I thought they added BOG, hmm I'll have to look for that. sure that one was on the list! :upsidedow

I thought preordering was just for quick service, and since BOG is table service at dinner pre-ordering wouldn't be available? I could be wrong on that though

Hi

I’m back to share my notes from our recent experiences at MNSSHP. (My original party plan post is #1606.) This was our first party and we decided to get tickets for two
nights (10/5 & 10/6) in hopes that we would feel less pressure to get everything done in one night. We had an AMAZING time and would love to go back again. Thank you so much to this board especially, @FoxC63 & @Cluelyss for your suggestions. It rained on and off both nights of the party and it was actually less crowded on 10/6th, Friday night. I think maybe the rain kept the crowds lower and the locals away??? We were mostly dry and perfectly happy in our lightweight waterproof windbreakers and mini umbrellas. We brought ponchos but never ended up using them. Anyway, so here are my notes... please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

Ran into a cast member we met this past spring who gave us the most magical moment during that trip. It was the last day of our trip and she let us ride 7DMT as many times as we could before we had to leave for our flight home! We were so lucky to run into her again this trip so we spent some time catching up with her while she was clearing the Ariel section of the park of non-MNSSHP guests.

Tried to stop by HM for Lantern shot, photographer wasn’t out yet but should’ve been... headed over to Adventureland for more charcter meets.

Also, we checked Trader Sams for the hitchhiking ghosts tiki mugs several times during our trip and they didn’t have them in stock yet. We were told to try back closer to Halloween...

Hope there’s something here that helps bring some magic to future parties! :wizard:

Sounds like you had an awesome time! 2 parties is definitely the way to go...less pressure. Last year we were able to concentrate on M&Gs one party and the shows the next party. Sadly, we only have one party this year but we have a plan (and will go with the flow as needed, LOL).

Fox, this thread was so handy when I was planning for our two MNSSHPs, that I wanted to link to the relevant parts of my trip report in case anyone wants to read about our experiences on a Sunday (9/24) and a Tuesday (9/26) parties. Much of my trip report is about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter so it's on the Universal trip report board, but it also covers the 2 MNSSHPs.

Anyway, here's the start of the 9/24 party TR:

Harry Potter, a bit of MNSSHP, Shades of Green - Fall 2017 Pre-Trip AND TRIP Report!

If the link doesn't work, it starts on page 6, post 116!

Hi All. Been a month without being here as I am from Puerto Rico and got hit badly by Hurricane Maria. I had a solo trip from October 27 to October 31, with a party ticket for the 27th. Jetblue moved my flight from 7 am to noon, so I moved my party ticket for the 29th and paid for an extra night at the end of the trip. I am still debating to go, as I am sick and tired of lines right now (example: If I go to Walmart, I get into a line to get in, then a line inside walmart to get water, then a line to pay, then finally a line to get out because they verify the receipts), but also I can use the distraction for a few days.

Anyway, If I decide to go this would be my plan for my MNSSHP

DATE: October 29, 2017

3:00-3:45 Arrive to MK get in line
3:45-4:10 Enter MK, Grab my Treat Bag and walk to Haunted Mansion
4:10-4:30 FP Haunted Mansion 3:30-4:30
4:30-5:00 FP Big Thunder Mountain 4:30-5:30
5:00-5:40 Pirates of the Caribbean
5:40-6:00 FP Jungle Cruise 5:30-6:30
6:00-6:30 Trick or Treat and walk around Adventureland and Frontierland
6:30-7:15 Grab something to eat on Sleepy Hollow (Chicken Waffle!)
7:15-8:00 Hitchhikers Magic Shot
8:00-8:30 Many adv of WtP or Little Mermaid
8:30-8:45 Trick or Treat Fantasyland
8:45-9:15 Buzz Lightyear
9:15-9:30 Peoplemover
9:30-10:30 Hallowishes - Is this enough time to grab a decent spot considering that I am solo.
10:15-11:05 10:45 Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
10:45-11:40 11:15 Boo-To-You Parade (Main Street)
11:40-12:00 Will try to get into 7 Dwarves Line.

Any critique is welcome. I am solo so I have tons of flexibility on my trip. The trick or treat also include taking pictures and just enjoy being there. I dont plan into getting into any Meet and Greets.

trick or treating outside of the bypass won't start until 7:00.
Suggest getting some photos and poison apple magic shot in bypass upon arrival.
I'd use your 6:30-7;00 to eat.
I think you'll lfind you have time for additional photos, rides, or M&G scattered throughout.
everything else looks good.

Sounds like a perfect plan to me! I have fun with the obsessing, tweaking, and over planning while keeping my expectations low during the actual touring part... my motto is to under promise and over deliver! :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to hearing about your upcoming party and hope you have an awesome time! :cheer2::maleficen

Welcome back! :welcome:
Glad to hear it sounds like you are on the mend. Your plan has a lovely balance of rides and party exclusives. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. I noticed that the trick or treat lines were long earlier in the night so it might be a better use of your party time to do most of your ToTing after 9pm. Looks like maybe you could hit up Tomorrowland candy stops after Fantasyland in between Buzz and Peoplemover? And yes, I think that will be plenty of time to grab a fantastic spot for Hallowishes. Since you're solo, you'd likely be fine arriving 15-25 minutes before the start of the show. Also, since you may try to get in line for 7 Dwarves, you might want to go for a parade spot on the curb closer to the hub so you can get over to the Dwarves more easily after the end of the parade.

Could you tell me more about the "dh went to Disney Chamber of Commerce to store our merchandise" part? I did not know that you could go there and give them your merchandise to store, I was thinking the shop had to send it. Plus, I thought they didn't do this after 7pm because of the party. I'd like to know more as we'd thought about getting a locker just for our purchases that night, but this would be awesome...and free if we could do this instead. Thanks!!!

Looks great to me! I also posted your itinerary to the Main Post for easier access, so please do not re-post it. If you make any changes just post a note! Also here's a list of: Halloween Magic Shots Post #5

I'm sorry about Maria, I can't imagine what your dealing with, I would say go, you deserve a break and to go and enjoy yourself for a few days.
If you head down to the Town Square you have more chance of a good seat and closer to the parade time. My second party I nabbed a Starbucks before sitting down.

If you use FP well and either Kenny's character locator or touringplans.com or something like that and do certain rides at certain times can definatly reduce the wait.

I'm sure I wasn't in any line more than 30 minutes.

Warning - Late October Peeps

Looking at the 10 Day forecast in Orlando it looks pretty chilly at night on October 25 & 26 and could go into the remaining month. I realize the weather can/will change so keep an eye on it and plan and dress accordingly.
64°/63° temps are nothing to scoff at especially for children and the elderly so bring a sweater or get in line to purchase an overpriced sweatshirt at the parks! :flower3:

That's what I came home to and its got colder the last couple of days (just converted) I know its night now but it's about 53F outside :(

I'm looking at booking a DLP trip in June for the FanDaze event they released. Not only am I still waiting on package information but no one has spoken about it on the Paris part of the DIS. I miss WDW planning already. :rotfl:I finally went through all my photos so going to start writing my trip report soon and hopefully remember things that I can share with you all that will help with MNSSHP.

Thanks!!!

We just got lucky and stumbled upon this perk ourselves. After we picked up our Oogie Boogie popcorn buckets, my hubby decided to go get a locker to store them along with the rest our new Halloween goodies. He said that when he made it down Main Street and started asking around for the location of the lockers; a cast member explained that he could just take everything over to the Chamber of Commerce and they would store it for you... for free :) The Chamber of Commerce is located across from Town Square right next to City Hall. The cast member at the Chamber of Commerce offered to have our stuff delivered to our resort but it wouldn’t arrive til the following day. This would’ve been perfectly fine with us but when she noticed the Oogie Boogie popcorn buckets, she said that we’d need to pick everything up before park closing. She explained that since they wouldn’t be able to replace the OB popcorn buckets if they got lost, she wouldn’t recommend having our stuff delivered to our resort. Picking up our stuff from them at the end of the night was super quick and easy too. My husband walked in and came out with our goodies in less than 2 minutes.

Disney is truly great about making it as convenient as possible to help people spend money. There’s few other places that make me feel so happy to spend my money. I think they must sprinkle pixie dust on everything!!!:tinker:

Thanks!:goodvibes That is awesome! And just to be sure, this was after party start time? (I'm guessing it was since you had the OB Popcorn bucket) We are going to stay for the last Hocus Pocus show, so would they still be open at 12:30am-1am? We'd want to pick our stuff up too...I might have an Oogie Boogie if I get lucky :thumbsup2

We are headed to the party tonight. This will be our first party experience. I'm hopeful that its not too crowded and that we have a blast!
