Mold at CBR

Hi everyone. I was reading a trip report post the other day, and the poster had mentioned that they had stayed at the CBR in one of the Jamacia buildings, and that the room had a lot of mold in it. Has anyone else experienced this? We will be staying at the CBR in December for the first time, and I am a little concerned about the possibility of mold. I don't think a little mold would bother me, but a lot of mold would. I was wondering also if this may be more prevalent in the Jamacia buildings than the others, and if so why.

Thanks in advance for any information you can share with me.

Doing the double digit dance. :D

I stayed in Jamaica building 43 in June/July this year and we never had any mold. The room was lovely and the location was perfect and the grounds beautiful.

We were in Jamaica a little over 2 weeks ago and it was VERY clean and everything looked new. No mold anywhere that I saw. I suppose they could have a problem room or 2. If you get one-ask to be moved. I am allergic and could not tolerate that.

What was the date of the posts you read? I have stayed at CBR
several times and always in Jamaica and every room we stayed in was like new and everything has been refurbished resort-wide.

Thanks Tartan Tiger and BibbidiBobbidBoo for the information. I feel a lot better now about staying at the CBR. We were actually thinking about requesting a room in one of the Jamaica buildings, so when I read this I panicked a little. My son also has allergies, and while a little mold would probably not hurt him I wouldn't want to take any chances.

Thanks again. :D

Hi hulabird. The date of the post was 10/14/03 and was on the first page of the Trip Reports board. The poster trip dates were 10/4/03 to 10/11/03 I think. The said that they had a room in Jamaica Building No. 43. The poster did not elaborate too much, just that there was a lot of mold. They also stated that they did not request to be moved to another room. This is probably just an isolated incident, and I am still looking forward to staying at the CBR.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. :)

We stayed at CBR (Aruba) in July. Our three rooms were very clean and we saw no sign of mold anywhere. We hope to stay in Jamaica when we go this December as the childrens play area is right there. I doubt we will have a problem; but will ask to be moved if there is.
