I am coordinating a family cruise in Dec. Tonight, my husbands cousin looked at her documents and found that they had put her family of four in a cat 10. The brochure says that cat 10 can only have three in a stateroom. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so how did they remedy the situation? The room # is 7503.

Our family of four has stayed in a catagory 10. There are murphy beds that pull down from the wall. You may want to double check anyways. I could always be wrong :)

Category 10 is "Deluxe Inside Stateroom, Sleeps 3, some sleep 4."

DCL's computers will not allow more people to be booked into a stateroom than the maximum sleeping capacity of that stateroom.

Thare's no mistake, so there's nothing to remedy.

We stayed in 7003 which is the equivalent stateroom on the port side. It definitely held 4 (even tho we were only 3 - go figure!). We didn't realise it had the pull down from the ceiling bed until our stateroom host asked DD if she preferred to sleep on the bottom bunk or the top!

I've stayed in a category 10 as a family of four, and so has my sister.
The room has the queen bed, a sleeper sofa, and a pull down berth. Plenty of space for a family of 4 to sleep.

To all of you for the responses. I feel better now. When I looked at the categories with room descriptions, it had 8,9, and 10 lumped together and said that 8 +9's slept three and some four, but that 10's only slept four. It was a little nervewracking. They will be fine with a pull-down berth and a sleeper.

I've had 2 and 3 in a cat. 10. Both rooms slept 4. The sofa and the berth from the ceiling form something resembling bunk beds when they are set up for the night.

Not at all! We have been in 7010 & 7503 so far. We have 7504 booked for our next cruise. That is a fantastic location...very quiet with no hall traffic. :) There is alot of storage in the 10s too, more than the others because it has a double steamer trunk. We changed our cruise dates & the week before was 300 lower for the cat 10 so we just upgraded ourselves to the 8 to be closer to friends we are cruising with. When we look for a cruise date we check availability of 10s on deck 7 and go from there.

Great information, thanks again! Their family is the only one who isn't in a cat 6, so I was nervous for them. I feel much better now!!
