Moms to be Part 4

Ok, Ms. Charming, you have to share you secret for getting DD to sleep so late....haha. DD is a good sleeper but she's up by 7:30am the absolute latest, usually it's more like 6:30am. She does take a 2 hr afternoon nap though so I get some alone time.....

I'm so torn about strollers. I feel like I should get a double, but DD will be 3 yrs and 3 months when DS arrives so I wonder exactly how much use we will get out of it?? Then I think about it in practical terms and the thought of going to the mall with her walking the whole time if frightening....

I think the "secret" is that she goes to bed kinda late, she goes to bed with us, around 10-11. I know it's going to take some adjustment when she goes to kindergarten, but that's a long ways away-- I figure, we have nowhere to be in the morning, and it works for both of us. She's always been a night owl, though, she was like this since she was a few months old, so maybe it's just her? Sleeping has always been her strong suit-- but then, on the other hand, she sleeps so long at night that she gave up naps at probably 14 months old, so that's definitely a downside.

I'm doing a double, hands down. I can't let this little monkey run free when I'm pushing a stroller! I even nixed the idea of a Sit and Stand because she'll get out of it too easily. Don't get me wrong, she's not a ill-behaved child, but she has a lot of energy (more energy than a lot of kids I think) and I just don't and probably won't have that level of energy ever again! She's the kind of kid who can get out of any belt other than a 5-pt harness, she figured out how to just stand up in the shopping cart seat and get out of the belt! I wish she was the kind of kid who would just hold onto the edge of the stroller or cart... but that's just not her. She doesn't run off, she just runs ahead... if that makes sense.

The funny part is, you can't expect anything else out of her-- she is half me (the sleeper!) and half DH (the energy-filled escapee!)

I know I only really come on here to complain lol but man am I uncomfortable. Aline is still breech and is also sitting up really high. I can't breathe 90% of the time! I'm frustrated. I'm so ready for July to be here.. I'd even be ok with June! No sooner than that preferably. One of the ladies in my due date club just had her baby over the weekend, at 28 weeks. So scary.. luckily the little girl is doing well.

I'm with you. I'm so uncomfortable and it seems like we have forever to go... I can't breathe either... especially when sitting. And baby keeps switching between transverse and (I think) almost head down... He gets to about 45 degrees... where his head is in my lower left hip and butt in my right ribs, and then pops back to transverse. I've never seen anyone w/ such a lopsided belly.

So scary about the early birth. I keep complaining, but I really do not want him to be born yet. I just want someone (ahem, DH!) to speed up time and make it july already!

The Target we went to had Pamper's old Cruisers clearanced out, too. Maybe you could grab a few packages that aren't the dry-max kind.

I mostly use Huggies... only get Pampers when I have a coupon and I was coupon-less last night so I passed on them.

I grabbed the Pull-Ups (which I, obviously, won't need for awhile) because it seems like those hardly ever get included in the sales at the drug stores. So I thought with the coupon it was worth storing the box for awhile!!

That's the thing.. the dry max were cleverly disguised as the older kind of cruisers/swaddlers. Ugh. LOL I wish I could just open a pack and tape it to my arm for a day and see how my skin reacts.

I was never a huggies fan, every time I bought a pack I said I'd never buy one again. On the other hand, PullUps are the best best ever. The pampers training pants are the worst, they gave DD rashes, and she doesn't have sensitive skin at all. I actually used PullUps since DD was about 14 months old, when she started walking. It's been easier for diaper changes, since she would squirm like a madwoman laying down, but standing up diaper changes were a breeze. That and I had her in dresses all summer.

I remember that feeling all too well. Heck, I want a time machine now! I just want to see my little dude.

DD was a little early, but enough to land herself in the NICU. No fun :sad1:

Piecy: Glad you got lots of new furniture. It looks nice!

Mrs C. :That is scary about the diapers!

kpm: What about one of those sit and stand strollers? IDK if they work well or anything, I just see them suggested for your type of situation a lot

Just goes to show, I guess, that all kids are totally different.

Lucas can wear any and all diapers. I've had people give me the cheapos and we've never had any issues with those either. I have tons and tons and tons of Huggies stuff! Hopefully Owen is the same way !! :scared1:

LOL! Sorry, I meant Back and Forth to the hotel! I think the rides had big red triangles by them on the park maps, if I remember correctly.

Thanks, the red triangle warning is helpful! I just got the Unofficial Guide to DL last night, so hopefully that will have some tips as well.

just a quick note to say hi from the hospital.
DH surprised me today and bought me a laptop, so that was nice, I have something to do while I'm bored here.

I hope all is going well for you and you are holding LO in your arms right now! :goodvibes How thoughtful of your DH to get you a laptop!

I ended up with this:

Sounds like you had a great shopping day! :thumbsup2 We used to have the tall dresser for DH. It held up pretty well, but didn't end up surviving one of our moves. :sad2:

Sorry you're so uncomfortable. Better to be uncomfortable than deliver a baby at 28 weeks right? That is so scary, hope the baby is doing well!

I'm a little late today but...

MK: The Mountains
Tea Cups
The Barnstormer
Tomorrowland Speedway
The signs say asking your doctor is a good idea. Mine had been to WDW before and told me to mainly use my judgement but anything with G-Force like pressure is not a good idea...(spinning and dropping for sure)

Thanks for the tips. I think I will miss ToT most :sad1: But that's ok - I can always go next time, and who knows maybe DS will be tall enough to join me by that trip!

I'm so torn about strollers. I feel like I should get a double, but DD will be 3 yrs and 3 months when DS arrives so I wonder exactly how much use we will get out of it?? Then I think about it in practical terms and the thought of going to the mall with her walking the whole time if frightening....

My DS turned 3 in February and he will almost never sit in a stroller anymore. He is just too stubborn and independent. We make him hold our hands or wear a monkey harness most times when we are out. We've been to the mall many times with him walking the whole time, just last night in fact! We ended up getting the Sit N Stand b/c he liked it and I thought it would be good if he needed a rest and he could be close.

Sorry you are feeling uncomfortable too - you're almost there!

I've always liked Huggies. I don't like the smell of pampers or luvs, and the pampers version of pull-ups were too big on my skinny DS to be useful. Love the Pull-Ups, they are so easy to use! But I can't wait until we are done with them - almost there, only using at bedtime right now! :thumbsup2

The darn pampers Easy Ups were the only thing that bugged DD, but they have the "cool feel" liner, I think that was the problem. Huggies just annoyed me, personally. I think they were just too elasticky (if that's a word) and hard to close for some reason.

Even going to bed a little later though, that is still a really good sleeper you have on your hands! Yay for you :)

Abby is active as well so I think we have to get the double stroller. I was talking to my sister about it today and she said "no offense, but I can't believe you'd consider NOT getting one. You will gone insane otherwise." Haha....she's right....

Haha yeah, I'd only be punishing myself if I didn't!

She gets the sleeping thing from me... I looooooove my sleep! (Haha, that is when I *can* get it now)

I was starting to wonder to myself if the ones from CVS would be part of these dry max ones but I'm thinking not (at least for me)... do you think you could have gotten a package of the cleverly disguised ones??

It seems like they just went through and redid the packages to make them smaller like a year ago and our CVS still had a lot of the old packages that had more diapers in them. I've been slowly buying their stock of those packs whenever they had those deals. I didn't care what size they were, if they had more diapers in them thats the size I got. I can't remember, now, if I ended up with any of the newer, smaller packages to be concerned about them being the dry max ones. :scared1:
Lucas has such bad skin already I really don't want a diaper that could burn him. I guess I'll stick to the Huggies I have for Lucas and hang on to the Pampers for Owen.

Hope everyone is doing good! I might not be around as much (obsessively :rolleyes1) as usual because I just figured out we're leaving for beach in two weeks and I still have school to do! Time to get this house cleaned and pull out the summer clothes. Time flies when you're pregnant! :yay:

Oh, and if anyone is *FACEBOOK* friends with ZPT her husband posted baby info. I'm sure she'll be by soon enough to let us know, though. :)

That was my thought too-- did I get one or more of the sneaky "dry max" packs? I haven't touched them other than to put them away because they're all NB and 1's.

That's so awesome about leaving for the beach... so jealous! :goodvibes I just have to keep reminding myself "Disney in December, Disney in December" and keep my eye on the prize. Haha I wish time was flying!

I don't have facebook... boo. I want to see updates, but I think I'm going to wait until she posts here. (I'm not a fan of facebook, nosy family can mind their own beeswax! Just a personal pet peeve.)

The secret to getting DD to sleep late was a completely dark room. Buy black-out shades and they don't know it's daylight. :thumbsup2

Hey girlies - I've been feeling a little bit anxious so I bumped my Friday appt up to this afternoon. Getting ready to leave now. Although I feel like everything is okay I am still just paranoid. (I thought everything was okay last year and then found out the baby died a month earlier) I think I will be sent on to the OB after this appt and the frequent visits will stop - boohooo!! Oh well.....I have got to figure out someway to relax. I'm thinking about renting a doppler....but know right now it's too early to find the HB with one. Of course I'm worried about the anxiety of having problems finding the HB once it's where i can too so not sure if I'll go that route or not. Well...out the door I go!

Awww, this is EXACTLY how I felt with this pregnancy after having a missed m/c in Sept. I started to feel better by 15 weeks. Now I can feel the baby move so that makes thing better as well, except when he has a "quiet" day and then I panic a little. I wish you peace and I hope you can relax a little though I know that is much easier said than done

Thanks so much! I know it isn't ever easy to go through a miscarriage, but I honestly think this pregnancy would be easier if I'd had problems that I knew about (cramping, bleeding, etc) when I had my miscarriage. As it was I thought everything was fantastic only to be totally destroyed. So now even when things are going great I worry :scared1:

Everything is great. Baby is measuring right on target, a solid heartrate of 178bpm and was wriggling around today when they did the ultrasound....that was very cool .

Hi all! I'm a slacker when it comes to posting.... Welcome to all the new mommies-to-be!

I have a question for you all.... Is anyone here looking at or made the decision to do cord blood banking? If so, what company did you decide to go with? I have been on the phone and on-line for a good part of the day looking into this, and I think I’m more confused now then when I started.

I have been thinking about the cord blood banking as well; it is confusing. I think I may ask the Dr when we go back next time. I am interested but want to know more before we make a decision.

I feel like my little guy is kicking or punching me on or near my cervix. It is a wierd sort of painful feeling. Does this happen to anyone else or is it something I should be concerned by?

Alright girls, I did a search on the boards to find previous discussions of a topic, and it turns out most of the discussion was on one of the "moms to be" threads... That and the baby ear piercing thread... :confused3

Tell me what you guys think about circumcision.
