BRU, I just don't think your diaper deals are that much of a deal! :lmao:

Luckily and somewhat embarrassingly, DH is not a heck of a lot bigger than I am, but with work his shoulders have gotten a lot bigger. He's 5'6'' and broad shouldered... I'm 5'3'' and broad shouldered. LOL. I'm an athletic build with some fluff on top, makes it really hard to buy clothes!

I feel for you - I am so uncomfortable with this pregnancy already! It is so much harder to bend over b/c DD is so much higher than DS was!

Woo-hoo! :woohoo:

Weird, I have the rewards card, but I don't get those e-mails, I will have to check the website....

ITA - even the sale price is still more expensive than Wal-Mart or Target!

As for maternity clothes, my shorts are still from my last pregnancy, which I think were purchased at Target and Old Navy. The stores don't have much in them, but Old Navy has a good selection online, if you know your size. I saw a lot of shorts at the Kohl's here, but didn't try any of them on so don't know how they fit. We may have more luck with summer clothes here, since it's summer weather 9 months out of the year! We already hit 100 last Friday, but it really didn't feel that bad yet.

Oh, I had the weirdest dream last night. I have not been craving sweets at all this pregnancy, other than fruit, until the last few days. Last night I was dreaming there was a pastry shop in my house! And they had the most awesome, delicious pastries EVER! :rotfl2: What a crazy but wonderful dream! :cloud9:

I noticed when I was signing up you have to check the box for the promotional e-mails - maybe it didn't get checked?

Mmmmmm... pastry. In my house. I would be in heaven.

Is anyone else sweating like crazy? It finally got warm here and it is impossible for me to cool down. I am use to heat, I grew up in Houston, TX, but right now, I am defiantly sweating for two.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the congratulations! Allie & I are doing great, she's napping all the time so I'm not too exhausted yet...well no, I'm pretty tired. She doesn't sleep well at night, my mom is sleeping downstairs for now because my tailbone is bruised so badly it takes like 10 minutes just for me to get out of bed and a baby with a soiled diaper does not wait 10 minutes! The feeding is going better, we are using a shield to help for now but I'm hoping to eliminate that too. I love cuddling while feeding though, she always falls asleep and when shes done I put her up on my chest to burp her and then I fall asleep and we nap like that

I've been good since blacking out too, I think that was just being so exhausted and losing all the blood that comes with giving birth. I'm definitely feeling pretty great. My mom is now planning a WDW vacation for all of us because they were going anyway but she doesn't think she could leave us for that long...she's very attached after watching the birth and being right there! I'll gladly go to WDW even if it is with a baby...I'll do ride swap with my sister or dad.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful summer and I hope you all have healthy, happy babies! :goodvibes

I'm definitely feeling as though I'm 5-7 weeks ahead (I'm 27w). Last night I had trouble breathing while laying on my back. I was able to move my hips a little and get comfortable, but I foresee very few days left of back sleeping. Makes me so sad!

And my back has been hurting more and more. Usually when I'm sitting at the computer I slouch which is not helping me at all.

And I've been having to take Tums each night for a couple months. At least it works though. :thumbsup2

I'm not sweating much yet, but I can't tolerate heat well. I feel like it makes me dizzy and yucky. It's kinda funny to me because I'm very cold natured.

I don't know how you ladies who live in warm weather areas do it!! We live in the Northeast and it was HOT today and I was MISERABLE....haha. I don't normally tolerate heat well, but I realized for the first time today that it is going to be a long, hot summer!

My heartburn is unreal. I take Tums every night and it's still bad. Diet modification makes no difference. I can have a plain piece of toast or a mexican meal and I will get heartburn both times. I have a Dr appt on Thursday and I am going to ask what else I can take because I cannot deal with it for another 12 or so weeks.....

We have to travel about 4 hrs this weekend to visit DH's dad. I am awful, but I am soooo not looking forward to it. I'm tired and uncomfortable and I really am not sleeping great, so not having my own bed is going to suck! Ok, I will change my attitude....or at least try ;)

I wish! Bring on the heat! It was 80 here in PA today, I was in heaven! :cloud9:

Awww!! I'm so glad you two are happy and healthy. :goodvibes Enjoy these days, they don't last long. Enjoy every little minute of it!

That's so sweet of your mom to plan a WDW vaca for all of you. Take pics and show them to us!! :cloud9:

I feel like I'm well into my 3rd trimester, too. ugh!! I still haven't had the trouble breathing, but I'm a side sleeper, so I'm a bit biased. I went to buy some Zantac today, but they didn't have what I wanted... boo. I don't want to take 150 when 75 might work, kwim? I wish Tums worked, they only make me barf! :scared1:

I was enjoying the heat today :cool1: I can't wait until the pool opens, woohoo! I am dying to float along...no weight on my joints or hips. It also fascinates me how preggo bellies float!

I totally hear you on the heartburn, I barely slept last night, we had Dominos for dinner and omg... I was MISERABLE! I had to sleep sitting up! No fun. It continued all day, and like I mentioned before I couldn't find the Zantac I wanted. I hope tonight is a little better, I ate a little ice cream so hopefully that will help. I'd definitely ask your Dr. about what he's comfortable with you taking, sometimes you just need a little extra oomph.

I don't think I could travel 4h at this point... I'm so uncomfrotable. I can go to Target, the mall, Chick Fil A, ... but 4h? I dunno. My mom is a little peeved that we're not driving up to see her (a little under 3h with the way I drive... slow as molasses) and well, the bed there is hard as a rock, it's a long drive, I'm exhausted, DH is exhausted... and well.. just ...no.

Oh! We got the Baby Jogger Micro (double) that we ordered today! Woohoo! I like it! Sure it's not the Mini, but hey... I'm ok with spending $200 instead of $400!
