Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Awwww...seeing this update reminded me that it has been quite awhile since I last rode Journey into the Imagination. I think it is time I visit Figment again!!! The singing Figments look absolutely adorable!!!!

I think Captain EO is definitely worth seeing once!! I enjoyed it, definitely a flashback to everything 80s!!!!!

Oh Figment!! So cool!! I love that little guy. :)

I would LOVE to be there on NYE with all of you, but I am trying to justify it (I know I've come to the right place for that!). I am thinking of buying a new house next summer / fall. I looked at one in the area I want on Sunday & today I meet with my realtor friend to get things moving. :) Then I'll have 3 bedrooms & room for DIS friends to visit!! :)

Okay, please no flames. I've never been on, "Journey into the Imagination with Figment." It just has never fit into the schedule before and we figured we could skip it.:rolleyes1

Now that we have a 15 (almost 16) month old, we will be flocking to rides like this, rides that are easy and eye catching. And I will tell my DH that it is a requirement to ride, he must experience all of Madelyn's firsts at Disney, even if this one will be our first, too.

I have to admit in all my trips to the world I have never seen Figment. Maybe I might just try it in a few weeks.

Oh yeah MeMom I forgot to answer your question about building request. We always get the preferred room. But this time I'm just gonna wing it. It will only be Sarah and me so I don't think we will be going back to the room until we are done for the night. So it really doesn't matter to me how close we are to everything Pop this time. It will be close to 11:30 pm before we even arrive so I guess we will see what happens. Oh yeah we arrive on Friday night October 14th and check out the 18th. It's getting so close.

I'm with you on CEO. I won't be seeing it either. I've never liked MJ though, so I know I wouldn't care for it.

And it looks like I am in the minority here on Figment too. I like it ok and think it has some cute concepts, but it feels outdated to me. It's got that whole 70's vibe going on. I think I would like it a lot better if they gave it a makeover. :confused3 Maybe it's because Figment is not a recognizable character to me like the ones in the Disney movies. Now that I think of it, I have no idea who Figment is??? :rotfl:

Hi MeMom & gang. I had a lot of catching up to do. I have not been well for a while & have been in bed for a week with my Colitis flaring up a bit. Now I need to decide on another medication with very bad side affects or have my colon removed.:scared1:

I am glad to hear you will be getting a prize. I saw it on FB & voted for you of course & I think your room was just so much better than any other one. I am anxious to see your goodies!!

I am home on sick leave & enjoying all your updates. I am worried as to how I will be feeling as DH & I are supposed to leave for Disney on the 26th of Oct. I need to get better by then!!

Anita-what the heck is a clodhopper????

I personally feel Captain EO is a snooze fest. I was bored out of my mind! Honey I Shrunk the Audience wasn't much better. ;) I adore Figment though. The ride isn't that exciting but that Figment is just a cutie! :goodvibes The smelling room part of the ride is fun too!

All caught up again.I am so glad that your class will be getting books to share. You all really deserve it.:) Great Epcot pictures. Wish i was there right now(or anywhere in Disney for that matter:laughing:). Still, can't complain. We are having a mini heatwave hear in England. A lovely way to start Autumn.:goodvibes

Sooo, in contest news, I received an e-mail from WDW Radio that said since the voting was so close, our class would also receive a prize box. :cool1: It said it would be announced in a blog soon, so I'll let you know if/when I see it. Wigd, you get to keep your awesome book, and Jen, you can decide if you still want to do that group's project or not. I will PM you later tonight.

I am SO happy to hear that!!!!! You'll have to share with us what your prize box is when you receive it.

I laughed out loud at the brain book and your comment. :rotfl: I could use one of those myself!!!

I am waiting for Hallowishes from the poly. I found a small shot glass type if you still need a small glass for your sand.

I got a glass that said Polynesian on it a few trips ago. It's not as small as I wanted, but it's okay, because we pick up a pinch of sand whenever we go and add it to the glass. I can be at the Poly beach any time I want to now. ;)

Enjoy your ice cream, I'm having clodhoppers.
and DISing.

For the record, I think you should give Capt. EO a chance. It's really pretty good.

Maybe someday on EO, but I'm not an MJ fan, so probably not.

Since my first evaluation has been finished, I have had a tiny bit more DIS time, but not much. There's always something new to do every time I go to my mailbox. Plus, there will be Eval #2 coming in October or November. They have to do two before Christmas break and two after for tentured teachers and three and three for non-tenured. That's all they do now - walk around with clipboards looking all stressed out.

I enjoyed my ice cream. How were your clodhoppers?

Have fun!! Are you going to go to MNSSHP? How long are you there? Take lots of pics!! LOL!

I texted with Pat yesterday for a couple of minutes. She was leaving Hollywood and going to Epcot for EMH.

What are clodhoppers????
Capt. EO is ok, when we saw it it wasn't very busy! You should do it at least once!

Maybe sometime, if I am really, really in the mood to do something new. I didn't mind MJ back in the original brothers' band days, although I was far too focused on Donny Osmond at the time to take much notice. He went a little far out for me, though, in the end. Just my personal opinion.

We love Figment and watch the ride on Youtube a couple times a week! That song is so catchy.

I don't have any real memories of watching Captain EO, but something tells me that I did watch it back in the day. I have no desire to see it now, though. I really want them to put a new attraction there. Any ideas?

Thanks for the scenery pics of Epcot. I don't know why, but it makes me feel more at "home" than pics of any other park. I can't wait to go back!

What did we do before youtube? I type in Disney surprise trips sometimes and enjoy watching kids - and adults - go crazy at getting a Disney trip for Christmas or whenever. I have laughed and cried at them.

I'm all for a new attraction to replace EO, and if they want to put something new at Stitch and Ellen's Energy Adventure, I'm all for that, too. I know they are the favorites for some others, though, and they would probably want Soarin' replaced. ;) There's something for everyone, right? :thumbsup2

I love the figment ride. I think it is so fun!!

And Creighton loves Imageworks. He thinks THAT is so fun!

The girls like dancing and making music the most.

Those Figments singing away in the gift shop are awfully cute!

Hope you enjoyed your ice cream -- we have been consuming chocolate covered Peeps pumpkins and candy corn at an alarming rate at our house.

Getting in your practice for eating Halloween candy soon, huh? Ice cream is my addiction. I eat ice cream almost every day.

The Figment chorus was lovely. :)

I wish they had more Figment merchandise - I love him!! (You're probably sick of me pointing out the items you take pictures of that I have, but I love my "One Little Spark" shirt! Okay. I'll stop. I promise!) Were those Figment dolls really singing, or were you just joking? 'Cause a singing Figment would drive DBF nuts enough to make me consider that...

Alright. Captain EO, while certainly not the most amazing thing you'll see at Disney, is still pretty attendance-worthy. If only for the hours of merriment you'll have after being like "wait...what???".I think it's worth seeing once. But I'm always up for an '80s-tastic film!

The Figments were not singing in real life....

only in my

Imagination, imagination!
A dream can be a dream come true, with just a spark, from me and you!

Thank you for bringing me somewhere happy this morning

Figment is not a ride we usually bother with but I think the Image Works labs are pretty cool!

I've never seen Captain EO either...just never really had the urge!

I only go to Figment when the girls are with me. The couple of times that I've done grown-up trips, we didn't go. Of course now, I'd probably at leats have to go in the gift shop to send Brooklynn a picture if she were not with me.

Mmmmm....root beer floats!

Good call on skipping Captain EO, it is a blast from the past but it's really not great.

I went with the root beer float. :goodvibes

Thanks for taking us somewhere happy with your pictures!

I loved Journey into Imagination so much as a kid. It makes me a little sad to see so few people enjoying it today.

I haven't seen Captain Eo since the 80's but might try to see it in Oct. I just read somewhere it cost over a million dollars a minute to make!!

I've seen it only once with any real line formed. Brooklynn does not like the stinky part or the loud noises.

Here she is enjoying one part of the ride.

We love Figment. When my ds moved out I had him go through the stuffed animals I had saved. He had a Figment and it was the only thing he kept as a memory of our 2 trips we took in the 80's. Also wanted to mention we saw Captain EO in Jan. My dgs(11) said it was ok and he was glad we saw it, but he didn't care to ever see it again. I think I felt the same way. I think it was my son-in-law who was a Michael Jackson fan who really wanted to see it. He's not really a Disney lover like the rest of us, so we gladly went with him to something he wanted to do. It's good to see you getting closer to your trip as my dh and I go the next week. And I so need a break from work.

That was nice of you to go with him. If someone in our group wants to ever see it, I'll go with them, but so far, no one has mentioned it.

Have a great time! I am ready for a break, as well. ::yes::

If you go before we get there, tell Figment that Brooklynn will be back to see him soon.

A new house is definitely a reason to put Disney trips on hold. That's very exciting! :dance3:

It's okay, you will get your share of Figment in the years ahead. She will probably like it - except for the stinky part and the loud part. ;)

Figment was Dreamfinder's sidekick a long time ago. He's a mixed up version of things Dreamfinder found on his travels.

I probably like the gift shop better than the ride, because I like unique Disney items. And who back at home has anything Figment-related? Truth is, I look at the merchandise, but the only Figment item I have ever gotten for myself is a koosh ball thing to use at school. :upsidedow

Anita-what the heck is a clodhopper????

So sorry to hear you have been having so many troubles. I hope you can get it all straightened out so you can enjoy normalcy again. I sure hope you feel good enough to take your trip!

Thanks for the vote and the compliment on the room. I don't know that it was the best, but it was at least decorated, and it was different from just the classic Disney theme.

Yummy munchies, as far as I know. At least what I know of clodhoppers are that they are the Chex cereal, powdered sugar, chocolate chips-type mixes. I think different people put in different things they like, such as nuts.

I personally feel Captain EO is a snooze fest. I was bored out of my mind! Honey I Shrunk the Audience wasn't much better. I adore Figment though. The ride isn't that exciting but that Figment is just a cutie! The smelling room part of the ride is fun too!

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience is another one that needs to be changed, and I think it is getting that right now. Seems like I read they were putting something new in there.

I'm looking forward to the cooler temperatures of autumn and the wonderful low electric bills for a couple of months. :thumbsup2

I am SO happy to hear that!!!!! You'll have to share with us what your prize box is when you receive it.

I laughed out loud at the brain book and your comment. I could use one of those myself!!!

I am trying to teach past tense verbs right now. I have said a million times

vowel y, just add ed ---- enjoyed, played

and

consonant y, change to i, then add ed ---- carried, hurried

but

it doesn't seem to 'catch' with some of my 7-8 year old sweeties.

I am annoyed and worried.

Not really. ;)

Some have the maturity to get it right now, and some don't. I'm afraid a lot of the material we cover these days is just too much for their little minds to grasp, unfortunately. That's why I am opposed to pushing kids ahead. Things are already tough in the curriculum these days, so they need all the maturity they can get to comprehend it.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Yeah, I know....
it's really not Friday.
But it kinda is for me, because it's my last school day this week. :cool1:

After school today, I am making my way to Aleebammer to see my girlie-girls before they head to the beach for some much needed R&R for Jill. Tomorrow is Grandparents' Day at Brooklynn's school, so I will proudly visit her classroom and be a part of her activities. We'll stop in at her Book Fair and let her make a couple of choices. Maybe she'll decide to take her new books to the beach to read in the car or at bedtime. After I kidnap Brooklynn for the rest of the day, with the school's blessings, of course, we will stop and let Bella make some book choices at her Book Fair. Then we'll go back to the house and spend the day together.

After work, Jill and John will load the car and the girls and head south, and I will get back in my car and head north. I plan to spend the weekend doing schoolwork, housework, and hanging close to the laptop to join in the 40th Anniversary festivities via 'the box'.

I will get a new update up (probably Saturday), but for now, I leave you here

DisneySummer20112ndset588.jpg

wondering, wondering, wondering where we will go next. :)

It's okay.

I know you're not really wondering.

I know
that you know
where we are heading.

And if you don't, take a peek behind the palm trees. ;)

Have a good ThursFriday, all! :goodvibes

Enjoy your time in Alabama with the girls! Sounds like a nice, relaxing weekend ahead.

I'm really interested to see what fun festivities will be going on at the MK this weekend. Disney has been so tight lipped, keeping us wondering!

@uncw89
Happy Birthday!!! Sounds like you had a great day!!!

Thank you! I did have an amazing day!

Glad you had a fun day.
And the cool thing is, you get to do it again this time next year.

Thanks! That is very cool! I'm planning on heading down to DW for my birthday next year! So excited!!!

-I have never experienced Captain EO but I feel like I should....
-Oh Figment! I rode it for the first time last trip and I like it, but it's outdated!!
-I am very much enjoying the one little spark shirt! I may have to pick that up next time!
-How funny! My eyes gravitated right to that before I even read what you wrote!
-I LOVE the nerd bag! So cute!
-I agree! This does feel like a friday to me! I have classes today but then tomorrow I only have a psych lab which is pretty easy and then I get to go home for the weekend!!!

Sounds like a great weekend to me. Glad Jill is getting some beach time in. We are supposed to have a blast of fall this weekend. I hope it holds off for her to enjoy the beach.

DD just had grandparent's day at her school too. Very sweet stuff! I am so glad that you can make it! I know you wouldn't have missed it for anything!

Allebammer.... That reminds me of one of DH's coworkers. In all his emails to DH, he kept spelling the word 'formula' as 'formuler'. Well after about a million times of seeing it that way, DH finally told him that formula was spelled with an 'a' on the end. So from then on, the guy has spelled it 'formular'! :lmao: DH said he just doesn't have the heart to correct him again! Country folks... gotta love em! ;)

Happy Friday for you MeMom!

I hope you enjoy your time with your girls. Even the smallest of breaks seem to re-charge my batteries for the days ahead.

I have even more spring in my step lately, because my family has 17 days and we'll be at Kidani!!:yay:

That Epcot picture is just gorgeous. What a sight to see and feel and smell. And everything. I'd like to even just go and sit. Just to soak it all in. :goodvibes Enjoy the fun day with your girlies tomorrow MeMom!

This made me snort and laugh Rinky. Hilarious! :rotfl2:

I love the picture of Brooklynn hiding from the loud noises on Imagination. My niece is pretty much the same way. Not a fan of stink or noise. :rotfl:

Why, I have no idea where you're going next?! *cough*Nemo*cough*

It's my Friday too! I took tomorrow off to go to the Family Fun Picnic at my DDs' school and then I get to go get a massage! Ahhhh...

I'm sure you'll have a blast in Allebammer! I enjoy Figment, never saw EO. We skipped it last time. The girls had no interest. I wish they'd do something with Ellen's Energy Adventure too. It's far too long and dull.

Where to next? I'd be happy just looking at the picture at the end, but maybe we should just keep swimming...
