I think Obama could go somewhere else to make a political speech and not cause grief for vacationers at Magic Kingdom..... but I'm sure Disney is happy about it -- it's some "free" advertising and publicity.

As mentioned, you can bet it will be live on all of the major cable news nets. If you don't have cable, you should be able to see highlights both online and on your evening news.

Regardless of politics, I think it's great to see a sitting president speak in front of the castle -- it's something I can't recall ever seeing before.

Up this point, these are probably the most famous presidential remarks made at Disney World -- even if most people don't realize they were made at Disney World.

The president (any president..not just the current one) would cause grief for vacationers ANYWHERE they went to make a speech. Why should WDW be exempt if their willing to have him and he's willing to go there? Seems like it makes sense for him to give a speech about boosting tourism in the #1 tourist destination in the country.

I hate to say it, but the reason he is there is purely political. Not to mention, he is a politician. Anytime a politician is mentioned it IS political. So, in order to keep the "political crap" somewhere else, then NO politician should be talked about on these boards. Ever. End of story.

Sorry, but "what channel is the speech on" doesn't require a snarky political response, nor do those responses require someone rushing to applaud their lack of self-control.

Well, this is at least the third thread I have seen on this subject alone. Snarky has been flying in both directions. However, only one direction is being smacked down. As usual. Again, in order to completely avoid that, please see comment #16 in this thread.

It's even easier to avoid than that -- if you can't control yourself, simply don't post. Doesn't matter how many threads there are, or who issues snark. It's not a license to jump in.
