MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

Yes, there are 'stations' all around the park. They are marked on the map. Some of them are right out along the pathways in plain view, others are along 'trails' with several stations, like the path between Toontown and Tomorrowland that runs along the railroad tracks.

OK, forgive me, I'm new. I'm right with you guys with most of these abbreviataions, but what is "MNSSHP?" :confused3 I cannot figure this one out?

Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party.

When you walk in they hand you a little orange bag with black handles...with a disney/halloween picture on it. Then all throughout the park, there are
"stations" with big giant halloween balloons. They have cast members there under the balloons with big giant buckets of candy and most of them give you handfulls at a time. There is usually a line (moving) too so you really cant miss it. I think in most spots there is at least 2 lines giving out candy under one balloon. For example, right next to Buzz in front of Great Big Beautiful tomorrow there was one. Then another across from the Race Cars. Thats Thats about the distance from one to the next...I remember one across from Pirates, and one by Splash Mountain. Plenty of them, and they give you plenty of candy at a one shot. Then when you LEAVE the park...they are standing there and give you mounds more. We ate it all week and still came home with candy..I'm not kidding. And we did NOT make trick or treating any kind of priority..if we came across it we did it, but were much more interested in getting on all the rides with the NO LINE private party! :cheer2:

I can't wait for MNSSHP. This is our first year to go to the party and we will have our almost 3 yo with us. DH and I are trying to figure out costumes so that we can get to work on modifying them for hot weather. Our tickets came this week, we are going 9/29!

Got out tickets delivered last week for Oct 19! I also won a "Yoda" costume for $9 on ebay for ds7 that should arrive next week. Dd5 will be Jasmine. We are REALLY looking forward to our first MNSSHP!

We too are going to our first MNSSHP on the 12th and we are jumping out of our skin just waiting, so I know how ya feel. I was just reading the post about the amounts of candy they hand out. I had thought with the amount of people/kids they would limit how much. I was going to have the kids decorate one of their own bags with halloween stuff (the kind you can get at Michaels or AC Moore). When are you arriving at disney?? We will be there from 10/8 to 10/15 and I wish it were longer.

Ordered my tickets for Thurs Oct 19....can't wait! We haven't decided for sure BUT we may go twice...and hit Fri it depends....LOL

So excited!! I am purchasing us tickets tonight for the 26th! We can't figure out what / who we wanna be yet...being a bigger girl, costumes just aren't my thing.

I confess I haven't read all the posts but I have a few questions about MNSSHP. The only day we would be able to go is Sept. 29 and I think I saw where that is the first date. Does that make any difference when getting tickets? I haven't called because I'm still not sure if we want to go. I really want to, but I have several dilemmas. #1 We have reservations at Le Cellier for 5:00 that evening that I am not willing to give up. Would we have time to eat there, go aback to ASMo to get costumed up and get to the MK in time to enjoy everything? #2 My children will be 3 princess: and 19 months  then and I was wondering how late they could manage without being too grumpy. We will be trying to take a nap before dinner so that should help, but we do have to check out of the resort the next morning and have ADR's at CM for breakfast at 9:30. Then we are spending most of the day at MK before leaving when the kids get tired to spend that night with relatives about 45 minutes away. Is this too much activity for small kids? #3 Do parents dress up too? I'm not sure DH would go along with that idea at all. I think that about covers all my questions. Thanks in advance everyone!

Sorry, but Uggg - Le Cellier - MNSSHP is much better :teeth: We went for dinner there and were very disappointed - My husband makes the most awesome steak so nothing compares. I also can't eat Shrimp Scampi at a restaurant for the same reason. Ya wanna nice steak? Cancel those ressies and Eddie'll make ya one!!
But if you really want to eat there, I would call back every day to see if any cancellations pop up.

Oh Yes They Do!! My DH is a macho retired NYPD officer and he got dressed up! (we went as pirates for the POC movie that had come out that summer.)
This year when we go, the question is not, am I dressing up? The question is,
should I bust out that pirate costume and wear it again for POC 2 or should I go as something else?

Listen, you are NEVER Too Cool for Disney -

What Happens In Disney Stays In Disney!

Forgot something! We purchased our tickets in July the last time we went. I didn't purchase them yet but I will plan on doing so in the summer.

We got our tickets in te mail and I can't wait. We are ther on Sep 29. Kids are dressing but I am not. We are eating at Toney's at 4:30.

Just wanted to add that my DD4 was 3 last year when we went and DD2 was 1 1/2. They managed to stay up until about 11:30. We had been in Animal Kingdom all day so they did good to even stay up that late. Somehow I think being at Disney makes you forget you're tired until finally you just "fall out". That's what they did, in the stroller. We looked at them and strolled from Winnie the Pooh to Buzz and they were asleep. This year, we may no do anything the day of MNSSHP. I should add that my kids are used to going to amusement parks and doing activities that interfere with bedtime/naptime though.

we are going the 27th - decided DD9 will dress up - after her appt at Bibbidy Bobbidi Boutique (both the party and boutique are surprises)...we won't dress up 'cause we cruise on the Magic the next day and it will be enough just to get DD together that night - we fly in that day.... and we will be dressing up on the cruise at least for Pirate night, if not Halloween!!! This is our first MNSSHP - and we are excited!!!! :bounce: :yay: :cheer2:

Sorry if this has been asked before, but it's too many pages for me to read right now.

Any counter service places open during MNSSHP?

If you wait to buy your ticket till
you get there, do you get it at the gate of MK?

I was wondering the same thing too. Although we have Crystal Palace adrs for Oct 12th (MNSSHP right after) I am sure that my husband and brother will still be hungry later on in the evening. Hopefully someone here will know and post a list.

My MNSSHP guide map from last year shows: Casey's, Plaza Ice Cream, Main Street Bakery, Pecos Bill's, Westward Ho, Frontierland Turkey Legs, Sleepy Hollow, Mrs. Potts' Cupboard, Cosmic Ray's, Lunching Pad, Auntie Gravity's...as the CS open.

Thats a pretty good size list. My hubby will love the fact that the Friontierland Turkey Legs will be open. That is one of his favorites things at Disney.---go figure!!! I really like Caseys Corner too!!! Has anyone ever eaten at the Crystal Palace for dinner??? We have only done breakfast there which we love but were wondering how their dinner service/food choices were???
