Moms to be Part 4

Looks like it will be a nice St. Paddy's weekend in Chicago! The holiday is celebrated the weekend before here. I'm going to try and convince Mike that we need to have a boild dinner on Sunday to celebrate. In NY my parents will be marching in teh parade on Thursday. It is only the 3rd time since I was 4 that I will not be with them. :upsidedow My mom told me I get a pass for this year but next year, please God, we will ALL be there!:cloud9:

Bring on the weekend ladies!

Anyone heard from Talulabelle?

Enjoy it! We have a really great St Paddy's day celebration in Savannah, GA. I've been a few times during the celebration, but not in awhile. Savannah is pretty close, about 4 hrs or so, then Tybee Island, where we got married on the beach, is about 20 minutes from there.

We probably won't be doing any celebrating, as I can't have any green beer! Actually, I don't drink beer anyway...lol. Maragritas, on the other hand, are sorely missed with all our great weather here in Atlanta. I told my hubs he may have to make me a virgin one soon so I can pretend!

I'm here! I'm just rolling around my house like the fat people in the movie WALL-E . I don't feel like going anywhere or doing anything. I am still nesting like crazy and cleaning out closets, which takes me forever because it is so uncomfortable to get on the floor to sort through the stuff down low. But I just keep picking away at it. Went for my weekly visit the other day and I'm still 1 cm dilated, but was now 25% effaced. Moving along. I feel like I'm going to burst. Like someone pumped me up with a bike pump. I am swelling more than I ever have with any pregnancy and I can't wait for it to go away after baby comes.

Still didn't get everything done I wanted to before baby's arrival, but I have made peace with it. I got everything done that HAD to be done - and I'm good with it. Everything else can wait until he's here. My bag is packed and ready to go. I'm just waiting and cleaning, and cleaning and nesting, and nesting and waiting for my little baby.

I hope it happens for you soon! :)

Hi everyone. I'm a nervous nelly today. . . I started lightly spotting last night. (TMI alert) Brown but still there. I remember the Dr. said that for some women it happens throughout but I was just starting to get comfortable that I was going to be fine and this has scared the poo outta me! I'm trying to calm myself down too because nervousness can't be good either right? I mean on Sunday we were all laughing because my belly looked a little bigger and that was in the morning. ;)

Then this morning I was adjusting my seat and my seatbelt pushed a little to much on my belly. . . Sheesh, I'm a basket case right now. Friday can't be here fast enough.:upsidedow

Sorry, at some point I'll calm myself and won't be such a worry wort. I'm the type that if I get sick I fight it as much as possible and try not to make it a big deal. I really don't like this. . .

Esbrick... Sort of a lurked on here, expecting my first in August. I've been following everyones stories, but I had to chime in for your latest post.

I was right about as far along as you when I had the brown spotting. I FREAKED out. Fortunately, it's totally normal. My Dr. told me it was likely implantation bleeding, or some other bleeding from placental growth, or some other leftover blood from my uterus. BROWN is GOOD! It means it is old, old, old.

But still, hearing that heartbeat as a reassurance was a blessing! But don't worry yourself too much before you see your Dr.

Keep us updated! (I know you and baby are A-okay! ;))

I would think Megs is right - brown is good.

I know that brown is usually ok and in my mind I'm thinking that. . . honestly. Mike just sent me a bunch of pictures of Castaway Cay and the Ship all to calm me down and go to my happy place.

I need to calm down, I know I do. Thanks for your reassurance ladies. Hope everyone else is doing well!
:goodvibes

OK so keeping positive here!

If you have started to get a belly or have a belly what are you wearing for pants? I'm having the feeling that i will need to invest in something a bit more comfortable after this weekend. I just gave my skinny jeans to Meg over the weekend. Not sure what I was more surprised at. . . the fact I couldn't fit in them or the fact that she could:cutie:

Another lurker here who had three uneventful pregnancies (for the most part) and had brown spotting at around the same time as you with ALL of them!
I know how hard it is not to worry, but rest assured that this is totally normal!!

I always used hair bands or sewed elastic into a circle in the beginning to make my pants fit a bit looser. You loop it through the button hole and hook it around the button. Gives you just enough room to keep in regular pants for a bit longer. I also love those belly band things! They sell them at Target! I even wear them when I'm not pregnant sometimes if I want a layered shirt look with out wearing two shirts.

I guess since I came out of the woodwork, I'll claim a spot here and introduce myself...

I'm Meaghan, expecting our first on August 16th! We are VERY excited and can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl on March 28th!!! :) EVERYONE except two people think it's a girl! I just hope baby is healthy!

This pregnancy has been terrible, and I have said many a time, "Never again!" I am sure after delivery, I will say it again! ;) My doctor diagnosed me with Hypermesis on my second visit at two months... I've been on Zofran since. No fun. I hope NONE of you get it!!!

Anyways, it will be fun to look forward to all of these babies with everyone!!! :)

OMGoodness Meaghan! That is really hard and I feel for you! Actually I remember you from the Brides thread on DIS. We were posting at the same time:goodvibes

On my non manic, panic attack days, (I really was doing well, for a while, til today!) I go between him & her. Last night I was very attached to "him". On most days I do lean towards "him" actually:). I'm thinking that we will more than likely find out, although, DH doen't want to, I really do;)

I bought a belly band at Target and so far that is doing well for me. You just wear it over your unbuttoned jeans or pants. My parents did buy me some maternity clothes at a consignment sale and I bought some maternity cargos at Old Navy but I haven't worn any of them yet.

As far as the spotting, I have heard the same as PP, brown is good. But, if you are still freaking out, just call your doctor/nurse. Thats what they are there for.

Welcome and congrats!! So sorry you have been sick! I was lucky and haven't been sick at all.

Oh, that's too funny! Ah, wedding planning... Now THIS! :)

I was leaning towards girl, but lately I am convinced it is a boy. We are so finding out!!! I hope baby isn't hiding!

When I go for my NT scan in 2 weeks 1 day, I'll be 13 weeks and I heard they will sometimes tell you an educated guess of what they think the sex is...so I am gonna ask! B/c of the 164bpm at my 10 wk u/s, people are saying girl. I probably slightly prefer a girl, my DH slightly prefers a boy (he says with a boy he only has to worry about 1 "thang" with a girl he has to worry about every "thang" lol), but we will take either!

I've had high heartrates like that also! My first was in the 160's, and my last was 154 I think. Most also tell me with high rates like that, it's a girl.

It's funny, because my DH says, "What is SHE doing in there?" or "Is SHE kicking?" If it is a boy, it will be funny to tell him that for five months, his dad called him a HER!

I've only had one sonogram since the baby was big enough to tell it's sex and she said it's a boy. I am still leery though because I am carrying like I carried my daughter and the woman doing the sonogram was a little loopy. We went with what she said and I have a blue nursery with a dresser full of blue clothes and only have picked a boys name. I have this growing feeling that the baby will come on April fools day and be a girl. I've mapped out a plan of action to switch out clothes and have the nursery repainted ASAP if that happens. :goodvibes

I have never heard of that? Faster heartbeats = Girl? Hmmm interesting! So can't wait until Friday to hear our baby's heart beat. I feel like I have gassy pains today. My tummy looks like a balloon. Mike is calling me Bumps as a nick name now:goodvibes

It's an old wives tale... ;) I was real bloated at first... I like your nickname :)

Oh goodness! I hope you get your boy, for the sake of sanity!!! I'd hate that chaos with a new baby!
