MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

I don't have any candy cravings either! It's really neat! We are so blessed! :goodvibes

Hi Honeygram!!! Nice to meet you!!!

Pony, It is so cool that Ken is getting up to call you! I am so happy for you!

I come from a long line of Kitchen people too! That's why I'm so excited to get this table. We had a little one with stiff chairs. Because I have such a large derrière I feel as though I'm a bird perching on them! :lmao: These new chairs are going to be nice and huggy! It's going to be so nice going onto step two and having such a nice table to set and sit down to. I feel very grateful.
:)

Hey, Robin, What I understand the Step 2 rules to be, a bedtime 11-20 is an absolute - within an hour of going to sleep. If you are adding one before the workout because of what kind of workout it is, that is like a sub-rule, but the bedtime one is one of the top 3 rules. Do you want to check with Diane? :confused3 Have a great call with Ken!:chat:

:welcome:to Honeygram!

Nell: I'm so excited for your new table and chairs! You will have such a great time with the family at Thanksgiving. What a nice lady to bless you with lillies. You will remember her whenever they bloom and someday you can bless someone else with a bulb. I love that!:flower3:

Thanks for that reminder Lisa! I'm going to re-read the part about rules to thrive by. It's going to be a few days until I go shopping, so I'm planning on brushing up on step two. I can't wait! I feel pretty confident because of those of you that have gone before me. Thank you all for being here! :grouphug:

Hey Lisa, how are you tonight? Is Tom home with you?

Well guys, I believe I will call it a night. Getting a little tired LOL. But what a great day!!
I will be praying for everyone, including all prayer requests not asked.
Have a great night everyone, and sweet dreams. And yes, God has blessed me. With all of you.
I love you all, and so grateful for each of you!!

Sweet Dreams Kathy! :grouphug:

Well,
If we have to add 10 days that is not a big deal, I was worried I would have to start all over and in wk 5 of step 1 that would be tragic:sad1::sad1:

Now here is my question the serving on this is 6 slices for 2 carbs, could we have 3 for 1 carb and not count as 5x5 and if so how long between the servings could we have ... I know that this isn't as healthy as eating "forman"chicken, but my DH loves this and if it is the only way to get him to stick with this I need to find out what to do on this :headache: He has a long way to go (like I don't):guilty: But we can do this I know we can. :cheer2:

Where is the christmas list?? someone mentioned they needed my address or something and I need all of yours too!!:grouphug:

He'll be home soon. We have another contractor assessing the roof situation at his Mom's old house. Yuck. You are sweet to ask. Bonnie is here waiting for him, but keeping me company. Diane had the Step 2 rules clearly on her blog not too long ago. I would go there and scan for it if I wanted to brush up because it was very succinct.

Yes, 1 carb is a freebie. I don't know how long between you would need to wait. Maybe 2 hours? Anyone else know? I'm so glad your DH is doing this with you! That's awesome. 10 days gives you a detox from mistakes so you don't have to start over - no way!

How is everyone doing tonight? I finally have a few minutes to sit and catch up - thankfully I stumbled onto part deux..

This is about week 3 for me on step 2. I had a rough start but I think I am in my groove.

Here is a sample of what I had today for food:

B - 8am lc tortilla w/ ricotta, splenda and cinnamon - 1/2 small banana (11-20) hot tea w/ splenda

s - 11am turkey pepperoni w/ lf cheddar chunks

L - 12:30pm - 2 sl ww bread (11-20) w/ low salt ham and low fat mozzy w/ light mayo and a salad with balsamic vinegar.

S - 3:30pm celery w/ nat pb and 1/2 small banana (11-20)

D - 6:30pm sausage w/ home made sauce, steamed broccoli and cauliflower and 2 slices of 5 carb garlic bread. *11-20 blend of bread and sauce*

S - 9:30pm Carb smart ice cream bar (11-20)

water - 70 ozs.

How's that look? :thumbsup2

Got my bloodwork back - everything looks GREAT!!! Lipids, sugar level etc. right where they need to be. MM Rocks!!! :yay: :cool2:

Still waiting on hearing from Zumba mama and other Florida MMers on scheduling a lunch/brunch date....Daniele, I have no problem driving to the west coast....we'll see!

Sunnee :littleangel:

Nell, I wonder if everyone has Excel on their computers? I was thinking of making an Excel sheet and adding our phone numbers and email addresses. Then we can update the one document whenever we add someone or they move, etc. If anyone cannot open Excel, will you let me know?:surfweb:

That's good that he'll be home soon. I keep forgetting that your so much earlier than me. :) We are talking about getting Budakka one of those ball pitcher's that Bonnie has. Or one of the kids ones that we can let her use. I bet she'd love it!

I'm going to scan Diane's blog and go over the step two info there also. Thanks!

That would be really neat Lisa! Do you have the time to do it? I can open excel. And if someone doesn't have Microsoft office, then it's easy enough to copy and paste an email for them.

I wish Buddy and Bonnie could play together and save us a lot of money! Bonnie loves other dogs. She is so cute and expressive. I'm really glad to have her company, even if she does wear me out!

Well DARN, all the circuits to the UK are showing busy signals...he tried through the operator and she said they have put in a trouble ticket...so he Im'd instead! He is going to try again before I go to work in the morning...Oh well, talking to him online was better than nothing at all!

Lisa - I did message Diane to be sure...I just figured if I had ANOTHER 11-20 before bed, then again at 3:30am, that would be ALOT of 11-20's in a day! I remember from my past step 2 start that I felt so full just having the 5 a day! Im also going to go re-read the blog and the book again too. Dont want to mess the re-start up right from the get go!!

Welcome Honeygram! We are so glad you and Melanie are here with us!

Nell - how much sweetener and cinnamon do you put in your oatmeal? I assume it is probably 1/2 cup oatmeal that is legal for step 2? I could definitely stomach it with that in it, plus maybe a few pecans or walnuts once in awhile.

Sunnee - How about sending me your e-mail address again? The one you gave us for yahoo wont go through, so maybe I wrote it down wrong!! And send Nell your home address for our Christmas card list!! I dont want to comment on your menu, since I am still not quite sure of my own! But Im sure Lisa and Barb can check it out.

Melanie - I would try to stay away from the nitrates too...maybe if DH is hooked on what you have you could get it for him and have something else for yourself? I know it is a pain to have to prepare all this different stuff, but I always decided to play it safe!!

Tom gets married in 4 days!!

I'm so sorry Pony. You must be disappointed. I'm glad you'll get to talk to Ken in the morning.

I don't measure the oatmeal mix, I just throw it together. When I used to use packets, I used two of them, but I was much more of a sweet tooth then. I liberally sprinkle cinnamon and then mix it in. Probably the first time bring the sweetener and the Cinnamon to the table, then you can adjust as needed!

We met some really nice people today. :) It was cool. I had been looking in craigslist for a dining table that everyone can fit at for Thanksgiving. We found a nice set, it's the kind with the chairs on wheels and it has a leaf in it to make it long. The nicest thing was the people. They were really sweet. The couple had made a beautiful garden in the back with a pergola covered with thick vines. After talking for a bit the wife brought me back to show me. They had a pretty golden retriever. And they are going to bring the table to us next week because he has a van he can drive. He's not well, so we'll have to unload it, but it's a big help. She gave me enourmous lilly bulbs too. They are the size of a turnip. I have no idea what kind of lillies come out of bulbs like that, but I think I'm going to be finding out one of these days! :rotfl: I got them all in the ground beside the carport, in the rain of course. Doesn't that always happen when your trying to plant something? It was lovely to meet nice people.

Nell, how wonderful that you met such nice people. You must be so excited to have some new furniture for the holidays. Now you have something more to decorate! :woohoo:

It really helps to look at the sample menus that Diane gives in the book to figure out the timing. I left my book at work but I think you can have the 3 slices as a freebie if it's 2 1/2 or 3 hours after a 5x5. It would be the same as a 1 carb Atkins shake as a snack between meals as a freebie. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? JMHO.
