Hello everyone,
I wanted to check to see how mobile ordering is going these days. I heard it's gotten slower since the dining plan was added as a payment option. Does it take long enough that you should say "I'm Here" even before you're there yet, or should you only do it when you get there?
Thanks!

Hello everyone,

Wait until you are there otherwise you may be the reason for the slowdown. I don't think it's been that bad.

We used it once last week for Cosmic Rays. It was slightly later, at around 1:30. I placed the order as we got to the door by the Mad Tea Party. By the time I got to the bay for mobile orders, it was only about half a minute before they called my name.

We used it twice while there over March break. At Restaurantsaurus it took about 15 minutes for our order ready notification - but the line to place an order was out the door! At Columbia Harbour House it was less than 2 minutes - the line was long there but not out the door. We paid by dining credits both times. Other quick service meals we just lined up for our food as the line wasn’t long at all.

When we went through the door and said "I'm here" it was almost always 10 minutes- we probably used it about 5 times. I thought that was perfect timing to find a spot, get some silverwear/napkins, get kids set up, and then go grab the food. Love it!

The only problem we had with it was that with it being so new, people (myself included) weren't really clear on the procedure. We had people shove in front of us at Satuli Canteen, for example, actually holding their phones up in our faces to show us their order was ready so they needed to go up there. We tried to explain that our order was ready too, but they got huffy and shoved up there anyway and took their trays while the CM was still putting the drinks on.

We also had an issue when we went to pick up our Dole Whip, as a woman went in that line, made a huge order, and they didn't tell her she had to go get into the regular line. She just didn't move, so they served her while all the people who had done mobile order stood behind waiting. It was a little frustrating.

I think mobile order is wonderful, but think they need some more signs to explain the procedure and the CMs need to be a little stronger in their enforcement of the procedure.

Unfortunately, no matter where you go, you will run into people like that. Luckily, at WDW, they are usually in the minority.
