Moms to be Part 4

Well, he's breech. The doctor initially said she wouldn't try to turn him if she were me, then, after feeling to see if he was in my pelvis, she said she would try it. So now we're even more confused. We couldn't decide, but she said we needed to do it this week if we intended to do it. We're currently scheduled for my normal appointment on Monday, with an ultrasound. I don't know what we'll end up doing. It does sound like we're heading for a c-section, though. I'm too nervous about having him turned. Technically he could still turn. She said he did still have room. Ugh. Decisions, decisions...everything else was good, though.

Sara: I went to DL when I was 9 weeks, so not as far along, but I still avoided everything that said expectant mothers should not ride, so basically everything with a height restriction except for Soarin'. I still had a great time anyway! I also avoided the speedway cars in case someone hit me. The only ride I did that worried me at all was my favorite, Pirates. I am just paranoid by nature and the drops worried me (until I thought about how much worse landing in the airplane was). I'm sure the ride was perfectly safe, it has no warnings at all, but it still just sort of made me worry... We stayed on Harbor and walking B/F to the hotel was worse than anything else...made me exhausted!

WDWAurora: Hopefully he will turn all by himself and you won't be forced to make that decision.

I feel like baby is tapping on my cervix today...I don't know what he could be doing in there...he has been really active all day!

Aurora - I hope your LO turns on his own so you don't have to agonize over the decision, or endure the doc trying to turn him. :scared:

What is B/F here? I'm sure it's not breast-feeding for once! :rotfl:

Do you remember if there is a list anywhere of all the rides that expectant mothers should avoid? Or will I have to walk up to each ride and read the sign to find out?

LOL! Sorry, I meant Back and Forth to the hotel! I think the rides had big red triangles by them on the park maps, if I remember correctly.

This won't be complete by any means, since I am much more familiar with WDW than DL and have no interest in somethings anyway, but what I remember avoiding:

Tomorrowland
Space Mountain
Speedway Cars
Star Tours

Fantasyland
Matterhorn

Frontierland
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Adventureland
Indiana Jones

Critter Country
Splash Mountain

California Adventure
Tower of Terror
Grizzly River Run
California Screamin
Mulholland Madness
Swinging cars on Mickey's Fun Wheel
Maliboomer

I'm sure there were others, but I am forgetful these days!

Bummer. DD was too. She was breech from the get-go and never tried to turn or even move down into my pelvis. Because I'm so small, and my ab wall was tight, we didn't even attempt a version. Just the fact they told me they had to do it in the operating room sounded bad to me!

I hope he turns, and if he doesn't, c-section is not so bad. I'm electing for this next one. GL!

eew... I wondered how they get them out if they are in a strange position for the c-section. I'm not looking forward to this. Ugh... someone get me a drink!

Oh, boo. Go with your mommy intuition on this one. Glad everything else was OK!

I could so go for a WDW trip right now. We need a break! LOL

I always feel my little guy really low, and sometimes really high. I think my placenta is right in the front! He had a really active day the other day... today not so much. We're all sleepy though.

Eeeep! They wanted to do it in the OR?!! :scared1: That would freak me out. I did see one on tv, or at least part of one and it was in a regular hospital bad. Looked pretty uncomfortable, though.

eew... I wondered how they get them out if they are in a strange position for the c-section. I'm not looking forward to this. Ugh... someone get me a drink!

I saw this on one of the "Baby Story" type shows, I think they pull them out by the butt/legs/feet, whatever is most accessible.

You'll be fine! Whatever gets the baby out the safest, right?

just a quick note to say hi from the hospital. I have a whole bunch of stuff multi quoted on my home PC to respond to but never got a chance before I had to come here. Been here since the afternoon for my induction. Had one dose of cytotec so far, it's a pill to swallow so not too bad. Only 1 cm so far but that was before I even took the cytotec so not too bad! DH surprised me today and bought me a laptop, so that was nice, I have something to do while I'm bored here. ;) You can only walk the little loop so many times! Well, i hope everyone else is doing well, it hurts a little bit to type, the only vein they could get the IV in is in my wrist :headache: Hopefully I'll have an update soon and baby will be born!

Good luck, sweetie!! What a nice hubby, and what a great gift! :)

Man! We shopped til we dropped today. We hit the IKEA in Pittsburgh, had lunch, hit the Carter's outlet (in Washington, PA) and then a Target in Wheeling, WVa..... We were gone over 13 hours and Lucas slept all of 45 minutes in the car total. Poor boy CRASHED when we got him home and put him in his crib. :rotfl:

My thoughts changed completely upon getting there! I ended up HATING that changing table that they had advertised. I'm really glad I didn't do the phone order... I got a different set of dressers.
I ended up with this:

and this:

22499_PE107374_S3.jpg

I'm going to try putting contact paper over the top of the bottom one and then putting really strong velcro on it, and sewing a velcro pad on the back of the changing table top. We won't be able to live without a changing table and I think that will be sturdy enough for quite awhile, especially with an infant. Hopefully my plan works and isn't an utter fail.
Now I just have to find a crib to match the light wood. The one I had picked out won't work anymore. Hmm. Darn. More shopping. :rotfl:

I also got a "coming home" outfit at the Carter's outlet, a sleeper and a few onesies that will be Owen's stuff. I thought he deserved some new things, too. :rotfl: Oh, and I FINALLY found the "Birthday Boy" tee I've been looking all over town for. Woohoo.
I got some clearanced out Pull-Ups at Target, too. They had the 50ct boxes for $16.48 and I had a $2 coupon. Plus, they had Pamper's Splasher. I had the $1 coupon from the paper, the box had a $1 Target peelie on it and has free sunglasses in it, too. They've also got 20 swim diapers in the box instead of 11 like Huggies. Woohoo!

I just had to share, my big girl is wearing panties today! :cheer2: Let's hope she keps them dry :goodvibes

Awesome! Hope it was a good dry day yesterday!

We bought an InStep Grand Safari jogging stroller. We don't jog, but thought it would be a good stroller for us. We didn't like any of the travel systems (too clunky), but this one can take an infant car seat if we want to use it that way. We tried it out at a store and really liked it, and it is pretty nice looking, I think. It also has built-in MP3 speakers for baby.

kpm: sounds like the preschool you chose will be a good fit for your family. Good luck!

So I had to google the stroller and check it - looks awesome and you got a sale/discount price - very cool! I love a bargain

Sending good vibes to ZPT - looking forward to update and baby info

I just did some maternity clothes shopping over the weekend - can't wait until I get to start really shopping for our little one...I have been looking at the Chicco Liteway stroller - anyone have any reviews/opinions?

Good luck ZPT! Hope all went well or is going well!

I know I only really come on here to complain lol but man am I uncomfortable. Aline is still breech and is also sitting up really high. I can't breathe 90% of the time! I'm frustrated. I'm so ready for July to be here.. I'd even be ok with June! No sooner than that preferably. One of the ladies in my due date club just had her baby over the weekend, at 28 weeks. So scary.. luckily the little girl is doing well.

locolala: I'm sorry you are miserable and having trouble breathing :(
I hope the little girl bron early stays ok. scary.

I forgot to post, one of you mentioned going to WDW when you were about 4-5 months pregnant. We are planning a trip to DL for next month, so which rides did you avoid or wish you avoided? Did any rides or shows give you trouble?

I'm a little late today but...

MK: The Mountains
Tea Cups
The Barnstormer
Tomorrowland Speedway

EPCOT: Mission Space
Test Track

AK: Expedition Everest
Kali River Rapids
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl
They suggest the Safari, I'd use your own judgement. I went on it and was fine.

Studios: Rock'n Roller Coaster
Tower of Terror (Duh! LOL)

The signs say asking your doctor is a good idea. Mine had been to WDW before and told me to mainly use my judgement but anything with G-Force like pressure is not a good idea...(spinning and dropping for sure)

YAY! That's awesome. I wish I lived on the *other* side of PA, we'd make good shopping buddies. Poor Lucas! DD has been on shopping marathons like that with my mom and I! They're *looooong* days.

I was just going to say hthat I should run to Target and check out clearanced Pull Ups, but I guess I really don't need them much anymore. :sniff sniff: My little baby...

Mrs. Charming, I just saw these wall stickers and thought of you:

http://www.roommatespeelandstick.com/surfs-up-wall-decals.aspx

Oh they're super super cute!! :lovestruc The behbeh is gonna be in our room until we move (Feb '11-ish) but maybe we could put some up around his crib. Hmm...

Awesome! Hope it was a good dry day yesterday!

We had a semi-dry day, lol. She had an accident while playing in the sink. I guess all that water got to her, haha.

I'm having a hard time with maternity clothes this time around. I guess I"m just gonna stick with tank tops again. That's the beauty of being all huge in the summer.

I have no idea about the Chicco Liteway. Looks pretty nice, though, definitely something I'd use. I googled it and it got really good reviews! :thumbsup2

I totally remember that. DD was an early July baby too... almost June!
I can't imagine having a baby at 28 weeks, that poor woman must be scared out of her mind. Little girls are fighters, though!

Other than that, it's a verrrrry slow day here too. It's just gray and rainy. DD is still in bed! I actually slept in myself, which was really nice. My bladder doesn't often let me do that, haha.

Ugh I was just on this couponing message board that I used to frequent (hotcouponworld) and saw that the new Pampers Dry Max diapers are giving babies chemical burn type rashes, and apparently they're "sneaking" the dry max into the older packaging style Swaddlers. Ugh!! I hope I didn't get those packs. Cloth diapering is now looking more appealing.

We're still looking for a car... ugh. Buying a car is a PITA!! It's like we know what we want, one just has to pop up. Car buying is so competitive around here, too... Saturday we found a Chevy Venture online. We got dressed and ready and went to look at it-- but we first drove through the other dealers to see if there was a better offer. Well, we got there, and someone else just bought it. :headache: I'm still annoyed about that one!

The Target we went to had Pamper's old Cruisers clearanced out, too. Maybe you could grab a few packages that aren't the dry-max kind.

I mostly use Huggies... only get Pampers when I have a coupon and I was coupon-less last night so I passed on them.

I grabbed the Pull-Ups (which I, obviously, won't need for awhile) because it seems like those hardly ever get included in the sales at the drug stores. So I thought with the coupon it was worth storing the box for awhile!!

Ok, Ms. Charming, you have to share you secret for getting DD to sleep so late....haha. DD is a good sleeper but she's up by 7:30am the absolute latest, usually it's more like 6:30am. She does take a 2 hr afternoon nap though so I get some alone time.....

I'm so torn about strollers. I feel like I should get a double, but DD will be 3 yrs and 3 months when DS arrives so I wonder exactly how much use we will get out of it?? Then I think about it in practical terms and the thought of going to the mall with her walking the whole time if frightening....
