MNSSHP coming back 2021?

It would be fiscally smart for Disney to bring the the parties back. They are huge money makers and it's easy to limit the attendance. However, it seems like Disney is operating on a "cut everything that's not essential" mindset right now, even if it's something that would bring in a lot of revenue.

So, time will tell.
Parties have fireworks, parades, special character meet and greets, and special food. Right now there are no fireworks, no parades, and no meet and greets. They're going to do a party with only special food? And I guess trick or treating? I guess Disney is in a "lets cut everything we possibly can and see if people will still come" mode, so I wouldn't be shocked.

Parties were cut last year. Anything holiday related that is offered this year will be gravy.

Parties ‘did’ have fireworks, parades, etc. Whatever they might roll out will, understandably, be a very different experience. Same as it was during our two visits in the last year. One last week. Enjoyed it & felt safe enough that we’ll be back the end of April :).

Any parties would be promoted as ‘exclusive’ due to much lower capacity, that alone, would likely fill the park after hour events as to FOMO.

Yes, that's how parties used to be. However, I can see them doing a Hallowe'en party that is still exclusive/desirable in a different way. They could absolutely have fireworks being set off so that you can see them from all over the park and not gathering by the castle. Hallowe'en overlays and projections everywhere, Spooky character cavalcades and all sorts of socially distanced Hallowe'en character meet and greets. Rides with no long waits in and of itself would be a great perk.

But, I agree that Disney seems to be in a cut everything mode and it remains to be seen whether they would do this. Although I do think people would pay a huge premium to go to a party this year and Disney would make good money doing it.

I have no doubt that they could offer some kind "taste of" halloween party upcharge event. I doubt it has even close the offerings you just described though. It'll probably basically be an after hours event where they are charging you for **maybe** shorter lines, some exclusive treats, and some overpriced exclusive merchandise. Basically all things that don't really cost them extra money. Character meet and greets require extra staffing, fireworks cost money, etc.

IF they went back to ticket sales #'s like there were back in the "day" (where the parties were exclusive events that were not crowded) then yes.
They won’t be. It’ll just be a nighttime ticket with probably the same capacity restrictions as during the day. You’ll be able to buy a special halloween cupcake though. And maybe there will be some ride overlays.

Well, well, well...what have we here?

Say what you will, can’t see them forgoing the event-only themed popcorn bucket :cloud9:

nor, for that matter, the multitude of special merchandise that keeps the eBay pirates In business

Yes, I agree, I could see them having a $150 night ticketed event where the main draw is the ability to buy a $20 popcorn bucket.

New Fauci interview says things could be “normal” by July 4th in not so many words. Article for your viewing pleasure

what’s this mean for the other holidays? Our halloween in Florida was normal last year besides some distance and candy shot through tubes (honestly tho, that can definitely stick around). Other theme parks did halloween in 2020 and will run with this news in their preplanning.

something hard ticket has to occur at WDW, even if it is insanely modified and still full of masks and distancing.

We're really hoping that they have MNSSHP this year! We're going in early September - fingers crossed! It's looking good on the vaccine front for sure.
If they have MNSSHP, I expect it to be basically just be DAH with some decorations and expensive limited time treats. Don't look for fireworks, parades, or M&G's.

If there are fireworks and parades, there will certainly be those hard-ticket parties (gotta recoup the costs somehow). They can always still do the socially-distant character greetings (I don’t think Disney will be doing in-person character greetings by September).

Parades are really the big wildcard though. I think fireworks are a distinct possibility as early as June or July, but I haven’t heard anything on Disney’s feelings towards parades.

I think there’s a good chance of both parties happening this year — albeit in a modified format (maybe shorter, less frequently, fewer attractions, more expensive, fewer tickets sold, etc...) — but we likely won’t have an answer until the summer at least.

I’d venture that if we don’t hear by April, it’s not happening.

union contracts will take time to negotiate, Casting and training, plus preruns.

if it was as simple as waiting till August and then throwing something together, we wouldn’t be speculating on this thread.

my understanding is the CMs start in the early summer learning everything for the holiday parties. Will they have a contract negotiated (and will it involve equity union members?) will disney provide the Modified space in June for practice? Will they come up with out of the box solutions (maybe distance practice that first 6 weeks before coming together? Or a quarantine period?)

so they could totally nix parades, and have only a few distanced meet and greets, plus a castle show (maybe one or two performers?) and then lots of exclusive merch plus ride overlays if they didn’t negotiate early with the unions for the parties.

Just because we may not hear by April doesn't meant it's not happening. Everything could be going on behind the scenes for whatever type of party they may plan to have, but not releasing info to public/selling tickets until they are pretty darn confident the party can go ahead as planned.
Probably don't want to have to deal with refunding tickets if they don't have to.

I like your way of thinking!! Really hoping they decide to have it :)
