MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

I was planning on buying them probably within a month, but I don't want to wait until the middle to end of Sept and find out the 23rd is sold out! We'll be there all that week, so we could go another night, but that night I think is the best for our schedule. I also hear Tues is a slow party night (school night for local kids), so I'm hoping we'll be okay on 10/23 NOT being sold out before the first of Oct!

We were there last year for the week before (we left on my birthday, the 23rd) We will be there the week after this year. I can't say about "normal" crowds for the party but will tell you that weather is a factor to consider. It's a rain or shine event. Last year, we bought our tickets when we got down there to start our trip thinking that we had played the odds - going on the 18th (a Tuesday). We hadn't. A rather large storm blew up in the early afternoon. While it misted and sprinkled most of the night during the party, we had a great time. The crowds were very low. Whether it was Tuesday, the weather or both, I don't know.

We are going again. I'm a little worried about our week choice (the week of Halloween) but hopeful that we can find another party where the crowds are light and my two dd's get to dance and meet their favorite storybook friends.

Question: we are going in sept and wish to get the military rate, but can't buy tickets until we get there, has the first couple of Parties ever sold out.

Question 2: are all the rides available, or only certain ones.

Comment:I am going as the seeing eye dog, my dog is going as the blind person, wave hi to us is you see us, although we probably won't see you so we won't wave back, forgive us, I need to teach her how to wave.

I don't believe the first parties have ever sold out.

Almost all rides are available, certainly the headliners are. I'm thinking minors such as Carousel of Progess, Hall of Presidents, and maybe Jungle Cruise are not.

Remember, you can also buy the MNSSHP tickets at MWR too at a base/post close to you, that might help save you a trip to Shades of Green...I'm not sure if Guest Services sell them at the park?

You're costume choice is too funny!! Once my youngest son took a picture of my oldest son's face and printed it out and made it into a mask and pulled a hoody over his head to hide his darker hair color...it was hilarious. It was a last-minute decision and his brother was already out trick-or-treating and didn't know about it....he flipped out when he ran into "himself" later in the evening! :rotfl::rotfl:

Really? Didn't know we could buy them on base! Good to know!

DH and I are going to the November 2 party. It'll be our first party, DH's first time at Disney! Anyway, we're not too clear regarding the rules for costumes... DH got this shirt with a skeletal Mickey but I'm not sure if it's ok to wear.... :confused3 The salesperson from French connection scared us since he said that DH should most probably not wear it at Disney... :scared: Please see link below and let me know what u think. Thanks!

I find that a little creepy actually, but I doubt it would be a problem. :goodvibes

Lol that will be perfectly fine to wear. Only real rule is no masks. And no impersonating characters by posing autographing etc

I'm going to wait on buying tickets until a couple of days before hand to make sure the weather is good. I don't mind some rain, I just don't want to have party tickets in the event a tropical storm/hurricane affect the weather there.

My question is about crowds. We will have 3 choices when we go 10/8 (Monday AND Columbus Day), 10/11 (Thursday) and 10/12 (Friday). Friday is out of the question cause I have read that Fridays are typically the busiest. And I'm sure in a "normal" week, Monday would be the lowest crowds. However, with it also being Columbus Day (I have read that park crowds are heavier than normal that day) do you think the Thursday would be our best bet for the party? I guess really what I'm hoping is if someone on here has attended a party on Columbus day the last couple of years can give me some input.

We are really excited about this trip as we are bringing my nephew (age 6) and he as never been to WDW. In fact, he's never been on vacation at all and I really, really want to make this special for him :goodvibes

TIA

This is not correct!

I thought we could get military rate in DTD as well? Is that not true?

The internal notice (for the military tickets) specifically states: "Discounted Tickets are NOT available at Military Bases, Shades of Green, DisneyWorld.com or 407-W-DISNEY." They are only available at Park (including water parks, DTD and TTC) Ticket or Guest Relations Windows.

When do they start selling MNSSHP merchandise in the parks? I want to get DH and me party shirts!

The Party merchandise is only sold during the parties. It is not available to the general public unless any remains after the last Party of the year.

I am planning on attending the Thursday, 10/4 party, any thoughts on the crowd levels? Should I switch to Sunday 9/30?

My hubby and I finally got our costumes together! He's going as a Run-DMC looking rapper complete with blowup boom box :rotfl2:
and I'm dressing up in 80's as well, I might even carry my Barbie and the Rockers lunchbox with me! :rotfl:
