MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

It's probably stupid to ask, but, I'm assuming MNSSHP is a 'don't miss'? We'll be in WDW 10/20-10/26, celebrating DD's 7th bday (we'll also have DS, who will be 16months at the time with us....could be a long night for him). I was starting to think it may not be worth it, but then saw some pics, and now I'm thinking it looks like too much fun to pass up....

The best event WDW does in my opinion, but it isn't cheap.

Thanks...Magic doesn't come free, right? ;) I think we'll do it.

I don't think you'll regret it. Watch these boards and this thread in the days leading up to your party for lots of good tips, and don't be afraid to ask questions. :goodvibes

Yay - we just booked for Oct 8th - our first trip to WDW and first MNSSHP!

Kids are going to be dressed up as Harry Potter characters (I know, I know, wrong studio, but it just works so flippin well! DS1 makes a perfect Harry, Ds2 looks great with spray in red hair for Ron, and DD makes an adorable little frizzy haired Hermione!) Not sure if Dh and I will be dressing up or not, probably McGonagall and Dumbledore, if anything. Already preparing kids with appropriate "hexes" and "jinxes" for the heckling they are sure to get!;)

I have been on the fence about going only because of the price, but leaning toward going. It looks like a blast and well worth it.

I just received my Fall Disney Visa Rewards brochure in the mail. They are offering a discounted Party Ticket to cardholders for Disneyland but doesn't mention Disney World. The offer is for $46.00 per person. Do you know from past experience if they have ever offered that for Walt Disney World? I would wait to see but don't want to wait until the night that we want to go is booked.

Unfortunately, there is no Visa discount for WDW. There are certain party dates that have a slight discount if you book at least one day prior to the party. Those dates can be found in post #1 of this thread. :goodvibes

Forgot to mention, tickets are for Friday 9/11. there are only a couple days that really work for us and since we're visiting the park Mon-Thurs, I figured taking a break to go that friday night would be better than rushing it on the Tues with Epcot already planned

You mean 9/14?

Yay! I get to order our tix for the September 18th party today! AND it's my birthday. What an awesome present eh?

How far in advance do you need to buy tickets? (i.e. how quickly do they sell out?) We're planning on going Tues, 10/23, so should I buy them ASAP, or do I have some time?

We plan to go that night also. I was wondering that too! :goodvibes

i bought mine at the end of july for oct. 25. then again, i am quite neurotic and a giant worry wart haha. :rotfl2: i'm not giving expert advice; i'm just saying what i did. this is my first trip to disney world at this time, so i have no idea how likely these events sell out. from what i've read, the closer you get to halloween, the more likely the event is to sell out. on the other hand, people like to wait until they arrive to see which dates will have better weather. we don't really have a choice since the 25th is the only party we can make, so we just are crossing our fingers that we have good weather.

I was planning on buying them probably within a month, but I don't want to wait until the middle to end of Sept and find out the 23rd is sold out! We'll be there all that week, so we could go another night, but that night I think is the best for our schedule. I also hear Tues is a slow party night (school night for local kids), so I'm hoping we'll be okay on 10/23 NOT being sold out before the first of Oct!

We will be there that night! We are getting the military deal and from what I understand we have to wait til that day to buy tickets. Fingers crossed that it won't sell out. Hoping that it being in September and on a Tuesday the odds will be in our favor ;)

October dates haven't been announced yet, but CMs have received Oct discounts in the past; typically announced Oct 1.

Really? My sis said they only receive discounts for September for MNSSHP and for November for MVMCP. We are planning to go to the party on Oct. 14. It would really be nice to get a discount but I'm not sure if we should wait that long to get tickets. Why don't they announce before then?
