Modify free dining reservations?

Hoping to book free dining when it comes out but I'm unsure exactly our dates (depends on which day we end up flying). If I were successful at making a reservation with free dining, is it possible to drop a day off the beginning and/or end of the reservation without having to rebook (and potentially losing) the whole thing? This is assuming of course that our new check in day is a day when free dining was offered.

Now, you're entire new stay has to be available as a new booking for them to modify. It's essentially booking fresh but their just modifying to make it more seamless for the guest.
