MMRR, getting a BG and park opening

So people got to park 3hrs before open to ride MMRR with no wait time . What was wait time at open? I'm guessing less then 3hrs.
Same thing with FOP people saying they waited only 20min at Park opening. But if you got to park 1hr earlier its really a 80min wait time for first ride

I'm guessing the majority of the people are still getting there early to try and get a ROTR boarding group and MMRR is the stand-by bonus. But I do like your breakdown on the time, so true. With Fantasmic running almost every night, isn't it easier to let Fantasmic pull the crowds from the park and get in line right before closing for a shorter wait time than getting there early in the am? If MMRR is your goal. And if the timing fits right, I know not all families with really young ones can stay that late.

It has been stated on other threads. That the line for MMRR has been closed off well before closing so do not wait until last minute cause they are trying to control the line and not have a massive post close wait not to mention those people may be standing directly in front of the Star Wars show when it starts.

Thats true. But I would rather use the wait time to get in the park, on and off the ride early and have more time in the park for other rides, etc, instead of waiting 2 hours in line for 1 ride.

I'm going to say that 55% will be there for MMRR and 45% will be for MFSR, Slinky, and other rides.

There’s no reason to show up before 6am to get a boarding pass. If that’s all you want, you can tap in at 7:55am. The people showing up at 6am are doing it to rope drop a headliner.

A cast member (yeah, I know) told us MMRR could not run during Star Wars fireworks so it would always close by 9. .

Just thought I’d share from our experience Thursday. If you rope drop MMRR and are still in line when your boarding group is called, you don’t have to leave the line even if staying puts you past your return time. We double checked with a regular CM and a manager while we were a little over halfway into a 120 minute wait, and they both said stay. Our return time for boarding group 10 for RotR was by 9:14am and we didn’t get there until about 9:35am and tapped in no questions asked. The manager at MMRR said they know some people will be in line for other things so 20-30 minutes late is no problem, it’s when you show up 5 hours late that it’s a problem.

They were all open. So yes, it was a crapshoot when rope drop occurred. And of course the person who was first in our line didn’t know how to use her magic band.
But it all ended well!

We rope dropped MMRR this morning. We were in and in line around about 7:40. The line was already very long. We wound up getting on the ride around 9. All other headliners had a much shorter wait while we were waiting in line. I tend to think rope dropping isn’t the way to go for this unless you are arriving to the park much earlier and can be near the front of the line. It’s the first ride you see so many people queue up for it. We got boarding group 81 for RotR. Lots of people around us were cheering before we got our boarding group.

Even so, that’s not a terrible wait. I was wondering how long you’d be in line if you were there closer to opening time.

If you rope drop MMRR you will still be behind I think bc by the time you get out everything else has tremendous wait times. I thing rope dropping other rides is the way to go.
We waited around 3pm for 90 min one afternoon for MMRR. Best wait time of the day. It doesn’t drop lower as the night goes on like MFSR.

it’s so hard right now at HS. Can’t adjust fast passes.Everything is so crowded bc people are all trying to kill time waiting for their BG to be called.

we have spent 3 afternoons (and 2 mornings for BG) here with fast passes avoiding lines just to get the tier 1 attractions in. I can’t imagine what Easter week will look like!

thanks for the insight. Was it an 8 am opening?
We go in April, and it seems like you want to be there by 6:30 to be toward the front of the line for RD, and hope you are not on the ride when the park opens for BG for RoTR.
