VDH Questions for Purchasing

I think id do 75 75 and 50. Id like to do 50 50 50 50 but im not sure if that makes sense.

Let me ask my accountant.

@VGCgroupie does it make sense for me to rent out 50 points at $20 pp accomplish my goal of 200 points. Shall I split it in three or four if so?
I still think 150 is the way to go. I wouldn’t buy extra to rent when you can do MB.

You can keep the extra points and always have a surplus. Will be nice to operate banking rather than borrowing.

I’d ask yourself if you 100% will take all those trips in 1 year.

Stop overthinking it. If thinking of selling off points to MB (sucker bet by the way…like buying a new car but have a trade in..those deals are put out for the House’s benefit). Looks all good at first but later realize the trip, using those points, had more value.

Tell your guild you changed your mind to a 75/75 VDH (Lock in your 150 DVC-Y). Paying such a high premium anyway for all this. Back fill with resale if really want more.

I have no regrets selling my points back. But some do.

I'm sure it is tempting to go higher on the number of points. But, you probably really have to think about how many of those VDH points are you actually going to use at VDH every year. Yes, 150 is the starting point to get direct benefits, but will you actually use more than that, on average, each year? If you don't think so, probably better to stick with 150.

And, agree with @VGCgroupie on MB. I think it's a no brainer unless you had a cash stay you already had booked and you could substitute those points in for that - then, you are potentially saving yourself lots of money. If you weren't really planning a trip with these points, monetizing the current year points at $20/point without any taxes due is just so quick and easy. And, you've still got 47 years worth of points to look forward to. It is a bit of delayed gratification, but I think the cash is worth it personally.

So you think I should do magical beginnings? Because if I do there will be less celebrating
If you will use the points keep them. You can always rent WDW points to offset if needed. Your only points that work at VDH are VDH points, so not a bad idea to start with some extra. I would do what makes you most happy.

150 without magical beginnings sounds like a good compromise. Id be paying $6 more pp than what i was going to be at Poly
