Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Darn work getting in the way of my DIS time -- I was ten pages behind!!!

I have to make up some games to go with my Little Green Men. I've been too busy to think about it lately, so if you have any ideas, let me know. They will be a special center that can only be 'checked out' from me, because I don't want the LGM's to start disappearing, and I know they will be tempting for some.

I shall start thinking, but since I don't teach math, my ideas might be limited to things like how many groups of three do you need to make 27. ;)

I'm going to need EXTRA MAGICAL DIS Baby wishes on your next trip. I don't know how you can make them extra magical but we could use all the pixie dust we can get.:upsidedow

Say WHAT, LL??? You think you can just sneak that in and the rest of us won't notice???;)

MeMom, I want to ride Great Movie Ride with you but you have to do that exact narration!! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

::yes::

I am so mad that I have missed the elephant saying that before -- I guess I need to listen much more carefully next time -- although, I suspect I won't hear him until MeMom is sitting next to me.

I need prayers for my nephew one of his roommates, friend and co-worker died Tuesday. They are not sure of the cause yet, but he seemed to be in perfect health ate healthy, work out everyday etc. He was 27 years old. Please keep my nephew and the roommate's family in your prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about this, Elaine!

It has been a very exciting week around here. Brooklynn had a great time in Kindergarten. The only person who was upset about her new school adventure was Bella. Bella was at already at her school on Wednesday and Thursday when Brooklynn was dropped off so she didn't know any different, however, on Friday she was with me when I dropped Brooklynn off. As we walked out of the building Bella started crying and pouting "I not like kinagaden!"

Poor little sweet pea. :(

Brooklynn lost her first tooth this afternoon (with lots of drama. Really you would of thought I was amputating her foot without anesthesia).

:rotfl: I have a girl that acts like that, too! ;) Congrats to Brooklyn on her first visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Okay, other things I want to comment on...

Yeay for Jarvis having a girlfriend! She is super cute!

Love the pictures of Brooklyn and Bella with Bo! See, Bella just instinctively knew that Bo was a nice guy! ;)

Hurray for Brooklyn starting kindergarten and having a great day! Such sweet photos of her through the years!

Okay, I about fell off my chair laughing over the Hag having to do Vinylmation commercials! How far they fall! :lmao:

Congratulations to Brooklynn on starting kindergarten!! What an exciting time! :cool1:

And her first tooth this week too. I hope the tooth fairy found her last night. She sometimes forgets to come here... :rolleyes1 She brings a gold $1 coin and a book at our house. :thumbsup2 Sometimes we think she forgot but then lo & behold, she has left her gifts under a different pillow in our house. ;)

I just wanted to say on this lovely Sunday morning:

I am so happy I've met you all, whether here or on person. It's nice to have friends who "get" the Disney bug & our love of Walt and what he created. Being that it's Sunday, it got me thinking about who & what I'm thankful for, and I just wanted to let you all know I'm thankful for you. :)

Have a great Sunday!!

I have to chime in on this one. We have never stayed in anything but a deluxe resort or off property house on all of our Disney trips. This time around I have chosen to stay at POP because of your TR's and Poolrats TR's. We could have stayed deluxe again, but I wanted to try something different. It looks like a fun resort for the kids. I honest think my only complaint is going to be full size beds and maybe noise, but I know that going into it. Disney is not about how much money you have, it's about family...and enjoying your family. If people can't do that, then don't come to Disney. Stay home and be miserable. Deluxe or value, it doesn't matter. Grumpy has no value, it's just an unfortunate state of mind.

funny pic to come of how I chose to pay for this upcoming trip too. gotta switch computers. :rolleyes1

How I paid for our next Disney trip.
IMG_0465.jpg

DH is a company owner. We are not rich but not poor either. I didn't have to do this to pay for our trip but the change was there so why not. ;)
See you too can go to Disney for just pennies per day.:rotfl:

MeMom-I just hit a milestone that I want to share with you! I just officially became a "DIS Veteran!" I made my very first post on one of your past reports and have been an avid follower ever since. Thank you for always making me feel welcome. I also want to thank you for sharing your experiences and beautiful family with us.

Congratulations on becoming a DIS Veteran! We should have a party!!! :dance3:

I will tell you, it really is an honor when someone says that they made their first post on one of our reports. It does make us feel like our whole group - family and DIS friends - is doing the right thing and putting forth the right friendly, inviting feeling here. That's the way we want it to be.

I also made my very first post on one of your reports. I can't believe I have been reading along for three years and have gotten to know so many great people!

Yea I have a computer again. Brooklynn's pictures were so cute. She is getting so big. Is she ready for school tomorrow?

We will be eating that chicken dinner 1 week from tonight! Hopefully I will have time to get a new phone for FB pics before I leave!

We get back on sat the 20th and the kids start school on Monday. I start school meetings on the 29th and the teaching on the wednesday after labor day. This summer has flown by!

Have a great day back to all the Dis teachers!!

Also, in Brooklynn growing up news. The tooth fairy will be visiting our house tonight. Brooklynn lost her first tooth this afternoon (with lots of drama. Really you would of thought I was amputating her foot without anesthesia).

:goodvibes I still remember clear as day when I lost my first tooth! I bet Brooklynn will too! It's very dramatic when they come out, but the loot from the tooth fairy makes it better! Wow she is such a grown up!

The mom went into the 'I brung you to Disney World and all you want to do is play with the d--- chairs. Let's go!"

I was very glad when they finally gathered their entire crew and made their way out. :)

Well, you can still have "brung" your clan to WDW and behave with class and manners! I agree though, you cannot base your opinion on value resorts on those people - they are everywhere!:headache: And there are many lovely people who stay at value resorts - like you and your family and many other dis-friends! And for the record, they should be glad that their children can find fun in the small things in life!

How I paid for our next Disney trip.

I do this too!!:thumbsup2 I have a giant coffee can that is decorated with Disney pictures that gets filled up all year! It adds up!

:yay: for Brooklynn losing her first tooth and loving Kindergarten! My DD10 lost her first tooth while in Pre-K at almost 5 years old. We were a bit surprised, but she still freaks out when her tooth falls out and at the sight of any blood. Real fun.

Both girls get loose teeth and then they stay there, loose, for weeks! It's like they won't want them to come out. Now DD8 is looking at some dental work/orthodontia because one of her permanent teeth is so far back, and they want to pull 4 baby teeth (the eye teeth) and they are not remotely loose. DD refuses to discuss it and says, "THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PULL ANY OF MY TEETH!!!" We'll wait a bit...

DD10 is needing to get fitted for her braces soon too.

So the fun for Brooklynn is just getting started. I hope she never needs braces, and can just enjoy the Tooth Fair for now! We did gifts and a couple gold dollar coins with the first tooth, now it's just a gold dollar coin. A neighbor girl slept over here this weekend and she had lost her tooth that day. So I asked, what does the tooth fairy bring at your house? Last tooth for her and for her sister, each got $3!!! Of course, she brought her tooth, and put it under the pillow at our house!!! $3 was left by the tooth fairy. I think her parents owe me a drink.

Hope the second week of school goes as well as the first!:teacher:

Ughhh I definitely dislike annoying people at Disney. We're all on vacation, don't decide that your trip is more important than everyone else's.

Yay for the tooth fairy!!!!

You know, I truthfully don't even pay attention to the people around me most of the time. I mean, I am aware that they are there, and I am courteous, but I am usually so zoned in on my group and the good time we're having that I don't notice other people being rude or annoying. This just happened to be in an uncrowded area, and they were particularly loud, so that's why I even noticed. Along with Jill having told me what she said to ther, of course. ;)

You think our shared love of all things Disney would bring people together, regardless of where we choose to stay!
I'm pretty sure Walt would be saddened to think there were those who weren't able to be courteous to others whilst in our happy place

I recall a man one time coming up to watch the High School Musical thing, I think it was, at Hollywood, and he walked right through the group and stood smack in front of a couple of little kids that were sitting at the rope line. He spread his legs out a little and crossed his arms and just stood there, totally oblivious to the fact that he was practically stepping on the kids that had been sitting there. I think he just caught up in the excitement, but I have never forgotten him standing there, nor the looks on the faces of everyone around.

Marc is actually working on a some of the technical aspects of one of my power points for tomorrow night.
I have my BIG paper written and now three small ones to do. UGH!
No visions of straight As this time around. (so I'm telling myself) I get the raise either way!

Stringbean&Wingnut, I always tell Marc, oh just let them have their fun, we will be back and this is probably their one and only trip.... We just walk away laughing or sometimes shaking our heads.

Marc's doing the hard part, and you're hanging jellyfish. :rolleyes1
I know which one I'd rather be doing. ::yes::

The room looks great on the phone pictures. I look forward to seeing the bigger pictures and seeing more details. My stuff is all over the kitchen right now. It's a Wilderness Lodge Meets Nemo theme - until tonight, when I load it all up in the car ready to be ready to go in the morning.

You had a lot to catch up on. We missed you while you were at school this week. I'll be back in full swing tomorrow, too. :sad1: It's been fun while it has lasted. :goodvibes

My Math problems will have to be very simple, believe me! :teacher:

Write down all the pearls of wisdom you learn from raising Chelsea to share with Jill when Brooklynn gets a little older. :thumbsup2

Congratulations to Brooklynn on starting kindergarten!! What an exciting time!

And her first tooth this week too. I hope the tooth fairy found her last night. She sometimes forgets to come here... She brings a gold $1 coin and a book at our house. Sometimes we think she forgot but then lo & behold, she has left her gifts under a different pillow in our house.

Well, this was the first tooth, so the Fairy was very careful to do it all exactly right this time. Our Fairy forgot with one of mine one time, too, but I remembered it in the morning. I'm guessing it was with Jill. After the first couple of teeth, I don't think the boys even did the Tooth Fairy thing any more.

Oh that is SO true! Preach, Anita!

Miss Anita Wigd - wife, mother, Mimi, teacher, President of MAW School of Enabling, and now a preacher, too! Goodness!!!

Yep, this is a good place to find people who really do get it. It is fun to find friends with this common love for ::MickeyMo and the fun it brings to our lives. We're happy to count you among our DIS friends.

It will be interesting to see what you think of Pop. Is it great to stay in nicer places? Yes! Did we feel very special while staying at WL, AKL, and SSR? No doubt. It would be easy to get used to that. They are all so nice. We could stay in those regularly if we chose not to go as often, but we'd rather stay value and go more often. If money was not a factor, admittedly we would stay 'higher' on the ladder, because those places are awesome!

How I paid for our next Disney trip.

That's great! Thanks for sharing that. Jill has a coin jar, too, and it is exciting when it is time to count it before a Disney trip.

I also made my very first post on one of your reports. I can't believe I have been reading along for three years and have gotten to know so many great people!

We are blessed to have friends from all over this country and from other countries, too, because of this forum. It's wild when you think about it. Count how many people you would not know if you hadn't found the DIS! Life wouldn't be nearly as fun without all of you guys!

Yea I have a computer again. Brooklynn's pictures were so cute. She is getting so big. Is she ready for school tomorrow?

Well, hopefully we can bring some respect to the value crowd. ;) We try, anyway, as country as we are.

Another coin collector! Yay! :cool1: It all adds up to fun, no matter how small it starts out. :thumbsup2

I'm coming back to clarify a comment I made earlier....
Just in case anyone takes it the wrong way.

When I said the POP trashies.
I meant THOSE people Jill was talking about. Not people that stay at POP!
It doesn't matter where you stay, you are bound to run into the best and worst of people.
Sometimes I just get worked up and get a case of flying fingers!
OK, I got that off my chest. I'm going out to the frozen yogurt bar and having a cold one!!!

YUP procrastinating on the homework again...:rolleyes1

So glad to hear that Brooklyn had a great week at kindergarten! And Bella is too sweet missing her sister.

Good for Jill for taking the chairs even though that idiot told her not too. I would have totally done the same thing. I'm rebellious like that!

Memom, I don't know why some folks here on the DIS have that opinion about people who stay at the values. I recently read a thread here on the DIS and certain people began trashing others who stay at value resorts. I found that shocking. I have stayed at 2 value resorts and thought both of them were great and I am the type that WILL NOT stay at a dumpy hotel. I can't imagine people thinking that you are poor if you are staying at a value. We chose to stay there b/c we knew we would be spending minimal time at the resort and it wasn't worth the cost to "upgrade". I will also add that the worst behaved people I have ever encountered on Disney property were staying at a deluxe resort. And for the record, I think anyone who can afford a trip of ANY kind to Disney cannot be classified as poor. Poor is when you go to bed hungry at night, not when you can't afford concierge level at the Grand Floridian. And I don't see how money and couth are connected anyway. In my book, a super snooty person is just as repulsive as a tobacco spittin' redneck any day!

Anita: Don't worry! I don't think anyone here thought you were trashing value folks! We know you better than that. :)

You just have to keep a red washcloth handy when blood is involved. Red on red is not nearly as scary as seing a bloody white washcloth. ;) Jill said the tooth right beside that one is loose now. Too bad it had to be her bottom instead of her two cracked top ones first. :upsidedow

You had to be the tooth fairy for someone else? That's different. If the kid had only known, she could have said her Tooth Fairy brought ten dollars!

Sorry to hear you'll be paying for braces soon.

Nobody here will think badly of you, as long as you are buying a round of frozen yogurts for all of us. :jumping1:

I never even thought about there being a 'class' system when I first started reading these boards, but I came across a deluxe person saying they wouldn't go to WDW if they had to stay value - they'd just save longer and go deluxe. That's fine. Everyone has different things they want from a vacation. Some people want more luxury and less trips, some want more trips and less luxury, and some are fortunate enough to have both without it being a big deal.

The people we spent NYE and 4th of July with on the Poly beach go several times a year and always stay at Poly. They are not one bit 'uppity'. They are just plain old folks and welcomed everyone to come over and join them. They are so nice to share the webcam when they so, too, so others can enjoy it. He owns his own business, and I am sure they are used to the finer things in life, but they are just the nicest people.

I can't really recall seeing anybody extremely poorly behaved on our trips. Sometimes big kids and teenagers will invade the kiddie pool and it gets a little dangerous, but they never stay long. Sometimes people smoke in places they shouldn't, and that's kind of annoying. Other than this lady and her group, I don't know that I have really seen any real ugliness. Jill might be able to refresh my memory, but if I have seen really bad things, I have forgotten it.

I think everyone knew who you were refering too. No hard feeling here. I'm all for saving a dollar and I'm all for trying something new.

Every dollar counts when it comes to a Disney trip! :thumbsup2
I want to stay at Caribbean Beach for a couple of nights at the end of a trip on the next few years, but I don't know when that will be. Next summer, we will probably spend a night at Vero with Marc and Anita, so that will be new for us. When we can get a good rate on an AoA suite, we'll do that for a couple of nights, or we'll wait until Little Mermaid opens and get two rooms there. Maybe CBR in 2014?

And let me add from before, Jill has a coin jar, but her savings has never come up to anything close to what you had there! That was really a big-time haul for you! :dance3:

It's almost time to get in line for Fantasmic, but first we will go meet John here.

I remember now that he had gone to ride that while we did GMR.

The girls got an ice cream treat before getting in line. They sat here to eat.

I went to get a couple of glasses of ice water for us to have while we waited in line.

Pizzas waiting for pizza eaters to come along.

We went to Cracker Barrel AFTER the frozen yogurt... Just so you know.

That's fine - you can buy us all Cracker Barrel, too. I'll have chicken and dumplings, please, with green beans and fried apples.

No, make that corn instead of apples.

No, oh....just skip me and go on to someone else while I think a minute. :)

P.S. Those papers are not going to write themselves.
Just so you know. ;)

Ooooo... time for Fantasmic! Such a great show and don't down yourself, MeMom, you take MUCH better pictures than my camera would for that show. I never got to use it, but based on the ones taken with my mom's camera, it would be bad. :sad2: And I like how you got most of your photos from the princess sequence, so pretty :goodvibes

I bet this looks familiar.

disneysummmmer297.jpg

I love this picture, I pretty much ignored the Fantasmic crowd because of the intimidating building behind it. Love Tower of Terror! (: Has Brooklynn been on that one? Or is she not tall enough for ToT yet?
