Happy Birthday!!!!!

:yay:Katie will be here next Thu, if not before!!!!!:woohoo: I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 next Thu morning for the induction. I was at 2 cm and he said I was very thinned out, so she could come before then. I called work and told them my last day is next Wed. It is so nice to have some plans made! My kids are going to spend the night with some friends (she was their kindergarten teacher and he is the baseball coach) and they will get them to school, then my parents are picking them up and bringing them over after school. That killed 2 birds-keeps my folks occupied and out of the hospital all day!:upsidedow

 You are in the 7 day countdown  I can't believe you are going to work up until the day before. You are Wonder Woman!!!

She gives me hope that I can do it, too! If I don't work up to when I deliver, I don't get my maternity leave... :scared:

Not wonder woman-just a very unwealthy woman! This way, the money I won the other night will cover my missed days. And I have to get my kids up and to school every day anyway. I need to give my students one more test to pull up some of their grades, and Wed will be a good day for that. I plan to teach Mon and Tue, then sit on my rear and grade Wed, then go home for 10 wks!!!!!!!! Then the sub can give them the practice tests for the exam, and let them work together to answer it. That way, I don't have to leave detailed lesson plans (here the subs are NOT teachers-no qualifications at all-so the idea of one of them teaching high school math is :scared1::lmao:).

Tonight was going to be my last night to go to my son's baseball games. They don't play next week (state tests), and I can't take a newborn with me so the rest of the season is shot. And it is pouring down rain! I'm tired, but disappointed for him. He loves having his mama at his games:sad1:

Happy Birthday Ann!!!

Sarah-what a sweet way to end your last storytime!!

December-YAY!!!! Coming soon! And the countdown has begun!

I don't know whats up with my two (Madeline and the baby). They have both had the hiccups today!! The baby has been getting them more lately, or else I have just started feeling them, which I doubt since I have been feeling him for quite a while now. Madeline has had them about three or four times today-I am hoping its not because her stomach is upset. I asked her if it was and at first she said no but tonight she said that her tummy hurt but I can't tell if it was the power of my suggestion or if it really is bothering her. :confused3

I am going to have my hair done and then out to dinner tonight with my parents, DH & DS............shhhhhhhhhhh, this advanced maternal age mom turns 40 today!:scared1:

Ann

Happy Birthday! (I'll keep your secret if you keep mine. I turned 37 last Saturday.)

I'm sitting here right now with heartburn, mildly nauseous thanks to all of Little Miss Baby's flipping around and around, AND I've been having hot flashes for the last hour or so too. I'm not whining, I actually think it's all pretty funny-I just thought I'd share it with the one audience I know might laugh with me. Poor DH doesn't understand why I'm still laughing.

I guess at 28 weeks, it really is time to start thinking of names, isn't it? I promise her name won't be Little Miss Baby when she gets here. But any suggestions of girls' names would be welcome.:)

I had to do the same thing or risk going without pay for a whole week. I went into work on Thursday feeling fine. Got all my morning work done and went to my 12pm dr appointment with DH. Well, they ended up sending me to the hospital for high BP, just like what's going on now (but way way later, 7 days before due date). I walked back into work and everyone just thought I was coming back from lunch. I had to tell my boss, "here's my afternoon work. I don't know when I'm coming back". She had this look like, holy crap, you're leaving now? I think they were relying on that extra week of me being there. That was my last day and DS was born the next day. I quit in January just before I was supposed to go back.

I would have loved to have a few days off before hand, but there was no way I could. That Thursday was the most crazy day ever. I had to get home and get my bag and shave quick because I figured I had another week before I had to really make things pretty. Ha! Surprise! And to top it off, the dog got out and ran all over the street while DH was running around the house. I guess they were both nervous. :rotfl:

I did go to the mall today to return a gift and ended up finding both kids matching coming home outfits. I've been looking everywhere for something cute and really liked these.

I know it will be hot when we come home (fingers crossed I make it to June) so I wanted something fun and easy. DS has blue eyes and brown hair so this looks super cute on him. It's funny to see one giant 24m and a tiny tiny nb next to it.

Happy Birthday! (I'll keep your secret if you keep mine. I turned 37 last Saturday.)

I'll be 37 in December. I've been with dh 21 years-which I believe is the amount of time Piecey has been on earth! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

At the banquet the other night, one of my classmates was there with her graduating senior, while I was waddling around about to burst. Nothing like pregnancy to keep you "young!"

Hi all,

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

I am so excited, I did not think DH was going to paint my DS's new room but he has mentioned it a couple of times!!!! :cool1: I am so excited now I have to decide on paint.

I have to go back and catch up with you all from yesterday. Have a nice day, it is suppose to be in the 70s today!!!

Ann

Yikes! I guess that's probably the only perk of working for a big retail chain. I get my paid maternity leave no matter what. Plus I have two weeks vacation to use so I am taking the last two weeks in July because I know it's going to be miserable hot here and I won't want to do anything. I had thought about saving my vacation for later but I really desperately want to find a new job while I am on leave so that's my motivation. I just have zero consistency in my schedule where I am at now and I know my store manager would never let me have a set schedule. Between having a new baby, going back to school in the spring, and needing to work full time still...that's just not going to work. I need a job that doesn't give me such erratic work hours. Hopefully I'll be able to find something!

Ann, it's only in the 70's there? That sounds like heaven! It's already been getting in the high 90's where I'm at and it's miserable :headache:

Ugh! I know what you mean. I am at 33 weeks today. Natalie flipped, kicked and ran in place from 10-12 pm last night. She was a crazy girl. I kept patting my belly telling her to settle down. It does kind of make you nauseous. I was glad my husband was out of town on business so I could whine by myself. It freaks him out a little when he thinks something in wrong.

Happy Birthday!!!!!

That is so sweet!

WOOOHOOO!!!
Congrats and good luck on the delivery... Hopefully yours will be short and sweet...

Hello!

Little update on my friend. I finally talked to her yesterday. She called me before I had a chance to call her. :thumbsup2 We talked for like an hour--way longer than any previous phone conversation! and then DH and I ended up going over their house to watch the Cavs game.

She's doing pretty much exactly like I expected her to. She's happy to know she can get preggers and is looking forward to trying again. She's had 5 days to spend with her family and getting through the actual physical stuff and now she's reaching out to me more than ever before. She's so awesome.

So tonight her and I are going out to dinner and then something just the 2 of us while our hubbies entertain each other :thumbsup2 after all he needs to grieve with his friends too. But I have no idea what to do after dinner...I don't want it to be anything to strenuous and something where we can talk. We talked about walking around the mall...but I'd like to do something more special than that--any ideas??

It was quiet today!

It is 85 here right now. We had a powderpuff football game this afternoon, but I stayed in the room and worked. I couldn't walk all the way to the football field and sit out in the sun. I got alot done in 2 hrs without kids. I have my tests for next Wed made out, lesson plans for Mon and Tue (I REALLY hope I can work through Wed). And everything up to this point graded. Now I'm ready for a nice weekend! We are going out to eat tomorrow night, and to see the new Star Trek movie-our last weekend as a family of four!

I work in "Retail Financial Services"... I'm a teller in a bank. ;)
Technically, according to the HR policy I just can't go on "leave" before I go on "maternity leave"... I think that means I can't get written out of work weeks before the baby is born and then still take maternity leave and get it all paid (my maternity is 12 wks 100% pay, paid in a lump sum, so it's pretty substantial). I think. I don't want to jinx myself so I've just told myself I have to work up until D-Day. I get 6 days of paid sick leave, and I think I could take them if I needed.. but I'm just not going to jinx it!
This is another reason I'm leaning towards asking my Dr. to induce, even if she doesn't think it's necessary after this next ultrasound. Being a teller, especially, I'll be more comfortable getting out of work on my own terms- instead of management having to come in and dig through my drawers and lockers (which I have sole access to)... the hole thing just makes me want to empty it out and clean it up and fix the things that aren't exactly up to "policy" that I've got in there... :rolleyes1

I totally took a week of my vacation in April... I couldn't help it, I wanted some "me" time! :rotfl: You're a stronger woman than I am to hang on to it!

Check out banking, though. It's not bad and the hours are pretty consistant (since most banks have good hours!) and the benefits are amazing, I'll admit. My bank even paid my tuition for my Associates in Business Admin! :thumbsup2 Then I had to go and change my major to Elementary Ed....

It's not exactly "special" but I totally want to see "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" or whatever and stare at Matthew tonight. :lovestruc

Well it's friday- so I guess you can assume I was at Target getting some deals (Today i spent $5.96 taxes and all- saved $31.99-- and even got size 3 diapers- lol. I did excellent I think)

I read in several books that induction raises the chance for ending up needing a c-section, I'm not sure how much higher the rates are or if you are concerned about that, but I just wanted to speak up just in case, especially if your doctor doesn't want to do it.

I personally know three people induced in the last year and 2 needed c-sections and one an episiotomy (sp?).

I'm about 95% sure I'll have to have one without even asking her. I'm definitely going to see what she says after this next ultrasound, though, since the entire reason for this US is for her to make her decisions on how to progress.
She told me after my 2nd ultrasound if he continued in the 90th percentile for weight/size she would induce at 39 weeks to keep from needing a c-section. My 3rd ultrasound showed him in the 97th percentile for size/weight, so now I get to have a 4th so she can make a decision.
Her policy seems to hover at anywhere over 9lbs = c-section.
I will probably ask her to wait until closer to full-term to induce if she does decide to, but she already told me she won't let me go much past my due date so who knows. I just think this next appt. will sum it all up nicely for me. .. ultrasound Tuesday, meet with her Thursday. I'm sure I'll have a better idea by then.
She did also say if my cervix doesn't soften up or dialate any on it's own she'll push a planned indcution back, just to make it easier on me.
I'd much rather have an episiotomy (though she said there hasnt been one done in this hospital in months) than a c-section, though!

My mom was induced for me and said I was a much easier baby to have than my brother. I think everyone is just too different to really lump things together. :confused3
