Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Love the pics of the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. We actually didn't get to ride it this last trip. It's the only ride I wanted to do with Seth that we didn't get to do. The line was just too long - 30+ minutes every time we checked it and that's too long for Seth to wait. He was at the stage where he wasn't quite walking on his own yet, but didn't want to be held either. And I wasn't about to let him get down and crawl around on the dirty ground. So if a wait was more than about 10 minutes, we pretty much nixed it. So considering that, I think we did pretty good b/c we rode everything else I wanted him to. We were gonna get FPs a couple of times for Pooh but it never worked out.

Now these girls, they can get scary.

Love them!

Then we saw Fairy Godmother.
Look how close Bella is! :woohoo:

OMG.....those cinnamon rolls are the size of Seth's head!

Not the most nutritious breakfast in the world, but it's a Disney vacation, and it's what you do sometimes, right? ;)[/QUOTE]

I'll have what Jill's having!

Good morning! I hope you have a great day off. I have today and then I get to enjoy my boys for 4 days. Yes, I had a rough day yesterday. I think it was an accumulation of patients getting bad news lately. The last straw came yesterday. I have a very sweet patient that has battled both breast and ovarian cancer in the past. She had chemo, hysterectomy and even had a bilateral mastectomy to prevent having cancer again. Well, this week she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer again. My heart aches for her right now. She has tried so hard to live and it seems like it was inevitable. I love being a doctor, but I do get a lot more sadness than the usual profession.
Back to happy things. I love the pics of Bella with Mary Poppins and the Fairy Godmother. She is so cute and hesitant!

Cara, I'm so sorry about your sad day. I can't imagine how hard that would have been to deliver that kind of news to a dear patient...
 Hugs to you.
I hope today was better.

Hi MeMom,
I'm setting the timer here in 15 minute intervals so that we get in some quality cleaning time...:rolleyes1
and some quality goofing off time.
I'll start chopping and prepping for our meal that will take place at noon as that was when my dear grandmother always had Thanksgiving had our family.
We'll have most of the kids, and my mom. Keeley will be with Kyle's family until they stop over later for leftovers. I'll make her a fresh pot of her favorite dumplings.

I know that I WILL enjoy my time off from school!
Loving the countdown until our trip!!!

I have never seen a cinnamon roll that quite compares to that one! :scared1: But you know cinnamon has many, many health benefits. :rolleyes1 That's kind of like ice cream having plenty of calcium! It's vacation, eat, ride and be merry! :thumbsup2

We are just like your family in that we like to find little quiet places to hide away for a few minutes of peace to have a snack or a meal. The balcony above Pinnochio's is another good one, and the upstairs 'bridge' of CHH. Those are our regular spots, but I'll have to try yours next time.

Bella's faces when she sees Mary Poppins are so funny. It would be so fun to be able to see what thoughts are going through little one's heads sometimes.

I am KICKING myself now for not going into the bakery when I saw no line. That all looks so good.

What time were these pics taken? I can't believe how empty everything looks. We were there for RD last Monday and Friday and there were people everywhere!

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so happy for you, and I sure hope it works out for you to go - especially when you can overlap Meg by a day and get together with her down there for a ride or two.

It is always nice to have a day to recuperate after a trip. We don't always do that, and it's rough to go straight back to work.

I will be doing some cleaning around here today, but right now I am enjoying not having to get up and get ready for school. :goodvibes

I definitely hope we can overlap at least for a day! We had so much fun when we met up there the first time!

Yup, it was really bad last Feb. I got home around 10:00 PM and had to get up for school the next day. Between my senior year laziness/exhaustion and my post-Disney depression, I really didn't wanna be there :rotfl:

 I'll take a chocolate croissant please! I tried to make my own chocolate croissant type thing the other day. We had some Pillsury crescent rolls and I melted some chocolate chips on one. It wasn't very good :rotfl: The grocery store we go to has them sometimes. They don't taste anything like the Disney version :sad2:

Since I'm seeing another Choc. Croissant lover up there. I'll break in and say that Arby's has a chocolate turnover that isn't too bad...
In fact it's pretty good!:goodvibes

Looks like the same type of breakfast we get at the Main Street Bakery!!!

I think Arby's chocolate turnovers are a good alternative. We have a new little "french" bakery at the Mall of America that had some good-looking chocolate croissants, but I have yet to partake.

Bella is so cute with Fairy Godmother and Mary Poppins!!

We decided to clean part of the house today. Just so we could start decorating!!! We have put up my Disney village downstairs (where all the Disney Christmas decorations go). And tonight we are doing the other village.

I'm so happy to have 4 days off!! Unfortunately, DH only gets tomorrow and then Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am sorry to hear about your patient. We all have our rough roads at different times in different ways. Some have physical issues, some financial issues, some mental issues - so many trials we have here on Earth. This is a tough time to hear bad news, too, and then to try and have a 'happy' holiday season for the family.

Since I am not an early riser, I have only had the pleasure of seeing an empty Fantasyland in pictures. Wow!! I can't get over it!! Lots of stuff I don't notice when it is wall to wall people or dark!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Hope it is a great day full of family, food and fun!

Yeah, I guess swarms of people tend to cover up some of the details. I like getting empty street pictures. :thumbsup2

Happy Thanksgiving back to you and yours!

What do you mean cinnamon rolls aren't a nutritious breakfast??? They are in my book.

I'm not sure what my favorite MSB treat is. I think I might like the banana bread or apple turnovers best. Since they have fruit in them, they're the best choices, right? ;)

Very LARGE cinnamon rollls - yes. ::yes::

When is your next trip planned? Maybe you'll have more time on the next trip so you can do more. I'm thinking you just stayed 3-4 days on the October one. Is that right?

Not the most nutritious breakfast in the world, but it's a Disney vacation, and it's what you do sometimes, right?

Yep. :goodvibes

I cleaned in spurts, too. I had to get the downstairs straightened up so that we can have a big room to hang out in this weekend.

Hope you guys have a great family day tomorrow. My boys will be off with friends, and Jill will be at the in-laws, so I'll be chillin' on the homefront. I'll make the big meal Saturday.

Yes, I remember the healthiness of ice cream whenever I have a bowl of it for dinner when I come home late for school. When I don't have much time at home in the evening, I have to choose between dinner and dessert, and sometimes ice cream wins. :)

Maybe the new part of Fantasyland will open up some new quiet places, too.

Bella's faces when she sees Mary Poppins are so funny. It would be so fun to be able to see what thoughts are going through little one's heads sometimes.

Yes, word bubbles would be nice. She claims she's going to talk to characters and hug them on this trip! :woohoo:

Rope drop for us when we can - it's the best time for walking on rides and doing them twice when we want to. :thumbsup2 This was the week of 4th of July. I think it was about the 6th, maybe.

The worst we have ever done is getting in about 1-2 a.m. and having to be at work in the morning. Not good at all. No, no, no!

I saw some chocolate croissants that could be ordered from Williams-Sonoma. They might taste like the Bakery ones, but they are costly.

Since I'm seeing another Choc. Croissant lover up there. I'll break in and say that Arby's has a chocolate turnover that isn't too bad...

I did not know that. I don't know if Jill does, either. We'll have to try them.

I will be enjoying the decorations of others this year. I'm skipping decorations, since I'll be traveling.

Jill and I still want to make a trip to Mall of America one of these days. You will meet us there, right?

Well the computer monitor is working:) just a loose cord.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family. Enjoy your break from school.

I will be cooking as usual tomorrow & will have my MIL, her beau & my brother in law so there will be 7 of us.

Friday is the usual putting up the Christmas tree & making turkey soup.:goodvibes

When is your next trip planned? Maybe you'll have more time on the next trip so you can do more. I'm thinking you just stayed 3-4 days on the October one. Is that right?

No, we actually stayed over a week. We stayed at All-Star Sports Thursday-Sunday and then at VWL Sunday-Friday. And I know you guys can't believe this but I want to wait awhile to go back. We just need to be smarter about our money now that Seth's in our world and we're going to tone down the vacations for awhile. And I'm happy with going every other year, honestly. I think that's more than most people get to go and it's plenty for me right now. We both agree that once Seth can tell us, "I want to go to Disney this year," we'll try our best to make it happen as often as we can. But until that time we are just going to aim for every other year. Our next trip is already booked. But Ray is sitting that one out. It's going to be me, Seth, my mom, Ray's sister and Ray's nephew. They really want to see the Harry Potter stuff at Universal (and so do I), so we're going to stay off site to save money and do Universal for 1 day and Disney for 3 days. Oh, and it's going to be May 2013. I believe the dates are May 19-24 but I'm not positive. I don't know if you remember the condo we stayed in during our December 2008 trip when we came with Anna, Chris and Luke, but we're getting a condo with the same guy....3 bedrooms, gorgeous, 5 minutes from Disney and only $119 per night. :thumbsup2 And then Ray, Seth and I are going back in December 2015, probably staying at WL again. I wanna go back to see the Christmas stuff again. Seth will be 5 then and I'm sure he will love it! In the meantime I will continue to live vicariously through everyone on the disboards. :)

Well I could certainly go for a cinnamon roll and a meeting with Mary Poppins right about now!:goodvibes Bella's faces with Mary are hysterical! By the looks of things you had the Magic Kingdom all to yourselves that morning!

Hope all of you Dis-folks have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Let me know when you're coming. I'm all of 20 minutes from there!!! I will meet any DISer at MOA if you come!! They just opened the new Disney store and a Vera Bradley store this fall. (in case someone needed any incentive...)

Good to know it was a quick fix. I am having to get a new school phone, because of cord issues. The cord is falling out of the receiver all of the sudden. Not sure why.

Have a great day with your family!

You stayed longer than I thought. Much of my last three months was a blur, though, so I know my memory of anybody's trip times was not accurate.

Sounds like you have a good plan worked out. Now that Brooklynn is in school, we won't be going as often, either. It just won't be as easy to work around all of the adult schedules and hers and get a bunch of trips in. I would really like to still get three in a year, but I think it's going to be more like 1-2.

The price on the condo is awesome! :thumbsup2

We didn't have to share with too many people for the first hour or so. When the crowds start to build, that's when we make our way to other places. :)

I hope all of of DIStown has a wonderful holiday weekend, as well!

Let me know when you're coming. I'm all of 20 minutes from there!!! I will meet any DISer at MOA if you come!! They just opened the new Disney store and a Vera Bradley store this fall. (in case someone needed any incentive...)

We've been talking about this for a couple of years, but it seems like whenever we get time, we always head south. One day, we will go north. ::yes:: We will let you know if we head that way. Jill has been once, I think - with a friend when she was in high school. Trent has been to Minnesota with a friend, too, but not to Mall of America.

We wish all of our DIS friends a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend filled with family, friends, fun, and food!
(And football, for some.)

Since food is such a big part of today, that will be today's theme for Disney pictures.

All of that was from Thanksgiving 2008 in Disney World. You guys enjoy your meals today, wherever you are and treasure your family time.

Hey, cinnamon is full of antioxidants, and since those are chock-full of it, I'd say your breakfast was plenty healthy! :thumbsup2

I never knew you could go inside Caseys to eat breakfast! Thanks for the great tip!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!! Those treats look awesome! (especially the cakes!)
