Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

So are they sending you books for your room? I have told Marc so many times that the other class is probably too old for them anyway...
OK, I'll shut up now.

To quote Bugs Bunny somewhat Shut up, shutting Up!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

HOORAYYY!!!!!! YAY MEMOM!!!! What a great surprise for you!

Hope you had a Happy Birthday!

Glad you got some DIS time.

I had an AMAZING birthday surrounded by my family! I did a bunch of really fun stuff, had an amazing cake, and got some awesome gifts! I am too! The DIS is a place of relaxation for me!

Happy Birthday!!! Sounds like you had a great day!!!

 To the one's whose mom's are having a tough time right now. I hope things get better.

Yay! I am so glad you won some stuff for your room! :cool1: I don't think it was because it was close though. I just think they could obviously see that the winner shouldn't have won and it was bothering their conscience!

We were the first ones in line here, and another lady and her daughter came up after us. We exchanged small talk for a while, and then another family came up with several children. For whatever reason, ignorance of how it worked or disregard for common courtesy, they made their way to the front of both of us. They sent their little girls up to the Tinkerbell meet spot. I guess they figured she would come out and greet the first girls who were waiting. Thankfully, the CM knew very well what was going down, and she made sure the right people got to where they should be in the right order.

I would like to take the time to comment on this. I will preface this by saying, I go to Disney World a lot. I know it is going to be hot. I know it is going to be crowded. I know I will encounter rude people who will try to take the magic out of others vacations to better their own. I usually just stand aside and let them have their moment knowing that I will be back and there is no point in arguing. This however was not one of those times.

The girls had been playing with the little girl behind us for about 15 minutes when the CM showed up. Two other little girls showed up with their mom, dad, and grandparents. The CM let all 5 girls come to see the new baby bunnies "Radish" and "Clover" and "Bryan" the squirrel. At about 5 minutes until time for Tink to come I called my girls back to the line and away from the meeting area. The mom behind me did the same thing. The other two little girls came back to their mom who at this point has removed herself from the growing line. She told them to go back up there. I was annoyed. We had been waiting in the sun just like her and her children waiting to see Tink. I gave it a minute, but when she called them back to give them their autograph books and then sent them back up to the greeting area I had to say something.
Me: "Are you not going to make them come get in line like everyone else?"

Her: "Well, what are they hurting standing there and waiting?"

Me: "Well they weren't first in line, my girls were."

Her: "Fine. Girls come back here and get in line behind these two little girls in the purple shirts."

Me: "Actually, you should be behind her." and I pointed at the little girl behind us.

Her: "Fine. Come on girls. This is ridiculous."

Normally I just let people do their thing, but it wasn't just us that she was going to be in front of and she knew exactly what she was doing. It was absolutely not ignorance.

One of things I like BEST about reading your reports (other than the fantastic pictures) is all the support you give & caring thoughts that you and all your readers have, so, I have a special request... My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, her birthday is tomorrow, and then on Tuesday, she has surgery for her breast cancer and then starts her treatment plan. Could you all please keep her in your prayers...give her the strength to get thru it all and that she has full recovery with no more cancer. Thank you all! I love the little Distown family that you have created thru your reports. :lovestruc

Prayers for you and your mom!

I'll be thinking about your mom. My MIL had colon cancer at the end of last year and just found out on Thursday that she now has it in her liver. I hate cancer. Your mom will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thoughts and prayers to y'all, too.

I don't blame you one bit!! There is no need for rudeness like that! I get so frustrated with people who do this. Like you, I try to just ignore it but there comes a time when you can't ignore things like that all the time! I think some people just don't have common sense sometimes! ugh!!

You go Jill, I can reach my point too! Most of the time I just shake my head and consider myself lucky to have another trip on the horizon, but other times I push back.

<3myfamily, I will definitely keep your mom and the rest of you in my thoughts, especially Tuesday.

Jill, good for you! I tend to shake my head and let stuff like that roll off me, but I'm glad you talked to her.

MeMom, I am so excited you get the teaching supplies as well! You definitely deserve them and I know your kids will love using the supplies they send.

Hooray for Bella finally going up to the characters! She and Brooklynn look so proud and I love how they are holding hands in all the pictures! Too cute!!! :goodvibes

I have a short week, but it has nothing to do with the school system. I am taking off Friday to go to Brooklynn's Grandparents' Day program. :lovestruc

Thanks so much for your very kind thoughts. :goodvibes

That's great! Grandparents' Day sounds sweet :cutie:

Sooo, in contest news, I received an e-mail from WDW Radio that said since the voting was so close, our class would also receive a prize box. :cool1: It said it would be announced in a blog soon, so I'll let you know if/when I see it. Wigd, you get to keep your awesome book, and Jen, you can decide if you still want to do that group's project or not. I will PM you later tonight.

Good decision, WDW Radio! I'm so happy for you and your students!

From working with the public for the past 8 years, this is unfortunately so typical, not just in WDW. In everyday life, people are less and less courteous of others, even children. You handled the situation very well, Jill!

Good for you, Jill! Things like that irritate me so much at Disney. Everyone pays the same amount of money to be there so why do some people think they should get to cut? Ugh.

MeMom, I was actually thinking about this contest last night as I fell asleep and I am SO HAPPY that they are sending you books too, you really deserve them. I was actually hoping that they would do this since the contest was close.

I'm glad that your class is receiving a surprise as well!!!! :yay::yay:

That's good that the CM's were paying attention in the Tink line. I can imagine that line cutting and other shenanigans happen more often than it should!

I was SO hoping they would double the prizes since you two both got so many votes!! :cool1: Hooray for wonderful prizes...you totally deserve it

:cool1: I was hoping they would do that. It really was obvious it turned into a popularity contest. I too do think it is great that the other teacher is so well liked, but her room was NOT that Disney. The thought and effort was not there. Your room was well thought out and adorable! Just my little opinion. ;)

LOL! I was updating on my TR and it posted here! I had both windows open, so I must have confused the DIS!

I am SO HAPPY you're getting books as well! So cool!!!

Jill, I'm glad you said something. From the other gal's commets, it's obvious she wasn't just oblivious to the line. Some people!!! :(
