Yep. Jersey people do not call it Six Flags. That's what the New Yawkers do.
I was there in 93 when the Batman ride opened. It was Senior cut day.
The new roller coaster is called "Dark Knight", it's based on the recent Batman movie. They tore down the 'Batman & Robin, The Chiller' rollercoaster to put this in. The linear induction on the former ride was horribly rough, I never particularly enjoyed that one.
I had high expectations for the new coaster. Great Adventures sucks in customer service, shows, food, customer service, prices, crowd control, customer service, cleanliness. Did I mention that they have bad customer service? But their strength is they have great rollercoasters!!!
The Dark night is a coaster in the dark. Since it's brand new I thought it'd be fun. The queing is identical to RnR. You wait outside to be let into a "briefing" room, watch a video in the briefing room, then wait in another line until you get on the ride. The briefing room was pretty cool if a little on the scary side with 'haha' and 'why are you so serious' appearing on the walls in lights. The hallway was Subway themed and a little scary with monitors that had the words on them and joker smiley faces. A "security" cam kind of thing puts joker masks over people's faces. The whole preshow thing actually was scary enough to make some little kids cry and leave the line.
However, once you got on the coaster. It was a wild mouse style coaster with a few special effects as you went by. Literally, all it consisted of was a few curves around and a couple of small hills up and down. All that buildup for a lame ride. Good thing it wasn't crowded and I didn't wait all that long. Colin liked it however even though the first time he was scared of the theming and wanted to get out of line.
