Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Hopefully Irene will be downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reaches NH because we're in the path too. We're expecting a lot of rain (and possible flooding) and power outages from the wind, but hopefully we won't have serious damage.

I hope everyone south of us makes out OK!

Got home a couple hours ago and all caught up!

I saw the pictures from the Tangled party on Facebook and it looks like it was a huge success. I love the parties that Jill has for the girls.

Starring Rolls is definitely on my list of places to try. I'd love to split a cupcake from there with someone, and I have a few that I'd like to suggest to whoever I'd be splitting it with!

Glad you got to hang out with us for a while. Since school had started, things have slowed down around most of the DIS reports I read. Everyone is swamped with real life stuff!

Those cupcakes are definitely big enough to share, but you could always get 2-3 and take the leftovers back to the room for a snack later.

Hi MeMom & Jill. Have not been on the Dis too much lately but just got all caught up.

I love all the pics of Brooklynn's party. What a great job Jill & everyone!! Such great ideas.

The kids here go back next week. Cody does not go back until 9/1. Hope you are having a great start to this school year.

Just booked our room for Oct. I could not get POFQ for the AP discount so we are booked at POR. We have never stayed there but hopefully will like it.
I check every day to see if there are any rooms at POFQ.

We used to start in September - after Labor Day. Then it move back a week and then another and another. Next year the kids start on August 1st. They just passed the calendar issue. Teachers will report back toward the end of July. We're supposed to get out May 24th, I believe.

Maybe you should just stick with POR and try something new. You might really like it.

Don't worry about DIS time. None of us have had much of that lately. We're always glad to have everyone whenever they can be around. :thumbsup2

A great idea. It was great at DHS since the walk was short and the ride was short too.

If I ever get to be President of Disney World, I'll fix the bus stop numbers.

And I'll give free premium annual passes away to all of my friends.
And their families. ;)

Looks like you must've got some great Photopass pictures! And I can totally see that lady telling her kid that. Someone needs to explain to her the magic of Disney photopass photographer and I really think you should've gotten a photo MeMom Hehehehe I love the Duffy graduation bears and the "What Time is the 3:00 parade?" shirt

Oh I hate how far away all the value resorts are from the entrance especially at DHS, so very annoying I don't know if I'll be staying at a value again, but I'm pretty sure they are some of the most packed resorts and Disney... so why so far away? But at least you got a comfy Cruise Line Bus, a big plus

Can't wait to read more!

Just an occasional picture for me. I prefer taking the pictures over being in them.

That's okay about the bus stops. At the end of a day, we are tired, but the fact that we are able to be in WDW puts enough pep in my step for us to make it to the faraway bus stops.

The Art of Animation stores are some of my favorite on property! I have bought a few things in there in years past and have dreamt about buying many more!

Ed sounds like such a nice guy and what a sweetheart for walking you directly onto TSMM! Talk about First Class Service! Or maybe just some Pixie Dust!

Just found out last night that my two younger kids won't be starting school now until Sept 12th. There was mold found in the Elementary School, so they are replacing the carpets, cleaning the ducts and cleaning the library books! It was just decided late last night, so hopefully this 4-day delay is enough time to get it all done. My kids are excited to get another week off for the summer. My oldest, who is in the Middle School, will start on time (Sept 6th). She was ready start the day after school was out for the summer, so she's relieved there's no delay for her!

I am glad they are getting the mold problem solved. :thumbsup2

Yeah, the first class service was nice. I don't expect we'll get that good treatment too often.

A PIXAR playground would be amazing.

My dad wants to do DVC, I would want to, too. It's on my Bucket list.

You have a lot of years ahead to be able to get your DVC going. :goodvibes

We need to get some Imagineers going on that playground. ::yes::

We are traveling down via car early early on the 15th and hope to be checked in by 12:00 on the 16th. We planned this day as a non park day, but I have an AP so I can be flexible. If you PM me, I would love to get the details of your meet.

I will get with Anita and the MNSSHP girls and let you know.

Hi there! I am finally getting caught up. Fantabulous Tangled party! Those were the neatest Fastpasses. I've never seen any like that before. We looked for Ed on our DHS day this summer both times we rode TSMM but didn't see him either time. Must've been his day off.

Started back to work "officially" today although I've been working in my room quite a bit before today. Meetings all day today and more tomorrow. They throw all this stuff at us and then wonder why we look like zombies!

Please send prayers and good thoughts for those of us here on the East Coast, especially the Outer Banks of NC and we here in Hampton Roads, VA as we are about to get pounded by Irene. My in-laws have a whole house generator so we will be heading up there Saturday morning to 'weather' the storm. I'm downloading another book to my Kindle and got some laminated stuff to cut-I'm all set!

Those not in the storm track-have a good weekend! East Coasters, stay safe!!!!

Keep us posted on everyone, please.

It's Friday night, so I am not going to address the school comment. I am blocking school-related things out of my mind until Sunday evening. :upsidedow

That's cool that you guys got the cruise line bus! Nice & comfy.
great update..can't wait for more!

Of course, it was just a short ride to Pop, so we didn't get to pretend we were cruising for too long. ;)

I would love to be able to decorate my whole house with Disney art. I love all the prints.

Yep, there are some very cool ones!

I love the "magic" PP pictures, even if you do look like a fool when the PP photographer is taking the shot

Shopping out of the park is always a fun idea and it serves 2 purposes...shopping and cooling off in the A/C!

I'm freaking out a little bit right now...we leave for the midwest to see tinkgurl and her family tomorrow morning!!!

You guys have a great time together. :dance3:

-When I was at TSM the Drink station wasn't open yet :)
-Love all the toy story merchandise!

They do have lots of fun Toy Story stuff. :goodvibes

Hi DIS friends! I'm home from Vermont and I just got all caught up. We had a great time. My mom was fine and she's feeling pretty good. She's going back to work on Tuesday. I did about half of the 5 hour drive on the way up, but she actually did the whole drive home today, with a stop in the middle for food. I offered to do some of the driving but she said she was fine.

Originally we were supposed to come home Saturday, but we decided to come home Friday so I'd have the whole weekend to get ready for school. Then we heard that the hurricane is heading for New England so we came home a day earlier so we could have tomorrow to do grocery shopping and stuff like that before the storm hits, which is apparently supposed to be Sunday now. My first day of classes got cancelled, so I don't start until Tuesday. Move in day was supposed to be Saturday but they moved it to Monday, so classes were cancelled that day. So I went from having one full day after our trip, to four full days

Apparently all of New England is supposed to get hit. It was actually already REALLY windy in Vermont yesterday and today. We got a dead birch tree in our yard taken down before we left for Vermont. That would definitely be falling over in the storm if we hadn't done that! I loved that tree but it would've either fallen on our new roof or onto my car so I'm glad we got it taken down!

Happy very belated Birthday Brooklynn!

Those bus stops are confusing. I think AK is the park where we have to walk pretty far to the WL stop. At MK it's one of the first stops, which is silly because most people take the boat anyway.

I'm glad your mom is feeling better. You guys don't get anything smashed by trees this weekend, please!

For those of you who do not already know, our dear DIS friend, Jackie, has had to deal with the illness of her mom over the last little bit. She wanted to keep it sort of quiet as they dealt with it in their family. Most of you now know her sweet mother died yesterday. I have been texting with her off and on through her mom's hospital stay. It was extremely critical at first, then it looked like maybe she was responding a little better, but in the end, she lost her fight. Jackie says she is devastated, of course. She thought she had many more years with her mom. Her words broke my heart this morning when she said, "I have lost my best friend. I talked to her every day." :sad1:

I have fought back tears a few times today in thinking of her. I know you will all hold her family close in thought and prayer in the days ahead. This was unexpected, so they are just dealing with it as it unfolds before them. I imagine she is in some degree of shock, too, as are the kids. Just pray for their comfort as they grieve for someone they dearly loved.

Jackie---so sorry for your loss!

I will tune in to "Storm Watch" Hope all of you in the storms path stay safe and minimal damamage!

My cousin is a sophmore at Fordham University in NYC and she is not very happy she went back to school early with an earthquake and a hurricane! She said the University is already boarding up the windows and moving them somewhere safer!

My husbands Aunt and Uncle and cousin (as well as DH grandma who is there now visiting) live in upstate NY and looks like they are in the path as well!

Thoughts and prayers and best wishes and pixie dust to everyone who needs it right now.

I hope those of you who are in storm central are staying safe and your families and friends are safe and sound as well. I heard on the weather channel that there was a chance of Irene being down-graded over the weekend and I hope that holds true. We had a nasty nasty bout of storms on Wednesday with tornado warnings stretching most of the province. Scary stuff....

Lana, did you guys get the bad bad storms up there? Your city must be packed with people right now huh?

I am so, so sorry to hear that about Jackie's mom. My heart and prayers go out to her. That reminds us all to treasure every moment and every day.

I saw people writing on Jackie's wall on Facebook yesterday and today and figured out what happened. I am so sad for her and definitely keeping her and her family in my thoughts and prayers. I can't even imagine how she must feel, especially thinking that she had many more years left with her.

Oh, I'm so very sorry for Jackie's loss. I saw it on fb this morning but didn't know much about it, so was actually about to text you because I figured you would have more information, but came here first and saw your post. Thanks for updating us; Jackie and her family will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers.

Jackie- my thoughts and prayers are with you! I am so sorry for your loss.

MeMom- I think you are onto a genius idea! why aren't all the bus stop numbers resort specific. I think that would make a lot of sense.

I hope that everyone in Irene's path is battening down the hatches and is well prepared! I am actually in CT visiting my parents right, so I essentially traveled right into the path of the hurricane! We had planned to go up to visit my brother in New Hampshire for the weekend, and we were going to leave today, but Irene has forced us to make other plans. Stay safe everyone!

So sorry to hear of Jackie's loss. I know all too well how devastating it is to lose your mother.

We loaded everything from the yard in the garage. Storm is moving faster and will be on top of us tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll keep you up to date until we lose our power...

Jackie, your family will be (and already is) in my prayers. I have been holding back tears off and on all day when I thought of you.

For all of you in the path of Irene, stay safe and keep us updated.

Thanks MeMom. Went grocery shopping yesterday and spent the morning loading up the garage with outdoor furniture, toys, and plants. I really hope the storm dies down a lot before it hits Delaware. We are about a 1.5 miles from the Delaware Bay so the rain if definitely an issue for us. We have had a lot of it lately so it's not going to take too much for the Bay to flood. They are saying it could go a mile or to inland. Fingures crossed evryone stays safe!

I hope it dies down before it gets to everybody, but the weather reports I am seeing are not very hopeful. Prayers for safety!

Be safe my DIS friends! I will stay tuned to "Storm Watch" here.

I need to go get a Mickey poncho, get Drew to hold a fan up to my face, and have Trent throw a bucket of water on me as I update everyone on the status of our DIS buddies.

Just trying to keep things light in the midst of all the chaos. ;)

Hey gang! finally had some time, so all caught up.
What a nice CM! Cool experience.
I would also like to say "good Luck" to those of you in the storms path.

Yes, good luck to all of you! We know you are prepared as well as you can be. Now we'll wait and hope for it to be only a small fraction of what is predicted. :thumbsup2

oops double post. what the heck!

Or is it "What in the wuhld???"

My town is right on the water(just like most of Rhode Island) so they're worried about flooding in some areas. They're talking about evacuating a few houses that are right near the water. Our house is over a mile away from the water so we should be fine.

Sunday is supposed to be the worst day around here. If our internet goes out I'll keep you update through texts!

Fingers crossed, pixie dust thrown, and prayers said for all to be well for you guys. :wizard:

My thoughts are with all the people that are probably going to get the storm over the weekend. Just been watching it here in the UK on CNN, about all the preperations some of you are having to do. Stay safe.

It has to be so hard just watching it come right for you, knowing there is not a thing that can be done. :sad2:

I would like to add my thoughts and prayers to all who are in the path of the storm. Please keep us updated.

Thanks MeMom!!! We're in NJ, and the stores are getting a bit crowded of people and empty of merchandise nearby, but we're pretty much stocked on what we'll need. Hoping for no damage, I will absolutely keep you posted!

Thanks MeMom! My city is luckily not one of those on the coast, and we're not really close enough to the river in our city for it to be a concern, but we're still keeping an eye out. Like Christine said, it is expected to hit our areas around Sunday, which is actually my brother's birthday. He'll remember this birthday for sure. I will definitely keep you posted. Hope everyone else in the path stays safe!

Thank you MeMom. They did some evacuations in NYC, mostly near Coney Island. That is pretty close to us but not walking distance so my mom says we should be fine. We are part of the "extreme" zone though so I don't know what to expect. Hopefully everything will be okay. I'm worried though - the news keeps making it sound like we're all going to be in trouble.

Thoughts and prayers going out to those in the path of the storm. Please do you best to be prepared! Having gone through Katrina, Rita and Gustav my sympathies are with you.

I havent been on in a long time but wanted to come on to let my dis friends know I will be praying for them. Brook - I just heard they are evacuating parts of NYC. Are you affected?

Yes.....our prayers are with all off you!

My prayers and thoughts are with everyone also. Stay safe!!!

Sending my prayers as well.

I saw on Facebook that Brook is not in the evacuation zone so she's not affected in that regard, thank goodness!

To everyone in the path of the storm...be safe! Thoughts and prayers are with you. In the meantime, I'll be staying tuned to "Storm Central".

Just got a recorded message from Delmarva power say, yes we will have power outages and yes they will take several days to repair. Thanks guys! :rotfl:

Sending my thoughts and prayers to all my fellow Disers who are in the path of this storm.

I work at a bank and we've been non-stop all day with people coming to get cash and have heard stories about the stores running out of the necessities and lines at the gas station.

It's kind of crazy to think that in a matter of a week NY has been hit with an earthquake and now a hurricane. I guess my argument of "no natural disasters besides blizzards happening" is now a moot point :scared1:

Hopefully Irene will be downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reaches NH because we're in the path too. We're expecting a lot of rain (and possible flooding) and power outages from the wind, but hopefully we won't have serious damage.

I hope everyone south of us makes out OK!

I have to say - 'I love our DIS family!' We can share our laughter and silliness, as well as our sorrows, struggles and fears. Hang tough this weekend, everyone!

A jean-yus! Cool! I always thunk I could amount to sumpin'. :goodvibes

So, about that driving right into the hurricane thing....

that's not too jean-yus. :sad2:

Be safe!!!

Jackie, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

She has a lot of friends from all over thinking of her. I hope that is of some comfort to her and to the kids.

Everybody also think of Marc and Anita as they get ready for Marc's surgery tomorrow. We hope he feels better very quickly.

I am going to hope this is my last 'bad' thing for this week. I am very sad to have to report that a little boy that I have asked you to keep in mind in the past on other reports, Crew, the grandson of our school's speech pathologist, died today. He was a beautiful little blonde-haired three year old boy with a very sick body. He has an older brother and a younger one who will not get to have the privilege of growing up with him. Please keep this sweet family in your thoughts, as well.

This has not been one of the best weeks of my life, but as much heartache as there has been and as much as may come ahead, I know who holds today, tomorrow, and forever, and I am good with that.

I don't have it in me tonight to put up trip pictures, but I will try to do that tomorrow. Take care of yourselves and rejoice in today, everyone, no matter what your circumstance. It truly will be okay.

Jackie, we all send our love & best wishes. MeMom, I'm glad you've been in touch with her, I'm sure that has helped. My heart breaks for her.

I'm also so sorry for that sweet little boy. I'll pray for his parents & family. God bless them all.

Jackie and I have texted back and forth while her mom had been so sick. This has really taken it's toll on her. At this point it seems so unfair that her mom is gone so young. My heart is breaking for her....

Thank You for opening up your report, so we can share our sorrows, struggles and fear, as well as our laughter and silliness. :goodvibes

If I ever get to be President of Disney World, I'll fix the bus stop numbers.

And I'll give free premium annual passes away to all of my friends.
And their families. ;)

What a great future President. :goodvibes

I have to admit, I had a crummy week but I know many others had much worse. :sad1: With this I am reminded of all the good this week.

I did not feel an earthquake and the hurricane is east of us and we were unaffected. For that I am thankful and praying that everyone is the path of Irene stays safe and she is little more than wind and rain and a minor inconvenience.

NemoClassroom2011018.jpg

Your classroom looks amazing! I love the seagulls! And yes, it does look like coral on the bottom. You creativity never ceases to amaze me.

This is not just cute.

It's STINKIN' CUTE! :cutie:

How very nice of Ed to have those FPs for you! This past trip as I was in the stampede to TSM a CM on the left side near the DHS arch was passing out FPs for ToT and RNRC, so I grabbed those and got TSM ones, then I met the boys over at Star Tours. It was an awesome morning! :thumbsup2

We stayed at OKW this trip (during the last half), and while I don't recall what bus stop we were, I do know it was NOT close to the entrance. It was all the way down the far side, last stop. It seems they move them around quite a bit!

Sending out thoughts and prayers for all who are in the path of this storm. We sincerely hope you guys make it through with no damage to anything or anyone.
Keep us posted, please, as the weekend goes along.
Storm Central right here. :thumbsup2

Thank you MeMom! I will try to remember to check-in here. I will be Facebooking for sure to keep people updated and will check-in on my report. We are directly in the path. The clouds of Irene actually are currently over Florida AND NYC at the same time. We've been watching the radar and listening to the radio. Henry is aware a "big storm" is coming and that we might lose power. The stores have been busy, but we are stocked. Tomorrow I am going to run to the library in the AM to pick up a few books for Henry so we have something new to read, and finish charging up the batteries. Then we are ready!

I noticed her Facebook Wall getting a lot of comments today and put two and two together. I did not realize her Mom was ill. This is very sad news. Definitely keeping her in my prayers.

Wow. What a week!

I didn't realize Marc was having surgery either! I miss being out of the DIS loop! I need to catch up! ;)

Prayers for Crew's family too - I cannot even wrap my head about the pain of losing a child. I need to go give my baby a big hug right now!

Next week will be better.

I'm so sorry to hear about Jackie's mother. That is so heartbreaking. :sad1:
And I'm also sorry to hear about Crew. Such a shame.
I wish Marc a quick recovery!
What a week. :sad2:
The last sentence of your post was very inspiring! We have Irene coming our way but this post reminded me that it's not the end of the world.
I will keep everyone in my prayers :grouphug:
