Moms to Be Part 3

I'd much rather have an episiotomy (though she said there hasnt been one done in this hospital in months) than a c-section, though!

My mom was induced for me and said I was a much easier baby to have than my brother. I think everyone is just too different to really lump things together. :confused3

I agree on both!! Good luck!! I don't mean to meddle, I just wanted to let you know, in case, but seems like you are very well informed.

I didn't look at it as meddling at all. Thanks for the advice!

Dr. has made is clear than an induction is possible since that 2nd ultrasound. She said many people are uncomfortable with them so when she thinks one may be necessary that she likes to mention it early so they can research/throw the idea around in their minds.

I won't push her one way or the other but if she is leaning that way or leaving it up to me, I'll go for it! :rotfl:

...someone on here said baby moving was making them feel a little ...
And now I've got that, too. He's not EVER moved this much!! :sad2:

Where is everyone today?

I went out to lunch with a friend. Then I hit Sam's, the grocery store, post office and dry cleaners. Then home to put everything away. We are having Mother's Day here, so I had to change the sheets in the guest bedroom and do some light cleaning. Now I'm pooped!! Not to mention, it was 100 degrees here today. YUCK!!!!! Well, at least I am almost ready for this weekend. My parents are coming in on Saturday. Whew, I need a nap.

I read in several books that induction raises the chance for ending up needing a c-section, I'm not sure how much higher the rates are or if you are concerned about that, but I just wanted to speak up just in case, especially if your doctor doesn't want to do it.

I personally know three people induced in the last year and 2 needed c-sections and one an episiotomy (sp?).

The dr. told my yesterday that induction increases the risk of C/S slightly, but so does extending the pregnancy past the due date, so the risks even out.

I like knowing that Thu is it, and being able to make plans.

Even though the way I'm feeling tonight, I hope I can make it to Thu:scared1: I'm hurting all over right now, and have had no appetite today. Dh had to take ds11 to the dr today-coughing, vomiting (from drainage) but no fever. He is on antibiotics and cough meds. He and I have been laying in the bed for hours watching tv. I have so much to do, and no will to do anything.

That was me. Natalie was going crazy last night. She kept rolling and kicking and punching. In fact, she is doing a pretty good job right now dancing. She and the banana  could have a dance off.

Check out banking, though. It's not bad and the hours are pretty consistant (since most banks have good hours!) and the benefits are amazing, I'll admit. My bank even paid my tuition for my Associates in Business Admin! :thumbsup2 Then I had to go and change my major to Elementary Ed....

That's definitely where I was hoping to get a job! Either that or some other kind of office job where they aren't open really late and don't stay open late on the weekends. I keep praying that my position I have where I am now (I'm a head cashier) will look good on a bank application since I have worked with money a lot and have been in charge of large sums of money. Definitely gonna look into a bank job though! And as far as vacation goes, I used my 40 hours vacation I had from last year when I went to California last summer. My two year anniversary with my job is May 31st and that's when I am eligible for my 80 hours of vacation. So it really wasn't a matter of holding out, I had to wait until I could use it. So the last two weeks in July would be best I think. So all in all I will be taking 14 weeks of leave and with my vacation, I'll have about 8-10 of it paid. I either get 6 or 8 weeks paid, depending on if I have a regular delivery or c-section and then my 2 weeks vacation is paid.

Sarah, I know this is kind of late but maybe just go hang out at a coffee shop somewhere? It's not "special" per say but it's a good place to have some conversation without a lot of noise and stuff.

Ahhh-- our company used to do that. They gave you an extra 2 weeks if you had a C-Section (I think it was exactly like you said, 6 or 8) but then they switched to automatic 12. :confused3 (You can see which bank I work for on Facebook, it's one of the biggies and I know we're in Texas somewhere because my DM just transferred there! :rotfl:) I :lovestruc everything, absolutely everything, about them. Except for the normal office drama you have everywhere (we're a 6-employee branch, it's impossible to keep things at bay!) it's a perfect job. I even love most of my customers, they're almost all elderly or farmers and truly great people.
I think our requirements were 6months of "cash handling" experience and a diploma. I was hired when I was 18- with only 2 years of Burger King as experience. There is also a test that you have to pass to get an interview. It's a pretty good job, I do recommend! (just try to remember I work with FIVE other people in a teeny tiny branch whenever I'm cheering about now having to go back... :rolleyes1)

Okay, I think I must be really slow. I don't use Facebook that much and I can't find on your profile which branch you work for. Am I really that out of it tonight? :rotfl:

About an hour after I posted that, it stopped.

Unfortunately, it stopped because my entire left leg cramped up and on top of being super swollen (because, of course, I told the Dr. yesterday I hadn't been having swelling issues for awhile) ... it was so cramped/tight/swollen I couldn't even wiggle my toes to work out the cramps.
I called DH, who was moving stuff to the other house, and was crying and gasping that I needed him to come home ASAP. ( I was in the recliner wtih the laptop on my lap and I couldn't move without causing another muscle to cramp, not even to get the laptop off my lap!)

I really wish I wouldn't have done that. He came running in the door, white as a ghost screaming for me.
He was engaged to someone else when he was in the Marine Corps.. She died, pregnant, in a car accident. I think everytime I wince/moan he thinks he's going to lose his family all over again... :guilty:

Oh no! That's so sad :( Sounds like your DH has had a pretty tough time of it between that and the PTSD. He's lucky to have you by his side though :goodvibes: Don't feel too bad about scaring him. You were in pain and believe me, I know how bad those leg cramps hurt. Sometimes it feels like they're never gonna end! I'm sure he knows you weren't trying to freak him out, you just had a gut reaction to something that really is painful.

Well, I think I'm gonna head off to bed. I have my 4-d ultrasound at 9 tomorrow morning. I'm really excited about it! I have to be at work at 1 so I probably wont have time to share the pictures before I go in but I am off on Sunday so I'll put them up then. Have a nice night and a great Saturday everyone!

Ya know, he has. I should give him more credit. He makes it easy to forget. He hasn't mentioned her in a long time, I just saw that look of terror in his eyes and realized what an idiot I was. The only time he ever really mentioned her was when he told me, when we first got together, he wasn't sure how serious things would get because he was still dealing with that. Then one day before we got married, he let me ask questions and he took all the photos and stuff and sealed them in a box in the basement. I think his PTSD is worsened by what he's been through in *life* above and beyond his service, he's got so many 'demons'. I try to help him.

Ohhh... YAY for 4D pictures! I can't wait to see!! :lovestruc:lovestruc

*ETA*- Yeah. Those things are frickin' excruciating!!!!!!!!

Awww, just wait. It's amazing but it is painful sometimes. Especially when there are little feet or elbows digging into spots you don't remember having! DS has been moving non-stop since dinner. I think he's happy we had roast tonight but my ribcage could use a rest. :goodvibes I can feel his little butt sitting right below my sternum. Hopefully Monday will be a good day for him.

It was a quiet day! My feet were so swollen because it was hot. We didn't get to play outside much because my shoes didn't even fit. But I did get a ton of laundry done that can finally be put away until winter. I think we picked a paint color for DS2s room. It's called IcyBlue and looks nice with the fish theme. I really wanted to match the tan of the set, but I didn't want to go too dark. It's not a huge room to begin with, so the lighter the better. We'll see what DH thinks.

I think that's a great idea...maybe we could bring along a card game or somthing too. We have one right near our houses that I love...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one getting kicked yesterday--I don't know what got into her but she was nuts! :thumbsup2

I too have had issues with swelling when it's hot...I'm going to have to put my wedding ring a on chain VERY soon.:sad2:

My wedding rings are in my jewelry box, and have been for months. I was stubborn with ds11, and refused to take mine off (it took me 8 yrs to get a ring-I was quite proud of it:rotfl:). My finger swelled up and turned purple, and dh threatened to cut them off. We finally got them off with butter, but it did hurt. So this time I just took them off about halfway and put them up. I can't wait to wear them again!

Ohmygosh! Thats scary, purple?!

I think DH would have cut my finger off! :rotfl:

We're both bad about wearing our rings. We'll be at the mall and try to sneak a peek at the others hands to see if they're "married" or not. He jokes that since I don't wear my rings anymore (and I don't wear the chain, either) that it looks like he knocked up his mistress. Boys!

Okay, here are a few of the pics from my 4-d this morning! I have a ton more but didn't have time to upload them all. I'll get around to it. But these three were my favorite. I'll tell you...it was amazing to see him in there. We got lots of great pictures of him. He's so teeny and squished in there. I'm in love :lovestruc

Here's one...he kept sucking on his hand :goodvibes

Little baby feet

And my favorite...it looks like he's laughing in this one!

As soon as I get more uploaded, I'll share them. But yeah, I definitely recommend getting a 4-d if you can. It's so cool! And worth the price!

Veronica, he's ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!! :lovestruc

Thanks for sharing Veronica!! He's so adorable!!

Adorable! My office does them, but they are $200 out of pocket, so we decided against it.

I can't wait to see my little girl Thursday! I'm trying to clean today, and took my last trip to the grocery store for a few weeks. I think I have everything we need for when she comes home. Ds11 threw up all over the bathroom while I was gone, so I just got that cleaned up. I hate that he is sick, but we spent a good hour snuggling on the couch this morning. At his age, I'll take that any way I can get it.
