Has anyone stayed in the world over this weekend? I'm tentatively thinking of going down late thur and leaving early monday, Jan 19th.

Are the historically good discounts this weekend? Is it very crowded?

Thanks in advance.

We found the actual weekend incredibly crowded in '02, and we won't go back that weekend. The week before nad after was fine. When kids went into the pool, they were "swallowed" up..couldn't even find them. Scary..and I'm sure the lifeguards had a hard time of it. Parks were crowded enough that we came back to swim..along with a zillion other people.

We have a trip planned for 1/22 - 2/2/04. We have gone down the first week or so of Jan before & LOVED the lack of crowds. Are these crowds just on this 3day weekend? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We were there two years ago. We arrived the week before the 3 day holiday weekend. Monday thru Thursday were great. No crowds at all. Friday, Sat. and Sunday were horrible. We left for home that Sunday afternoon.

Wow...I guess this weekend is out then. I had no idea the crowds were so bad.

We have been that weekend and it was unbelievably crowded. I think the locals go on long weekends. That said, we are going in 2004 but only because our DD's honors chorus is performing in MK Saturday.

:D

We went down on the Sunday of MLK weekend 2 years ago and are going again next year. It was not as crowded as times I have been in June or July but there was a noticable drop in crowds on Tuesday.

I had noticed that there were a lot of kids groups there - sports of some sort as they were all wearing the same shirts - so maybe it is a weekend for events at Wide World of Sports. Not sure but it wasn't unbearable - just have to plan accordingly.

We were at WDW in Jan 2003 for a visit spanning both the marathon and MLK weekends. MLK weekend was by far the most crowded time of our visit. Hope this helps.

We go every year - 4th time in 1/2004 during the week of MLK. We drive on Sunday and go Monday - Friday. Most, not all, but most people leave on Sunday or mid-Monday. Then there is really no one there.

The weather is always good and it makes dining reservations really easy!

See you there - Diane

We have been at WDW the last two MLK weekends (Friday thru Monday). IMHO it has not been bad at all. We never had any long waits plus we also used Fast Pass. We will be going down again for MLK weekend 2004.

We will be going down on Jan. 9-18. Can anyone tell me if we'll be able to swim? I know pools are heated, but is it unbearably cold when you get out? Are the parks great and how do you dress...pants in the morning and change in the afternoon?

Be prepared for anything. This past MLK weekend was very cold. We hardly took off jackets all day. That being said, the year before we wore shorts, jeans, and t-shirts. Highs near 80.

We went on our honeymoon starting on MLK day (we took the red eye on Sunday night and were finally at Disney around 2-3 PM). I don't recall Epcot being crowded at all- this was in 1995 though. The rest of the parks were empty all week, except for our last day which was a Saturday and we went to the MK. But I guess it's always crowded on a Saturday there. I think the warmest it got was around 70-72. Some days we wore shorts and a long sleeved top, and some days we wore jeans and sweatshirts. I think only once did we go swimming.
