We were the first ones in line here, and another lady and her daughter came up after us. We exchanged small talk for a while, and then another family came up with several children. For whatever reason, ignorance of how it worked or disregard for common courtesy, they made their way to the front of both of us. They sent their little girls up to the Tinkerbell meet spot. I guess they figured she would come out and greet the first girls who were waiting. Thankfully, the CM knew very well what was going down, and she made sure the right people got to where they should be in the right order.
I would like to take the time to comment on this. I will preface this by saying, I go to Disney World a lot. I know it is going to be hot. I know it is going to be crowded. I know I will encounter rude people who will try to take the magic out of others vacations to better their own. I usually just stand aside and let them have their moment knowing that I will be back and there is no point in arguing. This however was not one of those times.
The girls had been playing with the little girl behind us for about 15 minutes when the CM showed up. Two other little girls showed up with their mom, dad, and grandparents. The CM let all 5 girls come to see the new baby bunnies "Radish" and "Clover" and "Bryan" the squirrel. At about 5 minutes until time for Tink to come I called my girls back to the line and away from the meeting area. The mom behind me did the same thing. The other two little girls came back to their mom who at this point has removed herself from the growing line. She told them to go back up there. I was annoyed. We had been waiting in the sun just like her and her children waiting to see Tink. I gave it a minute, but when she called them back to give them their autograph books and then sent them back up to the greeting area I had to say something.
Me: "Are you not going to make them come get in line like everyone else?"
Her: "Well, what are they hurting standing there and waiting?"
Me: "Well they weren't first in line, my girls were."
Her: "Fine. Girls come back here and get in line behind these two little girls in the purple shirts."
Me: "Actually, you should be behind her." and I pointed at the little girl behind us.
Her: "Fine. Come on girls. This is ridiculous."
Normally I just let people do their thing, but it wasn't just us that she was going to be in front of and she knew exactly what she was doing. It was absolutely not ignorance.
One of things I like BEST about reading your reports (other than the fantastic pictures) is all the support you give & caring thoughts that you and all your readers have, so, I have a special request... My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, her birthday is tomorrow, and then on Tuesday, she has surgery for her breast cancer and then starts her treatment plan. Could you all please keep her in your prayers...give her the strength to get thru it all and that she has full recovery with no more cancer. Thank you all! I love the little Distown family that you have created thru your reports.
Prayers for you and your mom!
I'll be thinking about your mom. My MIL had colon cancer at the end of last year and just found out on Thursday that she now has it in her liver. I hate cancer. Your mom will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers.
Thoughts and prayers to y'all, too.
