Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

"Trent's problem is that he thinks girls are too possessive and jealous. If they get at all like that, doesn't like it, but I tried to tell him that it's sort of normal for girls to feel like that when they like you. Who knows what his future holds? He is his own man, that's for sure. He is highly opinionated and can be really stubborn and annoying, but he can be such a tender, thoughful, caring sweetheart, too. Right now, he is trying to save up a good down payment on a house so that he doesn't waste money on an apartment. I think that is a very smart move. He has a good head on his shoulders, and he is a hard, hard worker. Everyone everywhere he has ever worked has said that, so that's a great quality. He's just got to decide if he wants to be 'possessed' by a girl or not.:)"
I think Sarah is the female version of Trent! But, Sarah feels guys are too jealous and girls are petty and immature for getting jealous!:) We may never get these two married off and get us grandbabies! Sarah is also a very hard worker and very independant! Stubborn and opinionated have been used to describe her also. But, so has caring, thoughtful and kind. Wouldn't they be a match?:rotfl:

Loved all the updates and can't wait to see you at Pop or wherever you might run into us. I hope to run into you at Pop. I'll text you Saturday where they put us. Gotta go Ty is sick and his Mom has class tonight so I'm on Ty duty. I already miss him and I haven't left yet. (I think I feel a little guilty for leaving Ty at home while I go to Disney.):guilty:

I want to try one of those strawberries! Everything looks so good!! Now I want caramel for breakfast.

Have a good day at school! :goodvibes

The strawberry was delicious. :)

It was another busy, busy day, but pretty drama-free as far as the kids went.

My cottage cheese for breakfast is just not cutting it anymore. All of those goodies look so delicious, I don't know what I would choose!

I like cottage cheese and pears. As a matter of fact, right now that is sounding pretty good. I have the pears, but no cottage cheese.

Happy Tuesday MeMom! I hope you have a wonderful day, knowing you're one step closer to that happy place!!:yay:

I've never been less prepared for a trip!

Oh my gosh I love all the caramel things!! I could buy one of each & every thing in that place. Hopefully 16 more days & I will be buying something there.

If you plan to buy one of everything, you better have a big purse! It's good stuff, but it's not exactly cheap. It's not horrible, but not cheap. ;)

I think I gained 5 pounds just by looking at those pictures... Mmmmm.... Yummy!!! :cloud9:

I can only eat a little bit of sweet stuff in one sitting. I'm a nibbler, so I gain my pounds ounce by ounce - slowly and steadily.

This place is going pretty close to the top of my list :goodvibes

What - you have no loyalty to Glas und Porzellan???
This place smells a lot better, for sure.

Hi all! I finally got caught up on here!
I'm caught up at work & home...so I can have some DIS time.

Our trip was wonderful, magical and so much fun....except for the getting sick part and spending 2 1/2 days in the room but let's forget about that.

The 4oth at MK was great! I was so happy to be there. Not even the cold/flu could keep me away. Thank God, for the medicine at POP my DMom picked up for me.
It was a very smart move on my part to book a bkfst at CP that morning.
We just blew by the huge crowd at the gates waiting to get in.
I tried the Puffed French Toast and it was delish. We will have to have a do over because I really didn't eat very much.
I had my first ever DISmeet with Sunnystace that day...it was lovely chatting with her and her BFF Lauren before our Plaza dinners.
Which by the way is a very cute little spot to get a yummy bite to eat in MK!

I will deffinitely be there for the 50th with you all! Can't wait! :cool1:

We really enjoyed the MNSSHP too!
It was crowded and we didn't get everyone's autographs but a fun time anyways.
Yes, we did get the Dwarfs pic...after a long, long wait. :rotfl:
I was thrilled to be there and take it all in. It was a dream come true to see the Halloween stuff.

POP was as gorgeous as always! We came home with lots of pics and 3 extra bags...yes, I did alot of shopping...
Miss Anita would have been very proud of me! :rotfl2:

I am happy to say I didn't cry when I left on the Un-Magical Express...cause having another trip does wonders for your spirits.
I'm so looking forward to meeting everyone at the NYE Bash!

I almost booked POLY with the 40% discount for a split stay with POP but I decided to save the money instead...for more shopping....just kidding! :lmao:

I really enjoyed catching up, the zoo looked like so much fun!
You are lucky to have such a nice one so close by.
Thanks for sparing us on all the snake pics.
I went into the Caramel shop once and it looked soo good but it was just after stuffing myself at Chefs de France so I didn't get anything.
I vowed to go back but it never came to pass.

Happy belated birthday Jill...may all your dreams come true!

:yay: Get those suitcases out! You are leaving in just a few days! :yay:

You should have booked Poly for one night - NYE - and we could have all brought our sleeping bags! ;)

I'm so glad you got to have a DIS meet. Aren't DISers just the nicest folks?

I am sorry you had to spend some sick time in WDW, though.

Thanks for the keychain. I added it to my ring. :goodvibes

Oh my word. I seriously should not have read this right now. I am starving and those pictures all look soooooo good. YUM! I'll take one of everything please. :goodvibes

You are going to have a huge sugar rush!!!

My mom and I have already planned to hit the caramel shop on one of our Epcot visits, since we like going there just to walk around, shop, and eat. My dad can't stand caramel, so more for us!

I don't think I got to tell you, but we booked our first ADR's of the trip -- Chef Mickey's (of course) and Boma. I am very excited for zebra domes!

I almost booked Chef Mickey's for this trip for Kay's granddaughter, but then I decided that with such a short time and with a limited budget, we'll just let her meet the characters at Character Spot.

So far I have liked everything about your dad, but not liking caramel??? I may have to rethink.

I can't wait to see that caramel shop. I won't even try to spell or say the name. I'm sure I'll want one of each of everything. THanks for sharing!!

Care-a-mel Koosh is how I say it. Not sure if that is right, though.

WooHoo! :woohoo: I'm finally caught up! Only took over a week....things were tough coming back to reality this time. Next time I go, I'm not coming back! Although it was nice to see all of your pictures today and see what I'm now missing like crazy!

Happy belated birthday Jill! Trent is probably right at least partly, I know several people with your birthday. However, you are all very special!

MeMom, I loved your 40th anniversary photo tribute! It was amazing to be at MK that day. We were in early and got the buttons and saw the welcome show and went up for the presentation at the castle and the 360 degree version of Wishes that night. It was an awesome day! And I got meet up with CanadianWDWFan and her family which was lovely! It was a great trip and I took 1322 pictures so I will try my best to get some up soon! My laptop wont take them all so it will be a long process! Great, great trip!

The Nashville zoo looks like fun! Looks like you all had a great day together!

I'm glad you got to have that meet. We enjoy putting faces to names - real names and faux names. ;)

We will love seeing all of your pictures!

Oh how I love that little slice of caramel heaven!!! I could just sit in there and "smell" all day!!! So good!!! Can't wait to get back!!

Thank you for the treats this afternoon! Went well with my lunch!!!

Well in other news I have managed to pack LOL!!! Now to stop thinking of more things to stuff in the suitcases LOL!!

See you REALLY soon!!

It does smell good in there. ::yes::

I have a confession to make. If we were really there, I wouldn't be so quick to say 'my treat'.

I am not packed. Luckily, I have done this enough times that I think I can handle it pretty quickly when crunch time comes.

***************************************

In the chaos and stress of all the school stuff that is going on, our principal failed to tell the tutoring teachers that we were starting this Thursday. Nobody knew until the letters went home with the kids. Sooo, the last evening time that I thought I had has been cut short. Also, a close family friend (you've seen her in some of our pictures here over the years) lost her dad to cancer today, and the visitation is Thursday night. The funeral is Friday, so I have to decide whether I am going to try to go by there very quickly after tutoring and not go to the funeral, or if I will finish my packing Thursday night and take off of work for a while Friday and go to the funeral. I don't think I will be doing both. I am probably going to leave school and go to the funeral, as I am thinking now.

Anyway, this just adds more stress to the week. It will be hard to see this man's sweet wife grieve for him. They were always together. She's always so bubbly and talkative, so it will be different seeing her be sad. I texted with her granddaughter a little earlier, and she said her mom and grandmom were taking it pretty hard right now. He was a wealthy man who contributed a lot of money to different organizations. A lot of people will be at the funeral, for sure. Keep our friends in your thoughts as they go through this.

:hug:I am so sorry to hear about your friend. My thoughts & prayers to you & the family. I wish I could offer more than this to you but please know that I am thinking of you all.

So sorry to hear about your friend MeMom! My thoughts will definitely be with all of you.

If I don't make it back over here before you go...

Have a GREAT trip!!! My thoughts will be with you there too! ;)

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :faint:

I'm terrified of spiders. Just that picture is giving me the creeps...

So sorry to hear about your friend

Meg and I are planning a DIS meet on the 23rd! We're going to the aquarium in Boston again :dance3: Kailyn is probably coming too :) I'm so excited! Apparently they just opened a shark and ray touch tank. I want to touch them but I have a feeling I'll chicken out :rotfl: It took me forever to work up the courage to touch the crabs in the tank last time

So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend's father. I hope she and her family are able to find some peace at this difficult time.

Also sorry to hear about the last minute tutoring situation. Must be going around-today at a meeting they said that we weren't supposed to give our math tests cumulatively, they had to be on-going...well, we are scheduled to give ours tomorrow! Anyways, they decided we could give it but have to change the way we do everything from this point on. Just wish they would make up their minds!!

Good luck getting everything done this week. I bet you could pack with your eyes closed!:goodvibes

I just had another chunk of valuable time taken up for Thursday evening. I didn't realize they were going to start the tutoring program the day before fall break, but they want to do the introduction day then so we can go full speed when we return from break. So, Thursday, when it is all coming to a crucial point for being ready, I'll be tutoring until 5:30 and then getting going on the crucial part.

:scared1::scared1: Oh No I hate when that happens. Is it really that hard to notify the people actually doing the tutoring of when they are going to start?

I am also so sorry to hear about your friend's dad. I hope you find the time to either go to the visitation or the funeral and not feel rushed at either.

I took a big breath as I walked in with you and actually smelled some caramel. I didn't realize you incorporated smell-o-vision too. :lmao:

DisneySummer20112ndset667.jpg

I got a carmel krispy treat and one of those Carmel pecan bars. I still have some of the pecan bar. I can only nibble a bit at a time since it is so rich but it was a nice treat to start onthe plane ride home.

Can you get a decent start to your packing tomorrow? I really need to do the same. I have a few things stacked in a laundry basket and a Disney bag. I don't even have luggage brought up from the basement though.
This is the time that I'm so thankful for our purple lockers. I don't have to worry about much of anything besides clothes!

I know you will find the exact right way to comfort your friends in their time of need. If this had to happen I'm glad that you were there for them as much as you could be.

As far as the tutoring goes, why are we always the last to know?

So sorry to hear about your friend's dad. My you are going through a lot of stressful situations this week! Hang in there! :grouphug:

Seems like they are too busy and too far apart to meet. Maybe Jill will give me another grandbaby, and 'it' will be triplets. ;)

One of the reasons we don't make room requests is that we have fun guessing where we are going to be. Everybody picks a different building, and we assign Bella whatever is left over. Last time, she was the winner! Now that she's old enough to talk, we'll let her make her guess first, and then we'll all guess after her. We'll do that for the December trip. :santa:

I'm not feeling great about leaving Bella behind, but this time with Brooklynn will be special, and I'll take Bella when she's five, maybe, if Brooklynn is okay with it. It might be one of those 'first grandchild only' things, though, if it is too painful to leave the others behind. I really want to take Jill someday for a long weekend big girl trip.

You leave in a couple of days!!!!!

I know, and I will be grateful when I have time to
a) get ready for it
and
b) be excited about it.
The packing has to be done Thursday, or I'll be buying all my supplies in Disney World  and the excitement will probabl happen late Friday afternoon.

:hug:I am so sorry to hear about your friend. My thoughts & prayers to you & the family. I wish I could offer more than this to you but please know that I am thinking of you all.

It's our friend who has the pretty house on the river and the dog, Jack, that Brooklynn likes to play with. Her husband does my taxes for me. They have always been so special to us. Their daughter and son were in the same classes at school as Jill and Trent. Trent wore many of Philip's hand-me-downs through the years. Our friend looks just exactly like her mother, so when I see her mom, I see Karen when she she is older. Her mom is always so full of life. She tells me every time I see her how much they enjoyed watching Trent play basketball in high school. Karen's kids just lost their other grandfather a few weeks ago, too. Their dad's dad had been sick a long time, though, and had Alzheimer's, so they were more prepared. This granddad had cancer, and he was still 'normal' until pretty close to the end.

Thanks for your good thoughts.

So sorry to hear about your friend MeMom! My thoughts will definitely be with all of you.

If I don't make it back over here before you go...

Have a GREAT trip!!! My thoughts will be with you there too! ;)

I think we will have much fun, and I will be happy when I can finally just get away from all the school stuff for a while.

:scared1: :faint:

I'm terrified of spiders. Just that picture is giving me the creeps...

So sorry to hear about your friend

You touch those animals and have Meg take a picture to prove it!!! :thumbsup2 You don't get those opportunities often, so go for it. Do it for your DIStown friends! :cheer2:

The 23rd is Drew's birthday, so eat a cupcake or have some ice cream to celebrate.

He was a good man, faithful to God and a well-known contributor in the community. They know he rests safe in the arms of Jesus, but it will be a rough few days going through the funeral, of course. It's always good to see old friends at a time like this, but it's too bad that it has to be laced with the sadness.

My packing is not all that hard, really. I roll up some t-shirts and capris -being the fashion goddess that I am - and toss in a bag of unmentionables. All of the hair and make-up stuff has to go in at the last minute. There's not much to it. I am glad that I got started Sunday, though.

:scared1: Oh No I hate when that happens. Is it really that hard to notify the people actually doing the tutoring of when they are going to start?

I am also so sorry to hear about your friend's dad. I hope you find the time to either go to the visitation or the funeral and not feel rushed at either.

I was thinking the pecan bar might be a good choice for this trip. I love pecans!

Smell-o-vision? Yep, we need that. I was telling Jill I want to get an I-whatever (pod, pad?) so I could just video live from Disney World as we go along, but I bet that would cost a lot.

The visitation and the funeral will be packed, so we won't have time to 'visit', so to speak. It'll be more of sharing a hug and tears and moving on, but I do want to get there. We have meetings at school Friday, though, so I don't need to miss those. I'll have to talk to the principal today and see what is on the agenda.

Can you get a decent start to your packing tomorrow? I really need to do the same. I have a few things stacked in a laundry basket and a Disney bag. I don't even have luggage brought up from the basement though.

As far as the tutoring goes, why are we always the last to know?

I will have to get a move on it tonight. We have a faculty meeting - about the evaluations. Can you believe it???

Two of the tutoring teachers had already made other plans, so they aren't coming.

I think the purple locker idea sounds pretty good, because I would like to have a box fan that stays down there. We bought one just before we got there in the summer, when we were driving, but this time we are flying. I have a small one, so I hope it does the trick. I suffocate without stirring air. :upsidedow

So sorry to hear about your friend's dad. My you are going through a lot of stressful situations this week! Hang in there! :grouphug:

The plate has stayed pretty full since school started. I got there at 6:30 yesterday and left at about ten 'til 6. The days are long. I will hang in, because that's all one can do, but I will sure appreciate these breaks more than ever! ::yes::

Very sorry about your sad news. Just another reminder of how thankful we should be for each day, even the rotten ones.

Good morning. I am so sorry to hear about your friend's father. Life is so sad sometimes. It reminds you of what is important in life.
So glad you are leaving this weekend! Have fun, relax, and enjoy being with Brooklynn. You need the break. I am sure you have heard that lawmakers are taking a second look at the evaluation system in Tennessee due to major stresses on teachers and administrators. I hope it leads to change.
Love the caramel pics. We went there this trip and I had the chocolate, peanut butter cookie with caramel. Yum!!
Have a great day!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. :( Even if a passing is expected or not a complete surprise, it's still very very hard. I'll be praying for them.

Sounds like you have a busy few days before you leave!!!

Caroline's baby sister is due TODAY, so we've been on baby watch here. :) Hopefully I'll go to Chicago this weekend & see her. :) Her mommy is getting pretty uncomfortable so I know she wants to get this show on the road. :) I'll post a picture as soon as I have one.

My prayers go out to your friends family. I hope they find comfort in knowing he was a good man and a well liked man.

I wish you didn't have to be so rushed before the trip.

The one thing I love about WDW is once you get there...all of life's troubles, problems, stresses and worries disappear.
It's the submersive Disney Magic! I LOVE IT!!!

I know that you and Brooklynn will have a great time and it will be extra fun to have Kay and her grandaughter along too.

Can I put in a request? I was unable to get the MK mug while I was there.
I got a green lid Halloween one & a red lid Villians one instead.
I got all the other parks.
If you happen to see it, I would be very grateful if you picked it up for me and I could re-emburse you for it.
The OCD in me has to have the whole set. :lmao:

I was like you and never requested a room before. Enjoyed the surprize.
We got spoiled this time being so close to the main pool & food court that from now on it will be prefered for us. :)

I will be thinking about you next week and I will smile knowing you are enjoying the well deserved break from teaching.

Brooklynn must be getting so excitted! :goodvibes

I would have booked all of us a POLY room for the NYE night except the discount didn't start til Jan.2,12.
It's so tempting but I'm trying to tell myself I don't "need" to stay there. My DMom said I can use the money for more shopping cause I did leave a few things in the stores, that I didn't buy this time. She is so funny. LOL

Wedding plans are going well. I don't know if you noticed, but I now have a ticker for our Disney-moon!!! We can make our ADR's in January, so we're just trying to decide where we want to eat.

 Okay I'll do it for my DIS friends :thumbsup2 We're calling this Fake Epcot Meet #2 ;)

Oh there will definitely be some ice cream. We discovered "Moo Bella" last year at the little food court at the aquarium. It's a make your own ice cream machine. You pick a flavor and something to mix into it(like oreo crumbs and stuff like that). We thought it was the coolest thing in the world

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend Caren! I will say a prayer for the family during their time of loss.

I know you'll get everything done, just wish it wasn't so helter skelter for you!!!!!

Have a great Wednesday!
