We are arriving in Orlando very late on Wednesday, March 8th (actually Thursday morning about 1:00am). We're not planning a park day for Thursday, so currently the plan is to go to Epcot on Friday and MK on Saturday. Is MK going to be a zoo on that day??? We've always gone to Epcot on our first day, but it's more out of habit than tradition. Should I switch those days and go to MK on Friday and Epcot on Saturday???
TIA!!

Nope, you've got the right idea about which park to visit on which day. MK will be 'slower' (not slow, but slower) on Saturday, Epcot is slow on Friday.

I can't give you any idea what it will be like on Friday or if you should switch, all I can tell you is that we were there this last Saturday and it was HORRIBLE. The only one out of the parks that had unbearable lines. (The parade was also being filmed - dont know how much that had to do with it) But next time MK will be on a weekday for us!!!!!

Okay...I went ahead and made additional ADRs for Crystal Palace on Friday in addition to my Saturday one (can you believe they still had 8:05 available???) and Le Cellier on Saturday in addition to Friday. Anymore suggestions??? I'll wait to cancel one or the other until we decide for sure.

I was there on a Sat last April, and Sat, Dec 3 in the evening as we just wanted to see Spectro/Wishes. It was a ZOO both times. I mean REALLY REALLY REALLY packed. As another poster said, 12/3 was part of the parade filming, but I also think it had to do w/ all the MVMCPs and there only being a few nights when Spectro/Wishes was shown. If it's only shown a couple of times, or heaven forbid, on Sat only....then DO NOT do MK that day. Do another park and hop over in the evening for Wishes/Spectro. You'll be glad you did!

Magic Kingdom on Friday
Epcot on Saturday

If you do it the other way around you'll be in the "line from hell" on all of the big rides at MK. You have to figure eveyone will be flying in on friday and attending MK on saturday. This is the reason i never go during the busy season. It's always when the kids are in school or a week before the kids are released for Christmas break.

On Saturday, you'll find most new arrivals heading for the obvious destination, MK. It's only natural to go to MK right away, especially for first-timers. I would do MK Friday and Epcot Saturday.

I think its a question of the lesser of two evils. If memory serves MK has EMH morning on Friday but we're just back and as another post mentioned Satuday night was a zoo!. Don't know about during the day but I think this time of year a lot of people are going for the weekend so they won't get there til Fri and then hit MK on Saturday since its open late. UG crowd update for our weekend had 4,7,4 for Fri, Sat, Sun. The only reason we went Sat nite was because it was the only time while we were there to catch Spectro and Wishes. While Fri does have MK EMH, defying conventional wisdom, we did go to AK about mid-morning Saturday when it has EMH and it wasn't bad at all (I wouldn't try that in the summer tho)......

Actually I think MK will be much better on Friday....no more EMH on Friday mornings next year. Saturday WILL be packed.
