Moms Panel Results!?

Ok, I'm dying here.
1) What were the 3 questions you winners had to answer?
2)And can any of you post your original letters of applications?
3) How many Moms are they going to choose?

My questions, too. I'm especially curious about what the next 3 questions are!

For any of you that made it to the next round I know some of us would love to read what you wrote on your original application. It would be interesting to see what Disney IS looking for. Thanks if you are willing to let us read your applications! Good luck to all of you!

I made it to the second round, but I didn't keep a copy of what I wrote. I didn't write anything special. Just basically said that I was married with 2 ten year old boys. I said that I've been to Disney about 8 times, starting when it first opened. I have taken my children to Disney at various ages (3, 7, 9 & 10). I mentioned that I stayed at Deluxe, Moderate and Value resorts and travelled by car and airplane. Also stated that I visited with extended family members. I really didn't say anything unique.

We realize it's no easy task just keeping a family moving every day, so we appreciate all the effort you put into your application. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response we saw and very humbled by the heartwarming stories we read in each of the applications.

With 10,000 moms (and dads!) applying, we had a difficult time narrowing the field to the next round. We personally read every application submitted. While you were not among those selected, we are very grateful that you took the time to enter and share your love for Walt Disney World Resort®.

I got the congratulations email this morning at 6 am. Emotions overwhelmed me as I read the email. I felt I had poured my heart into the essay. I made sure every work counted. I do not know if I will advance to the mom panel, but I do know this moment is perfect. Disney recoginized my heartfelt reply and acknowledged it by allowing me the opportunity to advance to the second round.

I know the feelings Disney creates inside me and know my fellow Disers share this bond. Because Disney brings a smile to our lips and hearts a rejection letter hurts. I love the touch of the stationary included in the no-acceptance email. I believe Disney looked at every email and felt our passion and knew a response good or bad was necessary to acknowledge the effort we put into our essays.

I too was lucky enough to receive a Congratulations letter, so I am moving on to the next round. Like the last time, we have to keep our responses to 100 words or less, so after writing my responses, I realized it was going to be impossible to sound unique, but still keep it less then 100 words. I cut a lot but sent in my responses. After sending it in, I received a Certificate stating I was a semi-finalist. And now I wait again.

By the way, someone earlier stated they wished they had a Dad's panel. Well, I am a Dad so maybe that helped me get through.

I will keep you all posted.

Yoo-hoo! I got picked for round 2, got my email today. I think I am the lone Disney-Dad on the DIS to advance. I just know that the winners will have to be from here. By my counts, there were 7 of us that advanced to the 2nd round, so methinks the likelihood is high for one or more of us to be the chosen Moms.

I also got an email inviting me to apply to be on a mom's panel for Walt Disney-Buena Vista Entertainment's new Mom's Panel. Did anyone get invited for this?

I have listed where they are from, the approximate number of DisBoard posts,and noted their name IRL (if it was in their board Sig line).

I'm so happy for all of you that were selected!! I filled out my "application" in such a hurry that in retrospect it probably wasn't a good idea....we were leaving for WDW less than 24 hours. I am glad I at least did that because as soon as we got back the link was gone Oh well I gave it a shot. I so hope you all enjoy and best of luck in round 2!!

I wonder if anyone has the seen/heard results of the focus groups WDW did here in Orlando about a year and a half ago (prior to start up of this panel) regarding the Moms Panel?

Your clue is that the results of those focus groups were pretty much the same as the ones periodically held here regarding working for WDW.

Count me in. I got chosen to fill out the survey and seemed to meet the qualifications. They said they'd email back me either way. I did the survey this morning!
