MK Touring Plan Help???

So, June 22nd, Sunday. Wondering if the best plan is to head to SDMT, or head elsewhere and try to FP this ride.

Was thinking SDMT, Peter Pan, BTMRR, Splash and POTC in that order. BUT perhaps it would be better to just head to BTMR/Splash first thing and get a FP for Mine Train, Space and something else later in the day/evening?

Thoughts? I need to get my FPs tomorrow.

I would go with the second option, though I don't see much wrong with the first one. Are you arriving at rope drop? It's certainly worth using a FP for 7DMT and Space Mountain. You could ride the others first thing and then go back to the Mine Train, Space and PP with FP later on.

Yes, definitely rope drop. Some times those brand new things get everyone's attention, I was thinking that might mean low lines elsewhere. Kind of the "Go against the normal thinking pattern" approach.

The plan looks good. If you get there at rope drop hopefully you can do mine train with little wait but you should try to get a FP after 11am for mine train. That way if the wait is long you can go to plan B and come back for the mine train FP. If it works out and you get to ride it first thing then you could change the FP to something else or even ride it twice.

Okay, here is the scoop that I have planned so far after the posts above.

Pan, maybe no and maybe straight to Adventureland if that is the name.
BTMRR
Splash
POTC
Whatever else we want prior to our break. We head back to hotel for mid day nap, lunch, pool. Today with 1am park hours we will likely eat an early dinner at the hotel as well.

Back around 6:30-700
FP+ for Splash 715-815
Electric Parade 900 How long after parade is Wishes? Ice cream?
Wishes 10
FP+ Space 10-11
FP+ 7DMT 11-12

I know using the FP+ in the evening like this isn't ideal, and I could possibly get something for 11, just don't know what also trying to save on the walking, staying on the left side of the park in the morning.

Thoughts?
Should make for a nice evening, right?

Looks like a very nice evening by my reckoning. I do rope drop out of necessity/strategy, but I am a late night person. You have a nice line up for the evening and with break in the day, you should be rested and refreshed enough to really enjoy it.

What I might do if I were you is aim to arrive at the park for 6.30 and shift that Splash Mountain FP slightly earlier if possible. You can watch the parade from Frontierland so that would be easy but the walkways get very crowded and they start roping them off to channel traffic in advance of the parade and you really need to head in the direction of Main Street for a view of the fireworks. There is also the castle projection show prior to that. Splash Mountain is a fairly long ride and if you add in a concessionary 15 minutes just in case the FP line is backed up a little, you can expect to give up a total of up to 30 minutes from entering the line to getting out. For that reason, even if you can't change the time a bit earlier, I would recommend riding it immediately when you return to the park to give you maximum time to find a viewing spot for the Parade and then just stay there for wishes. If you are able to get a place on Main Street near the Plaza ice cream shop, someone in your party could dash in there between MSEP and Wishes to get you icecream or you could just grab them from a cart on the way from Splash Mountain. My choice would be a dole whip float from Aloha Isle on the way through to Main Street. It's easier to walk with because it's in a cup and you can sit and enjoy it while you wait for the parade.

I'm sure you know, just making sure, but that is an evening EMH. So the 1am is extended to 3am for resort guests. In general, the park during regular hours will probably be busier. We like EMH's at least once or twice on our trip but personally, we try to avoid the park that has them during regular hours (does that make sense?) So we would go to a morning EMH and enjoy that first hour, plus another hour or so and then leave for a different park. For evening, we probably wouldn't even show up until around 11pm for hours that late. But if you're definitely planning an afternoon break out of the park, that's a good strategy

Good tip on Splash and the FP. I will see if I can move that up. My main problem with planning is I know the distances for DL from Splash to Main Street and such, but have to remember I have no idea the size of this place. I heard twice as far, but what that really means ..


Also, I know it is EMH, and I don't stay on site, but thought the 1am touring would still be nicer, can't see all the kiddies staying up that late, than a normal 11pm closing night. No? The other parks we chose weren't on EMH days, but decided to give this one a go due to the normal hours being extended. The crowd level possibility is the reason I kept those FPs for the late times, so we could at least do those. If the lines are manageable we will do even more, right? My only concern is what it will be like from 11-12ish when we leave, will we do anything?

Be Our Guest FP for lunch at 11:55am
FP+ for Space Mt at 1:35pm, followed by CoP
FP+ for Splash Mt at 2:45pm, followed by PotC
FP+ for 7DMT at 3:45pm
Leave park for afternoon/dinner
Back at park just before Wishes
Skip Wishes and ride rides during the fireworks
Spend final hour in Fantasyland riding Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, etc.
Close the park at midnight

I haven't been to DL so I can't help you with the comparison either. You could run a search on youtube for Magic Kingdom Walkthrough. There are some really good ones on there and it will give you an idea.

We are going to be there the same night as you. We aren't going to be there in the morning that day as we have other plans but we are arriving early evening just like you and have our FP's lined up not too differently, except that we are doing the fireworks and parade another night. I think with your 3 certain rides with FP and the fireworks and parade guaranteed, you are hitting at least 5 good things, plus what you get done in the morning. Is there anything else that is a must do for that evening? I would try get as much done as possible in the morning by arriving early so that you don't have any pressure on for that night. You have a nice little line up of things IMO and although rides may not be walk on, there are the shows to enjoy as well and the later it gets, the more people leave. Once the fireworks are over a huge crowd exits the park and you feel the difference quite quickly. Then there us a second parade that night and even more people leave after that.

Just FYI- during the night parade, DD and DH could have ridden BTMRR and Splash repeatedly with no wait. But, as a PP said, they start roping things off and you kind of get stuck back in that area and it's hard to get out.
