Baby waved during the ultrasound - little hand up by the face - we got to take a pic home - my DH was so excited he posted it on facebook with a comment that his baby waved at him - got a ton of replies - he is so excited!
How cute that LO waved at you guys during the U/S. At my 12w u/s, the baby barely moved!
I had her in my arms and all the while my little guy was moving and kicking. This went on for about 30 min. It was almost as if the two cousins were communicating with each other. Sounds silly I know but it was a very cool feeling.
How sweet!
As for where ZPT is...here is what she posted on Facebook today:
"Headache is still pretty bad, floaters too, BP was okay today at the office, swelling is bad, but FINALLY! we have a date. If nothing happens over the weekend I go in Monday for an induction which is 39 weeks exactly according to the later due date
I have migraine meds to get me through the weekend and Ambien so I can get some rest"
So hopefully the next time we hear from her she will have a birth story for us!
I hope ZPT is doing better and having that baby today!
I am petrified of something happening, especially now that we have seen the little guy. I have no reason to think anything will, but I am actually having panic attacks over this.
I feel a bit better today. Maybe part of it was that Firday was my due date for the baby I miscarried, so it just brought my anxiety to the forefront, and just having a lot of other stuff going on!
I'm glad to hear you're doing better with the trip, hopefully all goes well. I have 4 trips planned in the next month and am starting to panic about some of them, especially the long flights and trip to Mexico!
I really was afraid something was going to happen but I talked to my parents and they said "pregnant people go on trips all the time" so it helped to just get some of my fears off my chest.
So true. I know I went on trips when I was pg with DS and didn't have half the stress I do this time.
Joining in!!!! We have baby #3 arriving on or about September 23, 2010. I am so excited to see that this looks like a nice mommy board

With my prior 2 pregnancies, I did not go on any message boards. This go round, I decided to try and I was on the babycenter boards. Believe me, I am no prude, but the discussions get weird and a bit mean over there!! I am so glad to be here!!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Welcome! I think you are closest to my due date!

I usually go on the babycenter boards (September birth month) once a day or so, but feel so much safer and calmer over here.

How old are your other kids?
Well ladies, I go in tomorrow for a cervical to see where we are. Hopefully we'll be able to get some decisions made about what to do about him being breech, too. I'm still undecided about letting them try to turn him if they offer. I assume I also get the fun of the group b strep test, but according to my paper, they just do one swab. I'm hoping to avoid the second swab! That is so gross!
I hope all goes well at your appointment. I don't remember the swab being too bad last time, but it was a long time ago, so I could be wrong.
Yesterday we started our registry at BRU. Wow, talk about overwhelming! We put on a lot so we could get the 10% coupon later (as I'm sure we won't even come close to completing the main things on the registry!).
Yay on starting your registry! I went on and modified mine so many times the first time. I wish someone had told me about the 10% thing when I registered b/c I didn't put much on thinking I wouldn't be having a shower (very small family). After the shower I did have, my mom and I went to buy the rest and the 10% would have been nice, but I didn't find out about it until a few months later.
I just had to share, my big girl is wearing panties today!

Let's hope she keps them dry
Yay! That is such an exciting time - I hope she doesn't have any accidents! My mom claims she bribed me into potty training with the promise of "silky" panties

, and that I potty-trained my little sister by telling her that she was a big girl and big girls don't wear diapers!
Yay!! Good luck! The biggest challenge for us with a potty trained child is the need to visit EVERY public restroom. It's a fascination for some reason
I signed DD up for preschool this morning. We looked at a ton of them and so many were really nice and all but I just didn't get a feeling that any were a good fit. Finally, I visited a cooperative preschool nearby and fell in love. There was a waitlist though so I was cautiously optimistic. On Thursday, we got a call that DD was off the waitlist. Yay!! She will go two days a week for 2.5 hrs a day. I think it will be perfect. Anyone have experience with co-ops?? I am really excited because I love to be involved and DH and I are "joiners" so we like to volunteer etc.
I can't stand having to go to every public bathroom - especially when he doesn't have to even go!
One of the moms on the Toddler Moms group just joined a pre-school co-op. Her name is Bethany (son Owen). She was concerned with how much effort it would take on her part since she is already pretty busy, but liked the price for sure. I should try to find out if there is one in my area. Problem is that most things like that are run by a particular religious group here (that we are not members of), and they tend to be rather clique-ish.
We bought an InStep Grand Safari jogging stroller. We don't jog, but thought it would be a good stroller for us. We didn't like any of the travel systems (too clunky), but this one can take an infant car seat if we want to use it that way.
sounds like a great stroller - we hated the travel systems too since they are so big and heavy!
I got her this little fold-up potty seat so she doesn't have to hold on and balance.
Lots of rich snobby competitive moms here.
We have one of those fold-up potty seats too, but we only use it at home. It just seems like too much hassle to me to have another thing to carry into stores when running errands, and if I leave it in the car, it would take to long to run out and get it.
We have a similar problem with snobby moms here too - the religious group I mentioned above does not like women to work outside the home, so most are stay-at-home moms and I feel like they are judging me doubly because I work and am a different religion.
I wouldn't mind getting her involved in *something* but I'm just so skeptical.
That's gotta be nice being able to be there when she's there, the idea of dropping DD off terrifies me.
The first pre-school class I signed DS up for was a parent-tot class through the park district that met once a week. I think it was a good way to start out, since DS wasn't used to being dropped off anywhere or alone without someone he knows. He has a sitter when I go to work, but she comes to our house and is my cousin's MIL, so is also at family events and he knows her. Most of the parent-tot courses at our park district have an age limit of 3 years though, so you may need to look into that fast if it's an option.
