Minnie's Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine

We have one extra dining credit left that I now have to figure out how we'll use it, which isn't going to be easy given how everything is booked up. I'm hoping that as we get closer to the day that something might open up.

I've heard iffy things about Hollywood and Vine but for some reason, I really wanted to try this out lol.

We had two pretty awful meals at H&V dinner 5-6 years ago and we haven't returned so wanting to go to Minnie's is pretty funny to me, But I have read there have been big improvements so I am willing to give it another go. I am a sucker for anything holiday though, this seemed like a good way to exit our vacation and enter the official holiday season!

I agree, we've had 2 terrible dining experiences at H&V (one regular dinner, one Star Wars dinner) and vowed we would never eat there again. Then this came out, and I went and booked it o_O I broke the news to my DH, who surprised me and didn't revolt and try to make me change it. But I am also a complete sucker for both Holiday themed events and any themed event Disney puts out, so this was too hard for me to pass on when we had a trip planned during the holidays anyway. I fully admit I am going for the experience and not the food. If it's anything like the horribly executed Star Wars dinner (we went early the first year they had it, so maybe it got better) it will take a long time and I won't get to eat much of anything because I won't have time to go to the buffet due to how the characters come, and then skip our table every time 8-) I don't care about getting stuffed anyway, I have the Merry and Bright Dessert party scheduled for the same evening and that's way more than we would typically eat in one evening anyway. I'm just throwing money at Disney that evening for the experiences!!:rotfl2:

I will say, we did the SWW meal this past May, and was pleasantly surprised by the food. I've heard they have a new chef, and it showed.

that explains why i couldn't get any ADRs for h&v for our trip booked dec 15-23. i was especially surprised since reviews tend to be universally *bad* for that restaurant (which i don't get, we had a *great* buffet there last dec). wondering if there is a change at sci-fi drive in theatre as that is the other one i couldn't get any availability either....

I am not going for the food. I am going for the experience. I have been to H & V and although it is not fine dining, there are enough choices to find something everyone likes.

They are adding breakfast at Sci Fi starting in November but no changes to lunch and dinner.

I booked Minnie's and merry and bright for the same night too. I'm a little worried because our H&V is at 5:45 and it says to be at merry and bright at 6:45. Im new to all of this....any suggestions?

If you must do them on the same night, skip dessert at dinner! You can come to the party any time until the 8:30 ending, so don't need to check in right away, either. I believe you can pick up your credentials any time after 6, with desserts beginning at 7. I plan to walk the lights first, then grab a seat and some desserts and just enjoy the show!

We're going Dec 27th, so the party is at 8:30. Our ADR is 4:30, so it worked out great. Unfortunately our H&V is fantastic, which I don't think we'll be able to use, but oh well...

I booked the party for the first night. I'm still debating keeping it, it's a lot of money and I'm not sure we will eat a lot of desserts. Did anyone do the frozen party last year? How was it?

I feel the same way......i justified it with the blankets and drinks....but I really don't care for mix drinks, so I'm still on the fence. Especially bc we have H&V at 5:45 and will not be hungry at 7:00. Idk. If they end up putting a dessert party out for mvmcp dates I think I will switch and do that. Anyone do both of them before? Which is better?
Any idea what the blanket will look like?

I was on the fence over this one. I'm really doing it just because it's the last year for the lights. I think they way over-priced the Frozen one last year in comparison to the Summer time one where you get the Parade viewing during the day & Fireworks viewing at night. I think this one is a more reasonable (for Disney) price but wish there was something else connected to it other than just watching the Lights. That's easy enough to do just walking around yourself. At least they will be giving us a keepsake in the blanket. I have the dinner booked but I'll probably be releasing it since it would be too close to the dessert party. I'll just do the dinner another night while I'm there. As far s the MVMCP Dessert Party possibility, I wouldn't waste party time doing that one. You spend enough money just for the party. You can hardly see the Parade from Tomorrowland Terrace and there are much better places to watch the MK fireworks from IMO.

Anyone whose looking for November 7th, go now. I was just able to book a 5 pm, I just looked again and a 4:55 popped up as well.

I just double checked, I was able to find tables for 2, 4 and 6. Times ranging from 4:25 to 4:55. It looks like a bunch of space just opened up. I really hope this helps someone.

My DS and I stared tensely at Woody before he decided to spit out a confirmation number finally and then we danced and screamed around the family room. :)

Thanks xStitch! I hope others looking are lucky tonight too!

Stuff might open up. I swear Disney was holding back as there's no way this many people cancelled at the same time. I'm seeing times from 4:25 to 5:15 and it's changing each time I search and can go up to 6 people. I've seen other people mention adrs popping up on other days so fingers crossed something will open up for you.

You're welcome :) I couldn't contain my excitement when I saw all these openings and wanted to spread the pixie dust.

They were definitely holding back. I am wondering if they have a firmer head count for bloggers and VIPs attending that night and could now release the extras. :)

Hopeful that it will go day by day like this! Maybe the 8th will open up tomorrow and so on!! I will be checking daily for the 10th!!
Could someone please answer this.....if fantasmic starts at 7:00 will we have time to see the Osborne fam lights before closing at 8:30? Why do they close so early?!
