Minnesotans Celebration Cruise - Day 4

January 3, 2004

The day again started bright and early but this time we had even more motivation than usual to get up and going. Our wonderful Dreams Unlimited travel agent managed to get us seats at Cinderella’s Royal Breakfast! We quickly got ready, making sure we had plenty of film and flash cards then boarded the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We walked right up to the castle and into breakfast without a wait. Once up stairs we were seated at a window table overlooking Fantasyland, it was spectacular!

Our wait staff was very nice in explaining the 2 choices we had, one being a traditional breakfast (Sausage, eggs, stuffed French toast, various breads) and a lighter breakfast I think is what they called it (yogurt, fruit, breads, and I think the main part was pancakes) Both Sara and I got the Traditional Breakfast since we love stuffed French toast.

While we were eating we met Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, and Belle, getting pictures and autographs of all. We also took a full 360-degree panoramic picture of the dining room and view out the windows we were seated by. Once finished eating we began to leave only to find the Fairy Godmother near the door, so we stood in a relatively short line and got her picture and autograph too. The castle was also still decorated a bit for Christmas, which was a beautiful thing to see.

Since we were in Fantasyland when we finished eating we did all the rides there and most of Adventureland before we decided to hop back over to MGM Studios since we had hardly done anything there. We took the monorail to Epcot and then caught a friendship from there to MGM. Probably a strange way to go but we really don’t like the busses much.

In MGM studios we went to Rockin’ Rollercoaster first and rode that while we waited for our fast passes for Tower of Terror. Then after those two were finished we went to Muppets 3-D, Star Tours, and then had lunch at Pizza Planet. This along with The Land in Epcot are becoming tradition for us while in WDW, we eat at both places at least once every trip.

By the time we finished lunch we realized we had to leave for Epcot to make our PS arrangements for the Ice Cream Social. We figured we were probably going to be late but we would go and see what would happen. At least this was our least expensive PS arrangement if we had missed it. We arrived about 15 minutes after our time but they let us in anyway. This was our first experience with eating at the Garden Grille and we liked it a lot. We also got to meet Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Pluto while having our ice cream. It taseted even better seeing as it was 85 degrees outside and we had ran most of the way from the world showcase to the land.

Following that we finally rode Spaceship Earth. If any one has read my previous years trip reports Sara and I usually do that first thing in Epcot, but not this year, it was almost the last thing we did. This time with the digital Cameras we got some good pictures of the scenes.

Once we got through Spaceship Earth we went back to the World Showcase and rode the Malestrom, and Rio Del Tiempo. We had planned to start in Norway and move back to Future world to ride Test Track as our last ride in WDW but once we got to Future World, Test Track had broken down for the remainder of the night. A little bummed we took the monorail back to Magic Kingdom. On the way thought we had something happen that has never happened to us before. While in the Station at the contemporary the entire Monorail line lost power for about 5 minutes or so. We could see another train stuck between the magic Kingdom and the contemporary and it didn’t have lights on either. It was a very bizarre experience. Once we made it to the Magic Kingdom we parked ourselves at the corner of Main Street and the hub in front of the castle and hour before the electric light parade.

By the time we finished with the parade our behinds were really sore from sitting there for an hour and a half but we held our spots steadfast for the new night fireworks show, Wishes. As many people around us were standing for that show we did as well and to help get circulation back to our feet. Again we got some really nice pictures with the digitals. The show was really cool too. I loved the old one but this was even better, and this time Sara and I managed to finally get pictures of Tinkerbelle starting it all.

Following the Wishes show while most people were herding out we went into Tommorrowland and rode Buzz Lightyear, then crosses over to Fantasyland for Aladdin which we had missed before, then to Frontireland for the two mountains, Splash and big Thunder, then back to Tomorrowland to get in line for Space Mountain before the line closed and then ended our trek that day with some final shopping on Main street.

We then took the Monorail back to the Poly and attempted to get all of our belongings in a reasonable amount of bags to transfer to the ship and finally went to bed. It was our last night in WDW.

I'm glad you had such great weather! Were you able to retain any of the warmth to get through our winter?!?!
