Thanks everyone for the pixie dust! We did get through a lot this weekend and got the crib together. That made it all seem very real that this is happening.Just need to get the changing table together tonight and clear out some more junk from the closet and it will be done. But I still have alot to reorganize in my other kids rooms. (we moved all the kids from room to room to make a place for baby) Also my friends threw me a huge surprise shower on Sat! I thought I was going over to pick up some second hand baby things from her and when I walk in - all of my friends are there! I got a new travel system stroller which is awesome because my old one is so gross at this point and a bassinet which I also needed. Also a ton of adorable tiny clothes. I was so happy and grateful. I had so much fun with my friends I forgot about how crappy I was feeling. Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!

Sounds like you got quite a bit done! And aww, how awesome of your friends! Glad your weekend went well!

Hehe ArielSRL digging the cravings! I'm not sure if it was a preggo craving or just a craving in general but I woulda given anything for chocolate ice cream with walnuts on Friday! Finally got it on Saturday which was well worth it and DH bought icecream for me for the freezer as well:goodvibes We'll be sending pixie dust to you for Wednesday!pixiedust: Your outlook is spot on and I totally get it!:upsidedow;)

Tallulabelle ~ That is so wonderful about the shower! How lovely for you to have such a nice surprise and couldn't have come at a better time right?:goodvibes

I had a nice weekend as well! We went to Meg's school fundraiser on Friday night. Wore heals, big mistake! I'm 5 81/2 I don't need to wear heals anywhere for long periods!:thumbsup2 Two women that I worked on the fundraising committee with but haven't seen in a while were standing at the bar with me. One of them looked at my drink and her eyes popped outta her head and she's OMG OMG I can't believe it! I kinda laughed and said shhh I'm ok then the other one caught on and it was a hug fest! :goodvibes It was really nice for me even though I am trying to be cautious, because most of my friends live in NY and don't know yet and my closest friend who lives in NJ, well she knows, but we haven't had the jumping up and down yet cause we talk via IM most of the time or phone. (BING PITY PARTY ALERT!!!) I have to say I'm missing my friends in NY. Next week I am turning 40 and going for my first OB appointment. I just wish they were around;) (BING PITY PARTY OVER) I am now going to concentrate on the fact that we are going away for spring break the last week of March and we will have a GREAT time and we are planning on havign a Birthday dinner at Narcossees with my parents who are coming with us! That's all good!

Scottishduffy ~ I have a nurse question if you don't mind. So last night we are lying in bed and I had put my hand on my stomach and I could swear I felt something like a heart beat! So I told Mike to feel and he could feel it too. Then I told him ok, more thank likely it's my heartbeat so let's find my pulse and see if they match. Well sure 'nuff we could not find my pulse or heart beat and Mike proclaimed that I was a vampire!:scared1::rotfl: It was comedy at it's best:laughing: So here's my question, which I am sure you have figured out, Was it my own heart beat or the bean's?:lovestruc
PS how did your DH's microchip results come out?

Have a great day everyone!

Oooo and I took my last progesterone shot last night and my last dose of estradril! I'm scard outta my poopy but so happy their done!

If it was the center of your tummy it was most likely your heart beat, felt from your Aorta. I used to get that too, even non-pregnant, when I lay flat. Sometimes, I could even see my stomach move with the pulse a bit. If it is rhythmic, and the center line of your stomach it is probably your pulse.

I would think it would be hard to feel the beans pulse. Your beans pulse has got to be *at least* 120 beats per minute so count it out! Besides, bean is very well protected by your uterus and his/her own body. I have tried for the life of me to use a specialized cardiac stethoscope I have to find my babies heart beat and haven't had luck. It even has sound amplification on it and I can't find her yet! Maybe I am uncoordinated... or maybe she is just messing with me. She is never very cooperative with people trying to feel my belly, she goes stone cold still whenever there is a hand on my tummy. We call this trick the "Magic Hand of Daddy" since every time he tries to feel her she stops. I have also told DH I am willing to pay him good money if that trick is still applicable after she is born. Just put his hand on her and it's like an automatic 'quiet' button.

We get DH's results in another week or so when we have the follow-up appointment. Your end of March trip to Disney sounds like a lot of fun! Have a great time!

 Thanks so much! That's pretty much what I thought but we had a great laugh over it and me being a vampire!:scared1:

That's crazy about your "Magic Hand of Daddy" theory! Talk about a great tool to have. . . I was a cryer as a baby so i'm hoping that history won't repeat and that the baby will have DH's sleeping genes and not mine:laughing: I am trying to put a list of questions together for my appointment. I know it's 2 weeks away but I keep thinking up things! Of course I'm a bit worried that he is going to tell me I can't go on my vacation at the end of the month. Like ArielSRL said we have no control how things are going to turn out but that still is on my mind. :upsidedow

E - that is awesome on a Disney trip the last week of March! We have one planned and booked for the first week of June (I'm a teacher) but it depends upon my DHs work situation if we will be able to go. My DH is unemployed. He was laid off last summer and has been going to a trade school and now interning (for radio production). We really need him to get a job to be able to afford the trip (and several other baby items) yet, if he gets a job, he may not be able to take the time off for the trip. If we get to go we are staying at WL (for the first time ever!) for 5 nights, starting June 2. We have a ressie for Narcossee's as well.

We are also going to Louisiana for Spring Break (first week of April) b/c my Dh is originally from there and he needs to go see his family. His immediate family lives here in GA, but his extended family is still in LA. His grandmother is sick, so he definitely needs to get a visit in. Its been around 5 years since he has been.

We also want (the operative word being want) to take a long weekend on Amelia Island, FL. Thats where we honeymooned last June and we just loved it. We will try for a 3 or 4 day weekend in May.

As far as the heartbeat, if everything goes well Wednesday, I plan to buy an at-home doppler. The one most people on BabyCenter purchase is the Sonoline B. You can get it on eBay or Amazon for around $60.

Hey Ladies! Sorry I have been MIA - things around here have been crazy. I am at 12 weeks now and feeling pretty good most of the time. The morning sickness rarely rears it's ugly head. I have been nervous without symptoms so my DH has rented a high end doppler. It comes tomorrow. He is like a kid in the candy store waiting for it. :rotfl: I don't have an OB appointment until next wed.

The doppler my Dh rented came yesterday and of course he had to try it when he came home. We were able to hear the heart beat! It was nice to hear!

We had a great appointment yesterday! We had the ultrasound first and the baby is beautiful! I need to post the photos to my shutterfly account so I can post them here. The baby danced for us! We saw arms, legs, head, body, umbilical cord...it was so amazing! Heart rate is 164bpm! I am in awe of what a true miracle it all really is! Oh and they tried the abdominal u/s first and it worked great so no need for a trans-vag one.

Then we had the nurse history, which was standard and straighforward. We had 4.5 hours between that and the OB appt so we went to the mall for lunch and shopping.

The OB appt was interesting. I didn't get examined b/c I had just had my yearly in December. So I never, not once, took my pants off yesterday! LOL. We discussed the testing available. I wasn't sure if I would get it but we decided to, so we'll go back in 3 weeks to get another u/s and some bloodwork to determine our risk factor and then we'll go from there on further testing. I also asked her stance on inductions and was pleased with the answer. She likes to let first timers go on their own, up until about 40 weeks. She will also do weekly appts starting at week 34. Some of this is b/c I am a "mature" momma at 37! :) Oh and we asked about pediatricians but my doc is new to the area so she didn't have much advice for us. I'll just ask some friends.

All in all it was a great appt and I am looking forward to seeing our little monkey in 3 weeks!

Renee ~ I am so excited for you! Congratulations! Can't wait to see your new pictures:-)

So I'm pretty sure I have told you all that I am considered a "high risk" pregnancy. This is based on 1. How I got pregnant; 2. I'm a diabetic; 3. My age.;) Knowing these things I am nervous about our upcoming trip. We planned this trip last year, actually for the last 2 years, not knowing what this year was going to bear out. We felt it was unfair to my DSD and to us put off making plans for something we didn't know when or if was going to happen.;)

So now it's happened! :goodvibes So excited! So happy! So nervous about everything keeping going and I know that each week is a milestone for us. :thumbsup2 So here is my dilemma. I'm nervous about traveling. I have read so many different opinions on travel, mostly all saying that the 2nd trimester is the best time to travel (which is what I will be entering please God when we are leaving!) So that is fine. If you are driving long distances, which we will be, take breaks every 2 hours and keep hydrated. That is fine, we are leaving earlier than planned to accomidate my extra stops; I have moved dinner reservations to accomidate a possible later arrival on Friday night. Mike has also looked into the possibility of purchasing plane tickets if the dr says it would be to strainign on me to drive. The tickets are a million dollars but if it would be less stressful on me we will figure it out.

I called my RE and left a message to get his thoughts on the trip. Of course I'm afraid he is going to tell me that I shouldn't travel. :sad2: Ugggg I'm gonna have to wait it out I know but sheesh. . .

E - I'm sure it will be fine. I was able to travel a couple of weeks ago without any issues. I will cross my fingers for you! I haven't even told my OB about our trip to the carribean for spring break.

E- Travel should be fine unless you have a reason not to. I travelled very early on, around the 6 week mark.I was not able to take a trip at 12 weeks because I had a subchorionic hematoma, so that kept me grounded. However, once that cleared up I am free to travel again.

Snow- It must be so fun to have a doppler! I had to restrain myself, though I did really want one.

Ariel- Congrats on the US. Having fun seeing your little jumping bean again in a couple weeks.

Right now things are calm, I am just getting internally beat up by my little girl. I swear, she must still be with her head up because I only get smacked down low. I got the call from the hospital today that my credentialing is 100% done! :yay: I can start work Monday and actually get paid for it. I am a little nervous about work since it involves lots of walking for me. The doc said I am fine to work, but after a while on my feet my tailbone/hips starts to hurt. So I am gonna have to be creative in finding rest breaks and keeping well hydrated.

DH and I are planning some fun nights out with friends for my last weekend of freedom. Tomorrow we are going to Mellow Mushroom for pizza and trivia. Then on Sunday, I told DH I wanted sushi. Yes... I know.... bad preggo lady. I have had sushi in moderation throughout and will enjoy it on Sunday as my last meal before exiting this lovely non-working fantasy world I have going. I am looking forward to work, but at the same time anxious about it. I keep flip-flopping on my emotions.

Hope everyone else continues to do well!

E - I am sure it will be fine. Hopefully your doctor agrees with me...lol. Dh and I have 3 trips planned between now and mid-June. They are all driving trips (one to Louisiana for 10 hrs, one to Amelia Island for 6 hrs, I believe, and then to Disney for 7.5 hrs). i told the nurse about them all on Wednesday and she didn't say anything. I'll be in my 2nd trimester for all of them, just starting for the LA trip. After that, we won't travel again during the pregnancy, I'm sure.

Scottishduffy - good luck with the job and have fun this weekend!

BTW, not sure if any of you are on the west coast but I want to send positive thoughts to those who are there or are in Hawaii. Hope things don;t get too crazy with the tsunami. And of course, thoughts go out to those in Japan, affected by the earthquake!

ScottishDuffy~ Sounds like a lovely weekend planned! That is great news about your credentials coming through as well! Whooo Hoooo! :cool1:

Thanks so much for your positive thoughts! I'll take them all! I spoke with my RE this am and he told me that I should be ok to travel as long as the bean is ok to travel. He was a little surprised that he released me a month ago and I still hadn't been to the OB yet. I told him that it took longer to pick someone than expected. AKA very well meaning people who tell you, oh when you are ready let me know, I'll make a call and get you in sooner and it never happens:rolleyes: Plus the Dr I am seeing is at a medical conference. He understood but if I were him I'd be shaking my head and wagging my finger too. Next time I'm just gonna go with instincts!:)

Looks like it will be a nice St. Paddy's weekend in Chicago! The holiday is celebrated the weekend before here. I'm going to try and convince Mike that we need to have a boild dinner on Sunday to celebrate. In NY my parents will be marching in teh parade on Thursday. It is only the 3rd time since I was 4 that I will not be with them. :upsidedow My mom told me I get a pass for this year but next year, please God, we will ALL be there!:cloud9:

Bring on the weekend ladies!

Anyone heard from Talulabelle?

E- Enjoy St. Pats in Chicago! I love to see the River green! It's cool to see from the Sears Tower (I know it has a new name, but it will always be the Sears to me:)). Sorry about missing your tradition next week, but I'm glad your parents understand! They must be so excited for you!

Anyone heard from Talulabelle?

I'm here! I'm just rolling around my house like the fat people in the movie WALL-E . I don't feel like going anywhere or doing anything. I am still nesting like crazy and cleaning out closets, which takes me forever because it is so uncomfortable to get on the floor to sort through the stuff down low. But I just keep picking away at it. Went for my weekly visit the other day and I'm still 1 cm dilated, but was now 25% effaced. Moving along. I feel like I'm going to burst. Like someone pumped me up with a bike pump. I am swelling more than I ever have with any pregnancy and I can't wait for it to go away after baby comes.

Still didn't get everything done I wanted to before baby's arrival, but I have made peace with it. I got everything done that HAD to be done - and I'm good with it. Everything else can wait until he's here. My bag is packed and ready to go. I'm just waiting and cleaning, and cleaning and nesting, and nesting and waiting for my little baby.
