Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

I am still getting caught up!! Okay, I have to say this warmed my heart today. Since I was not on facebook yet, I had no idea that Bella had started warming up to the characters. This is great news! :dance3: I just love the picture of her and Tink. It is too precious.:cutie:

:yay: Yay, I am glad you are still getting something for the contest! I sure hope it some books. Let us know when you recieve it.

I will take a picture of the goodies. Somewhere along the way, maybe on the Wed. night show, they said the prize was Disney books, so that is what made me think to enter.

We hope to get more good pictures of Bella and her Disney friends in December. :santa: I hope she will remember that it was a good and fun thing and go right into cooperating. She loves seeing them on youtube, so maybe the fear will be a thing of the past.

I'm glad you're getting a prize too, Memom! I voted as much as I could - your room was really the best. You also didn't have a youtube video for your students begging for their votes :rolleyes1 Sorry, I will try to be as gracious about the loss as you :goodvibes

Love the new pics - yay for Bella! That is a great idea about giving her an autograph book. I'll have to try that with my baby. Where exactly is the Tink meet and greet in Epcot? I don't think I've ever seen it...

I didn't watch the youtube video except for going to the 6 minute mark to see what Disney reference she had.

The best remember, it was over behind MouseGear. I'll ask Jill to be sure.

I am so glad for your students. :goodvibes This restores my faith in that special Disney Pixie Dust. Your students were already blessed with Disney Magic daily thanks to a wonderful teacher with or without the books, but this makes it a little more magical.

As always, you guys are far too nice toward me. I am glad we are going to have some extra Disney magice coming our way. It will be very exciting to open the package and see what we get!

MeMom: Yay for your classroom! I was hoping that they would do something for your class. Also, in trip news......Sarah and I will be staying at (you guessed it) POP!!!!:cool1: Who knows we might be neighbors.

Jill: I too think there are times to let it go and times to speak up. Good for you for speaking up.

Are you making a room request? We pretty much always just let them put us wherever. We make a guessing game of where we will be. One time, when we were there for my 50th birthday, I requested the 50's just to be thematic. We've stayed in almost every building now, some more than once, and we've definitely covered every decade.

I will be praying for your mom.

MeMom, I am so glad that you are still going to get something for your classroom. I had a few of my friends tell me they voted for you and they were so upset that the other class won. I will have to share the good news with them.

Tell your friends than you so much. Also tell them that that was the first and last contest for me, so I won't be soliciting any more votes for anything. ;) We will happily take our Disney goodies and call and end to any competitions.

Hooray! I'm thrilled that you will receive a prize box MeMom! It's much deserved. :thumbsup2

Little did I know when I was decorating my room all alone this summer what a large crowd of people were really going to end up investing in it. :goodvibes

YAY! Memom gets a prize too!:yay:

Jill - RIGHT ON! I'm glad you spoke up. Some people always try to get away with something and I hate it when they use their kids to do it. Talk about teaching them a bad lesson!

I feel the same way about some of our school parents who have such anti-authority attitudes and who talk so trashy around their kids. The kids don't have a chance to grow up knowing any better. That's why teachers work so hard to offset some of that by setting higher standards and hoping for the best.

I am so very happy for you and your kids!! That reaffirms my belief in Disney Magic!:goodvibes

Congrats to Bella for her awesome interaction! Way to go Jill for coming up with a clever idea to entice Miss Bella!:cutie:

Won't it be fun to open the box and see what Disney fun awaits us?!?!? :wizard:

Who'da thunk a little autograph book would have made a little girl so powerful? :cutie:

I don't blame you Jill. I too almost always let stuff like that go because it just isn't worth it to me. And folks can be crazy nowadays... you never know who might go postal on you! :rotfl: But I do average about one ugly incident per trip! If I can tell that someone just doesn't know any better, then that's one thing. Not everyone is a Disser and there are a lot of people who go to Disney that don't have a clue what's going on or how things are done. But when you run across that person that is just blatantly rude, you have to speak up. On the bright side, I will say that I run into less rude people at Disney than I do in "real life" though, and that's surprising considering the sheer volume of people you encounter there.

For the volume of people coming and going there, we have witness very, very few incidents of any kind. That speaks well for the place.

I love the character pictures. Bella looks so proud.
I am glad your class is getting some books Memom, without you having to pay for them yourself.

She does look proud. As soon as she got close the first time, we started clapping and telling her she was doing a good job and sheering her on, and it just 'caught' at that moment.

I am glad about the books, too. :)

I'm glad that your classroom is getting those books. You deserve and wdwradio knew that the other class absolutely did not deserve to win.

:thumbsup2

:rotfl: Although I do think the winner must be an outstanding teacher, I will agree that her classroom did not outdo all the others, and I think the original intent was to showcase the classroom itself.

Just caught up again. I am so glad you are getting the books! I am now caught up to go again on Thursday. Somehow I am going to make it through the 5k for that mickey ghost medal! The pics of the girls are just adorable!!

You guys have a great time this weekend! I hope several of you can meet up at some point and send us some DIS friends pictures.

<3myfamily- Prayers for your mom and your family.

Memom - :goodvibes I am soooo glad that WDW is acknowledging your "fantasmic" classroom!

Thanks! I am hoping we can fit in a real Fantasmic showing on this coming trip - possibly on our Epcot day. Kay did end up getting park hoppers for them. I think her husband agreed to help a little on the tickets, since he's mush when it comes to the granddaughter. ;)

Thanks for all the prayers & words of support for my mom! I had asked her what she wanted for her birthday, and she said all she wanted were alot of prayers... so I'm trying to get her as many as possible. I also am sending out prayers to those families that are/were dealing with issues in their lives also. God is good and I will keep on praying!

Memom... I am so glad you are getting a prize box too! Your kids really deserve it! :cool1:

Jill.. thank you for saying something. I am so tempted at times to speak my mind when I see kids/parents acting rudely, but my DD's never want me to make a scene! I sometimes wonder if parents teach their kids any manners at all anymore. :confused3

Since we are in year round school, we are just starting our two week break! :woohoo: We went to the San Diego Zoo today and the animals were all up and moving around. Of course, I thought of you Memom, and wished you could be there to see it all! I'd post pictures, but I still don't think I can yet. We hope to get to go to Disneyland on Wednesday! Their version of Haunted Mansion at Halloween with Jack Skellington is the BEST! Once again... wish I could post pics of that too! Maybe I'll have to just friend you on FB, as that is where I post my pictures.

Have a wonderful week, and once again, thanks for the prayers.

Enjoy your time off. Next year, with our new more balanced calendar, we will get two weeks at spring break. That will be very, very odd for us! I am sure there will be time for a Flower and Garden trip. :cool1:

Good for you! :thumbsup2

Congrats MeMom! I'm sure you will put those books to good use.

Thanks, kind sir. We surely will put it all to good use. ::yes::

Congratulations on receiving a (rightful) prize for your classroom!! That is amazing!!

So glad you guys are getting some books, too! That's awesome news!

I love the pictures of the girls with Tink. I am so glad you guys can now get pictures of both the girls with the characters!

Also, just had to share of my trip excitement...we hit double digits today! 99 days!

I didn't watch the youtube video except for going to the 6 minute mark to see what Disney reference she had.

Nope, it was a different video on her youtube channel asking for her students and "everybody that you've ever met" to vote for her. There's also a different video showing her classroom and literally the only thing in there that references Disney are the Happy Meal boxes. Oh well...sorry I'm a little bitter ;) You'd think I was in the contest! :lmao:

Thank you. We are very honored that they thought of giving us something even without winning.

Yay for double digits! :cheer2:

We will hope Bella keeps up the character fun in December. I think she will. :thumbsup2

Well, that is interesting. I had no idea. I can't imagine going to such great lengths for something like this. Really, it was more involved than I thought it would be, and I wouldn't do it again seeing how this one turned out. I'll gladly vote for any of my DIS friends that wants to do it next year.

Let's go somewhere that makes us happy. :)

Random walking around pictures.

DisneySummer20112ndset560.jpg

I have no desire to see Captain EO, but since it's about the only thing I don't have a picture of in WDW, I took a picture of the kiosk.

DisneySummer20112ndset561.jpg

On to see Figment and his scientific friends.

Amazing! There was a butterfly in there a second ago!!!

DisneySummer20112ndset568.jpg

Hey, wait! We're supposed to go into the touch and taste labs. You're taking us the wrong way!

Into the upside down world of Figment.

This ride exits into Imageworks, where there are several activities kids enjoy.

Then it goes into Figment's gift shop.

If you want to put your family under the magical arch permanently, it can be done here.

Here are the puzzle prices.

DisneySummer20112ndset581.jpg

The Figment choir was belting out 'One Little Spark'.

DisneySummer20112ndset582.jpg

Did you see the red book on the second shelf?
I need that book sometimes about halfway through a school day, when mine begins to fizzle out.

That's it for tonight. Time for ice cream and strawberries.
Or maybe a root beer float?
Not sure, but whatever it is, ice cream will be involved.

I am waiting for Hallowishes from the poly. I found a small shot glass type if you still need a small glass for your sand.

Enjoy your ice cream, I'm having clodhoppers.
and DISing.

For the record, I think you should give Capt. EO a chance. It's really pretty good.

What are clodhoppers????
Capt. EO is ok, when we saw it it wasn't very busy! You should do it at least once!

We love Figment and watch the ride on Youtube a couple times a week! That song is so catchy.

I don't have any real memories of watching Captain EO, but something tells me that I did watch it back in the day. I have no desire to see it now, though. I really want them to put a new attraction there. Any ideas?

Thanks for the scenery pics of Epcot. I don't know why, but it makes me feel more at "home" than pics of any other park. I can't wait to go back!

Those Figments singing away in the gift shop are awfully cute!

Hope you enjoyed your ice cream -- we have been consuming chocolate covered Peeps pumpkins and candy corn at an alarming rate at our house. :rotfl:

I wish they had more Figment merchandise - I love him!! (You're probably sick of me pointing out the items you take pictures of that I have, but I love my "One Little Spark" shirt! Okay. I'll stop. I promise!) Were those Figment dolls really singing, or were you just joking? 'Cause a singing Figment would drive DBF nuts enough to make me consider that...:rotfl:

Alright. Captain EO, while certainly not the most amazing thing you'll see at Disney, is still pretty attendance-worthy. If only for the hours of merriment you'll have after being like "wait...what???". I think it's worth seeing once. But I'm always up for an '80s-tastic film!

Thank you for bringing me somewhere happy this morning :goodvibes

Figment is not a ride we usually bother with but I think the Image Works labs are pretty cool! :thumbsup2

I've never seen Captain EO either...just never really had the urge!

Mmmmm....root beer floats!

Good call on skipping Captain EO, it is a blast from the past but it's really not great.

Thanks for taking us somewhere happy with your pictures! :)

I loved Journey into Imagination so much as a kid. It makes me a little sad to see so few people enjoying it today. :sad1:

I haven't seen Captain Eo since the 80's but might try to see it in Oct. I just read somewhere it cost over a million dollars a minute to make!! :scared1:

We love Figment. When my ds moved out I had him go through the stuffed animals I had saved. He had a Figment and it was the only thing he kept as a memory of our 2 trips we took in the 80's. Also wanted to mention we saw Captain EO in Jan. My dgs(11) said it was ok and he was glad we saw it, but he didn't care to ever see it again. I think I felt the same way. I think it was my son-in-law who was a Michael Jackson fan who really wanted to see it. He's not really a Disney lover like the rest of us, so we gladly went with him to something he wanted to do. It's good to see you getting closer to your trip as my dh and I go the next week. And I so need a break from work.:dance3:
