Sarah, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend :( That is so rough. I agree with a previous poster though...maybe just send her a card to let her know she is in your thoughts and that you're there for her if she needs anything :goodvibes

So I honestly can't imagine my hips hurting even worse than they do now. I have been in so much pain ALL day, from the time I got out of bed. My right hip is just killing me! I was limping around at work all day like I was crippled or something and everyone kept asking me if I was okay. It was so embarassing. I finally came home and took some tylenol and now I have a cold pack propped against my hip hoping it'll ease some of the ache. If it's this bad now, I can't imagine how much it'll hurt in the next couple months :headache:

cseca, sending lots of baby dust your way :wizard: you're so close!

Thanks!

Have you tried any kind of exercise? I learned pretty quick that if I do a lot of walking, I feel much better the next day. I got a couple prenatal yoga DVDs from the library, but they just make me sleepy! lol I have a lot of pain at night--the whole lower region just kills me after a couple of hours...but the walking has really helped...

...

Yay for soon and :scared: at not getting the epidural... you're the one who told us that the promise of pain medication is the only reason you agree to get pregnant, right? :rotfl:
...

YES!!!! Exactly... now I'm just freaking out in general. The contractions aren't coming on regularly either. This whole labor thing is so confusing :sick:

Oh honey, you can do it. I know what you mean about pain tho. I get shooting pain on my hip and leg too. It's weird but the doctor keeps saying it's normal. The baby is just sitting on some nerves... nice...

Thanks so much Veronica! I hope to hold my baby by mother's day but he/she might not be cooperating and wait to be induced. We shall see... :rolleyes1

Yeah... that's what I keep hearing... ;)
Just kiddin... I know it'll all be worth it. Maybe you guys will be able to hear me wail all the way from MI... :rotfl:

Afternoon everyone!

I did get one piece of really bad news though, my friend did miscarry. She started bleeding heavily over the weekend. She's taking it really well and they've already had some time to come to grips with this reality, but I just don't know what to do. I'm inviting both of their parents to my showers and it feels sooo weird now. I hate the thought of them shopping for me when they should be shopping for her too.

And I'm just not sure how to handle the whole situation. I want to send her flowers, but with mother's day coming up that's even weird. Plus I really feel like the last person she would want to be around. SO if any of you has any advice, I'd love to hear it!

I had 2 miscarriages before I had DD. It was tough. I agree that everyone is different. I didn't want to talk about it much at first, but then talking actually helped me to heal. I think if she is your close friend, that you should at least call and let her know you are thinking of her and leave it to her if she wants to talk about it further. I was actually offended when one of my close friends just kind of ignored the situation.

As for the shower, I would invite her and again leave it up to her... Personally, I wasn't able to go to a baby shower emotionally after my mc's until I was pregnant again. But again, this is very individual.

Thanks!

I haven't really done any exercise, sad to say. Honestly, I am on my feet all day at work, running around all the time (I work in retail so no rest for the weary) so by the time I get home I am too worn out to do much of anything. Sometimes I feel really bad about it, like I'm being super lazy and other days I just don't care  I know I should try walking though. That would probably help. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks! I know I'm being a little whiny but it really does hurt. I have had other days where my hips feel sore but they didn't HURT like my right one has today. I know I'll make it somehow. We always do, huh? ;)

That would be so nice if you had the baby for mother's day! That would definitely be the best gift you could get. Of course, babies aren't always known for their cooperation. They come out when they are darn well ready to! :rotfl:

:scared1: I hope not. Hopefully you will have a quick birth. While I was in the waiting room for my doctors app't there was a new Mom there with her baby. She told everyone who would listen that her baby was out in 3 pushes and her labor was very short. If only I could be so lucky.

Yikes, I'm pretty sure everyone in the waiting room heard me yell. I thought I would be too embarassed to yell, but it was easier than I thought. :rotfl: I hope I get lucky and get to be home for the beginning like you are. 3cm is moving along. Yea!

Piecey - I was wandering Target yesterday and saw a big painting of the solar system with a rocket in primary colors. I'm not sure if you've seen it, but it looked very similar to your set. Just in case you were looking for something fun. :)

You're getting closer! 27 weeks... before you know it you'll be wondering where the time went (like me!)... and then the fun of no sleeping begins... :rotfl: (or so I heard... :rotfl2: )

Oh that's nice... I hope we'll be as lucky as that mom... 3 pushes... wow... If my labor story suck I promise I won't post it... :lmao:

HAHAHA!!! I'm sure I won't have a problem with yelling... I figure anybody who's pushing a watermelon out a hole a size of a pencil has the right to yell... so there!!! :lmao:

Yeah, this baby is moving along pretty slowly. I'm hoping by this weekend something exciting will be happening... :thumbsup2

Hi all,

Sarah, so sorry to hear about your friend. I went through the same thing with my best friend, we were even due the same date. BFF miscarried in November. Just be a strong good friend for her and listen.

I posted the quilt set I wanted for DS at at Bed Bath & Beyond. I went ot look at it and bought the quilt and sheet set yesterday using the 20% coupon. I just got a call my Step-daughter that her store where she works had it on clearance. I am so excited ...she is going to get me the complete set quilt, dust ruffle, shams, sheets, and valances...all on clearance then her 20 % discount on top of that!!:cool1: I can't wait for her to call with the total. What a nice surprise, love a deal!

I am going to have my hair done and then out to dinner tonight with my parents, DH & DS............shhhhhhhhhhh, this advanced maternal age mom turns 40 today!:scared1:

Thanks! I'll finally have the chance to call her tonight. I plan to do exactly what you said. I want to offer her all the support I can give, but only if she wants it...

She's actually in charge of some of the stuff for one of my showers (not much, just cookies and a game), so I'll see how she feels about that.

I didn't mean to make you feel bad! I honestly don't exercise that much at all, but I've just noticed that for me the walking helps...but my job is the opposite of yours! I sit most of the day. I know they say that you have to increase your activity the more you move for your job--because your body gets used to a certain amount of activity. But I totally understand being worn out!! You don't need to feel guilty about it!

Good morning girls. I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday and found the cutest fabric to make curtains for Natalies room. They had all sorts of cute decorating stuff for baby's. Both boys and girls. :thumbsup2 It is going to be a HOT on here today and Friday, close to 100.:scared1: Thank goodness it will cool down this weekend.

I was doing some more research on baby monitors and found this one. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3471724 It is the Philips Avent DECT baby monitor. It is $$$ but we even have problems with cordless phones in our house. We have thick walls. I think I might just have to splurge and give it a try. It also got great reviews on Amazon and Consumer Reports.

OMG!! I just finished my last storytime and my moms were so awesome!! I got flowers, cards, and hugs (these are all under 24 mo olds) and $50 in BRU gift cards!! And the cards are all so awesome...one grandma wrote that "Your new baby will be so lucky to have a mom like you!"

Happy tears!

:yay:Katie will be here next Thu, if not before!!!!!:woohoo: I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 next Thu morning for the induction. I was at 2 cm and he said I was very thinned out, so she could come before then. I called work and told them my last day is next Wed. It is so nice to have some plans made! My kids are going to spend the night with some friends (she was their kindergarten teacher and he is the baseball coach) and they will get them to school, then my parents are picking them up and bringing them over after school. That killed 2 birds-keeps my folks occupied and out of the hospital all day!:upsidedow

DH has a Dr. appt in Pittsburgh Monday and I'm taking him so maybe I can convince him on a trip to Target to check it out!! :goodvibes
