MNSSHP this past October?

I was there on what had to be the most crowded night - a sold out 10/31 with good weather. There are two ways to look at the crowds. First, you have reports here from people dissatisfied with the crowding. And, to be honest, if you walked down the streets at certain times, went trick-or-treating / tried to ride Pooh at 7:30, it *was* crowded.

But it was easily possible to tour the whole park without ever dealing with crowds, as it was never anywhere close to full. Early and late in the evening, the park was pretty empty - even the popular rides and special Halloween events (candy, photos, etc) were all either walk-on, or very short wait. And during the peak middle hours, it was only the popular stuff that was crowded. You could eat, ride the less-popular rides, sightsee, etc. without any hassle.

So while smaller crowds are always better than larger, I wouldn't stress too much about avoiding the "crowded" nights.

We were there this year on the 25th. We felt the crowds were low. There were no waits for rides and we went on SM 3 times in a row. All the Fantasy Land rides were walk ons as well. I think the fact that it was a Tues helped. We had a blast!

We went this yr on Sun (oct 2nd?) it was the 2nd night. It was not bad @ all as far as crowds go.

It wasn't too hot - just the normal shorts - t-shirt weather - kiddos were find in their princess costumes.

It did rain on us, but we just watched the clouds & ran for cover (went into Pirates) before it stormed--watched quite a few folks get drenched though--haha! But it was those quick pop of thunderstorms you get in FL...you can't go to WDW w/o getting rained on (or so it seems!)

For anyone who has been and watched the parade what are the best viewing areas? How early should we go and claim a spot? I want to be able to take some good pictures of the headless horseman as well as the entire parade :goodvibes

The best location, IMHO, for lighting purposes...good view of the Headless Horseman would be in around Country Bear Jamboree. We sat there and got great shots of the Headless Horseman. Big difference from when we tried to videotape and take photos on Main St and they didn't come out good at all but our video in front of Country Bears is GREAT.

In that area, you can get a spot 1/2 hour before maybe even less but on Main Street probably about an hour before.

Thanks beattyfamily! I was worried about the lighting factor. I am not the best picture taker. I assume because it's darker in Frontierland than on Mainstreet the pictures come out better. I heard that someone tells a story about the headless horseman by the liberty bell. Did that happen at this past MNSSHP?

We went the 20th and they crowd was not too huge, we walked on Splash mountain 3 times in a row. It is a riot and well worth the money. Our kids had a blast! Thinking of going end of Nov early Dec to do MVMCP. Good luck on picking your date.
