Moms to Be Part 3

I have a question for all of you. When did you start wearing maternity clothing? I have a feeling it's different for everyone, but I was just wondering if there was a usual week or month range.

I would say if you are uncomfortable then it's time. You can easily wear the maternity jeans with a more regular shirt and no one would know the difference. I think I was about 4-5 months when I was wearing only maternity. This time around though, I was barely 3 and showing already. It was a big change from the first time. I would recommend going to a consignment store for maternity. We have an awesome one near us that has every size from xs to plus and they carry Target, MiMi, A Pea in the Pod, Motherhood, and more.

I did use the rubberband trick for a while. You can also use a hair tie. There are some cute tanks on clearance at Target that came with a scarf and they were only $4. Not maternity but can double as such. They are long and pretty.

We got the Chicco high chair and really like it. It folds up like a ladder to store away so we just either leave it open next to the kitchen table or fold it and put it between the fridge and counter. It came with 2 snap on tray covers and reclines which was a help. We just put one of the trays away for our next child so we have a brand new one still. DS could sit with us at the table instead of on the floor in a bouncer. I found a travel high chair at a yardsale for $4 so we just keep it in the car. Although we don't use it all the time, I've also got one of these! he he he

Hi every one, I've been reading all the posts on strollers and I'm trying to figure out which one I like best. I think I'm falling in love with the Jeep one though! I have a question for all of you. When did you start wearing maternity clothing? I have a feeling it's different for everyone, but I was just wondering if there was a usual week or month range. I'm almost 12 weeks and wasn't very small to begin with (12/13 size pants) but my jeans are so uncomfortable! Part of me things it's too early, but the other part is screaming for comfortable pants, especially ones I can teach in. Any help is appreciated!

If you are uncomfortable, get some maternity clothes, or at least stretchy clothes!! It's a different time for everyone, but I'd say that''s about a good time to start, at the 3 month mark!!

Hi ladies!!! Just wondering how everyone is feeling? I'm a little (lot) behind on here, sorry!:goodvibes My 3 are keeping me busier than I thought!

Well, getting ready to leave for Disney in 3 days for Luca's first trip out of the womb! He's 3 months old today---I can't believe how fast time is flying!!

I really hope all is going well with everyone!!!

Please, please, please REPORT BACK!! I'd love to hear any tips for taking Luca.. as I'll be taking Lucas when he's 5 months old!! And plesae do share lots of pictures!! :goodvibes

I could be wrong about the Snugride Patsy--it's just what I came up with from doing a little searching on Google...either way I think the SS was a great way to go! I had discounted it, because I couldn't imagine carrying a 30 pound kid in it, but moms that have it say it really nice to just use it as a carseat once they get too big to carry...

No one knows but Graco... :rotfl:

I just know I'm having a bigger baby and I wanted as much use as possible for the $$. If he's too heavy to tote around by myself, I'll just have to wake him up and get him out of it.. DH would be able to carry him in it up to 30lbs, no problem, so I didn't worry too much about it.

Good morning girls. Hope everyone is having a great day. I have my doctors app't today then on Monday is my next u/s:thumbsup2.

Okay, now that I think we all have the stroller thing worked out, what kind of highchairs did you all get? I am torn between a free standing one, or one that snaps into a chair.

I was supposed to have an US on Monday but I have to move it so I can DH to the Dr. in Pittsburgh. Geesh, silly DH-- making me wait to see my kiddo!!

I got the Fisher-Price Rainforest one,

Clearanced out at our local TRU for $79.99 plus I had a 10% off coupon..
I'm all about the coupons.

skylarr- let me ask you something;) do you think theres a certain wdw bride to be thats a troll?? just wondering if you thought she was legit or not. I ask because, well-- you are keeping up with it better than I am.. and when i read it it all seemed fishy to me.. thought this was an out of the way place to ask :confused3

I've been poking around over there ever since I read Skylarr's report and... are we talking about someone who is "holding" some stuff but doesn't have anything actually booked yet? :confused3

Jeep has scored another follower! :rotfl:
I started with pants when I was about 20weeks... I had the most luck at Penny's, like Sarah... and only have 1 pair of full panel pants which are still a bit too big... going to get lots of use out of those, let me tell you..:rotfl:
I didn't NEED maternity shirts until almost 30 weeks..

I finished my last assignment for my grad class!!!!

Okay, I'm officially jealous!
I have a final tonight and I'm freaking out. There is just NO WAY I am going to pull this one out of my butt, preggo brain has a hold on me and I cannot make myself care what the domain of the function is. :rotfl:
Then I have another final tomorrow and I planned on studying at work...
..but like I said pregoo brain has a hold on me so I have to spend work tomorrow fixing what I messed up today (I HATE savings bonds, just let me say that.)

Congrats on the dinner tonight... enjoy it! What an honor to be chosen by your students.

...and I had to order a new USB cord for my camera off of Ebay (DH decided to "pack" (aka- throw everything in the living room in a box and take it to the other house and forget where it is) so... when I get that, I'm going to post my POPPED belly. I look pregnant! ... in the stretchy tanktop anyway... :headache:

She makes me sad.

I wonder if it'll actually happen? Seems like she just needs a "fairy tale" kwim?

Cathy has been pretty stressed out over the last few weeks. She's been having occasional panic attacks and general frettage, worried that there could possibly be a problem with the baby. Yesterday, Cathy and I went to her 12-week(ish) OB appointment, which also caused her stress because she hates being put in vulnerable situations.

She feels much better, now. We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time and they did another US. At first, the baby was just hanging out with her (his?) hand up against his cheek. Then, she sprang into action and did the fetal version of the YMCA. It was horribly cute. We've got it on cel-video. If we can figure out how to make it happen, I'll post it.

Glad cathy feels better now, and the baby put on a dance for you guys!:cloud9:

That is the highchair we have for DS, he loves it !

IDK? Whether its true, or whether it isnt... I do feel that this person doesn't know what they want. And typically-- when someone has an unlimited budget-- they typically know pretty much what they want. That thread confused me. I didnt know more in the first post than I did in the last.

Seems 'true' to me but whether it'll pan out the way she's hoping? Eh.. who knows. Hard to tell. Which is what makes me sad.

I used to be a dreamer. Then I moved out of my parents house and realized money doesn't grow on trees :rotfl:... so sad when responsibility catches up!!

Have you and your DH tossed around any other names? (I saw he veto'ed Levi)

I can't believe how close we're all getting!!

And I really want to read your TR but I'll admit, pictures keep me going back to peoples. I'm too visual for my own good. :(

:woohoo: I won $500 tonight!

The banquet was really nice. There were 24 kids and their parents (10 from my school, 10 from a neighboring school, and 4 from the private school in the next county who live in my town), plus me and a teacher from the other public school, and local dignitaries from the community. The kids and teachers always get a nice plaque, and that is all I was expecting. Then some scholarships are given out. Well, this one really eccentric old guy gave his company's scholarship by drawing a name from a bowl!!!!! Then he starts talking about how teachers don't make enough and how much we do, and says he is going to flip a coin to see which of us gets $500!!!!!:scared1: So we both go up front, he asks us to call it, the other lady won't open her mouth so I say heads, and I won! It was really weird, but I'm happy with my money! When I got home, dh asked me if I wanted to go to the casino this weekend. I NEVER win anything!

I am sooooo tired,but it was a great night!:yay:

****I just checked my grades, and I have an A in the class!!!!!!! Now if only the dr. tells me I'm at 4 or more cm when I go back Thu, and he wants to induce Friday, it will be a great week! I needed a day like today!

Wow, what a great night for you! Congrats on the money  And good for you for getting that A! You deserve it :thumbsup2

And I'll be sending lots of baby dust your way for your dr.'s appt. tomorrow :wizard:

December-congrats on your win! How exciting!! And here's to hoping something happens this week! :wizard:

KristEn87-i saw some of the bella bands at my Target the other day-you might want to check that out. They do work great when you aren't quite ready for Maternity pants yet. It also works great when you have some maternity pants that just don't want to stay up! (I seem to have that problem a lot!)

DH veto'd Sonny just so ya'll know so I guess we are sticking with the original names we had picked out.

This little boy is going to come early, I just know it! Hopefully not too early though. I have started having frequent BH contractions again and there's a lot of pressure and "achiness" of certain bones "down below".

DH is gone out of town (again!) but will be back Friday. This is his last scheduled trip..which is scary because it means we are getting that close!

December - Congrats on being honored and extra congrats for winning $500. . . tell DH not to squander it away, you have a baby on the way!! :lmao:

I agree- not too sure how this one will turn out. However, i dont think she has an unlimited budget. She seems hesitant to post photos of anything and it just all strikes me as odd.

DH did veto Levi. It was just a thought (and old family name i liked from many generations back). DH really likes Kylan (maybe some other spelling variation- im not sure). He also brought up Connor. Those have been his only two suggestions. We havent really went much further from that. We need to-- i think its one of those touchy subjects that im really afraid to go after. Im too scared he will hate what I really like, and I dont want to hate what he really likes. He did tell a friends mother (who we are close to) about Kylan and she said "You want to make sure the name doesnt sound ghetto". SHe didnt say it DID sound that way-- but, she through that in there none the less. Anyway, i just dont know what we will call this baby! LOL

I dont blame you about not wanting to read my TR. LOL. It was good, and the photos were better... but... this being a public board I didnt trust them on there for an extensive amount of time. Esp. after some crazy drama went down over there (who would have thought that a bunch of smiley face wearing brides would bring in drama--lol). I left that board-- i spent my days in hs..lol!

I hate that he didnt like Sonny-- but atleast you know you dont have to worry about that now! I was wondering about that yesterday but didnt want to ask. Thanks for the update:thumbsup2

Afternoon everyone!

December congrats on the big win!

I had a great night last night--we got to take Lily to her first Cavs playoff game! ;)Hopefully we'll get to take her to her first Championship game in a few weeks!

I did get one piece of really bad news though, my friend did miscarry. She started bleeding heavily over the weekend. She's taking it really well and they've already had some time to come to grips with this reality, but I just don't know what to do. I'm inviting both of their parents to my showers and it feels sooo weird now. I hate the thought of them shopping for me when they should be shopping for her too.

And I'm just not sure how to handle the whole situation. I want to send her flowers, but with mother's day coming up that's even weird. Plus I really feel like the last person she would want to be around. SO if any of you has any advice, I'd love to hear it!

how is everyone feeling today???

All this chat about an odd poster on the weddinng board has peaked my interest. I always lurk on there looking at the beautiful photos. I love keeping up with the latest wedding trends.

I have been doing alot of searching online. I am trying to plan what I want to do with my DS (2) big boy room. My DM bought him a sports lamp last week, so now I am in search of cute sports bedding. I think this is the one I want to get...

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=116946&RN=47

And I think he needs this cute wall plaque too...

Gah!!! 3cm 60%... if I don't deliver by the 10th, they'll induce me on the 11th.
I'm sooooo petrified because I haven't felt really bad contractions yet and if I'm too far gone they won't give me an epi... AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! :scared:

sarah im so sorry to hear about your friend. I dont know what I would do. I hope her and her family are doing well.

I'm having a hard time finding boy things that aren't sports related. We're not into sports and I think DH would divorce me if I brought home a Onesie with a football on it. :rotfl:
