MNSSHP, booked FP+ 4-7pm, what about MB?

Currently booked to stay at POFQ for two nights before our cruise. Bought tickets to attend MNSSHP only, no other park tickets. I just booked three FP+ between 4-7pm prior to the party beginning at 7pm.

We may be switching our room only res to stay at Swan/Dolphin on SPG points. If we do stay at Swan/Dolphin, they will not be sending us MBs. I know they sell them there on-site.

My question, do we need MBs in order to be able to use these FPs? I thought I read we do not need MBs for the party portion, but now I'm confused on what exactly we should have in order to use these FPs from 4-7pm before the party begins.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need MagicBands. If you have your party tickets linked to MDE, then the ticket will provide the link to your FP data at the FP tapstile.

How were you able to book FPs without a regular (non-MNSSHP) ticket?

I just tested it out and apparently the system allows you to do that. It's kind of a flaw, but in its defense, it doesn't exactly know what days you are going to what parks.

My vacation is from October 3-10, but I only purchased 5-day MYW tickets because one day is basically checking in/out and our other day is a MNSSHP night.

I guess because of that, I can create fastpass+ selections on the day that we are going to MNSSHP and since we do plan to be there right at 4 pm, I think these selections will be fine.

BUT the system first recommended ride times before 4 pm that I could have unknowingly reserved, so it's sort of a flaw.

ETA: If I go back to select another day, so my check in day, it now tells me I have reached my fastpass+ limit.

But the OP says she/he has not bought ANY other park tickets. I was under the impression that you couldn't use FP+ with just a party ticket. If you can, that would be great news!

Oh, I missed that. Good point and I don't know the answer and have no way of checking.

I would say though that since it now tells me my selections are maxed out, it appears that the system allows three fastpass+ selections for every park ticket day that you have. You just can't make a selection during the actual party time (7-12).

You could accidentally choose a time for when you are not allowed in the park though if you didn't know any better.

If you only have party tickets booked you can book FP+ from 4-7 on those days. If you have regular tickets too the system tries to use your real tickets and puts a bit of a kink in the plan.

I have just discovered another glitch. We have bought 2 sets of MNSSHP tickets but no real tickets yet. I was able to book FP+ for the first party pre-party hours, but not for the second. It said I was out of FP+ allotments. Both sets of tickets are showing up fine in my MDE.

I had NO IDEA there was such a thing as a FP tapstile, is the tapstile where guests place their MBs in front of it to get it to change color? I am very confused.....if guests can simply use their hard ticket at the tapstile, why does everyone have MBs? It sounds like maybe they aren't really needed????

BIG THANKS for the help! It's obvious I haven't been there since the start of the FP+ rollout. :lmao:

In order to use FP+ in any form you must having something with RFID. If you are staying onsite that is a MB. If you are offsite your ticket will be RFID. Honestly I have no clue how they are going to work party tickets this year. Last year I just showed them my printed ticket (from my printer at home) with a barcode to get in for the party even though I had a magic band. I guess if you don't have a magic band they will give a rfid party ticket??? :confused3

Oh wow, this leads me to another question. I selected the "print at home" option. How will I get an RFID ticket with my paper print outs????:confused3 Anyone know?

I am not sure on this, but my guess would be that you need to check in at guest services at MK and exchange the print at home ticket for the MNSSHP card. That is what we did last year, however, the FP+ was still in the testing stage. Get there early as we had a bit of a line up to wait in.

I discussed this very issue link below post # 11

even though the website showed the option as in past years to print at home it shouldn't have ( read above ) this year

Long story short after calling ticket phone number I received my hard ticket via FedEx yesterday which I then added to MDE and will choose the FP+ when I reach the 30 day window Note: It is the only ticket in my MDE account

I also was able to book fp+ on my Mnsshp date before 7p.:goodvibes

I got a hard ticket sent to me and linked it to mde
