Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Maybe you will take a Photopass picture, but it will be of my clan, not me! Not a PP person yet has been successfull in the attempt to get me in one of those!

I shall try!

Hi Memom! I just wanted to let you know that my family and I just returned from a wonderful stay at your beloved Pop Century :goodvibes Big thumbs up on all of the Mom's Night Out meals! :thumbsup2 The beautiful Christmas tree was up Tuesday. Unfortunately, I have no pics of it because our camera was destroyed after it decided to take a swim in one of our drinks while waiting in line to meet Alice in jolly England. But I returned with some beautiful memories with my family! We were all SO sad to leave - especially since we have no concrete return date. Our AP's expire at the end of the month and we are not renewing. We may wait for the Fantasyland expansion to be completed (or most of it) before we visit again, but that seems so far away. Though they do seem to be making very good progress...

The kids talked me into putting up our Christmas Trees last night. The tradition is that I buy us all new pajamas for the night we put up our trees. We wear our pj's, bake cookies, light the tree, and watch a Christmas movie. Growing up, we always put our tree up on Thanksgiving night.

Very much fun! What movie did you watch? I don't have the TV on a lot, especially on weeknights, but I have been turning it on lately to have the Christmas movies going in the background. This week, when I have time to do nothing, I will watch some of them all the way through. :thumbsup2

And about those cookies, nice DIStown neighbors share. ;)

Knock, knock.

Oh, that must be you and your boys now! :woohoo:

Dollywood was fun last night. The boys saw Santa Claus and had their picture taken. We saw beautiful Christmas lights and we rode rides. The funniest part of the evening was Jason. We rode the Polar Express 3D ride. It was okay, but not great. After the ride, Jason said "Disney would have done it much better". I cracked up because he is slowly warming to Disney and does not even know it. That is my evil plan.

Hope you have a great two days at school. Cooper has one day of work today and tomorrow is Grandparent's day. Jason and his Dad are going and Blake is coming to work with me. That should be interesting. He has been known to knock on the door when I am in patient rooms before.

We would absolutely go into the Dollywood experience knowing it would not be Disney World. Since we had Opryland, we're thinking it would be similar to that. Did you ever go to Opryland?

One school day down and one to go. I think we can do it. It has been so much easier since my last evaluation was over anyway. Plus, this is a group that is really fun to be with - soooo much easier than last year's group. I won't say I bounce in every morning, but I don't fight myself to go in the door, either. :goodvibes

Yay for Grandparents' Day. They will have such a good time together. :lovestruc

That's it! The tree is going up this week! Maybe tomorrow after work! Thanksgiving is long done here in Canada but I will be in Indiana to celebrate it again, meaning it definitely won't be on the weekend! I wish I were heading to wdw for Christmas...lucky folks! I think the lights on Cinderella's Castle are just gorgeous! Someday I'll get back there at Christmas time!

We had actually thought about doing Thanksgiving again this year, but then people started mentioning another NYE meet, so we change it. We get more time at Christmas, too, so that is better. :thumbsup2

Have safe travels and a fun week with family and friends!

BTW, I forgot to mention in my last post about the Jungle Cruise meet. We are getting to WDW on 12/30. We arrive around 2 pm. Could we make it an early evening meet? Around 5-6? If that does not work for others, that is okay.

I don't think we have any set plans, so I think we are good for that. We'll talk more along the way.

They're definitely something I'll be grabbing whenever I go to Target (and I go to Target a lot.) I found them with the stocking stuffer-type things.

We arrive January 4th. My mom read about the Osborne Lights being up till January 7th on the DIS, and double checked the official Disney website to make sure. The same person who posted about the Osborne Lights said that the castle lights will still be up, but we haven't been able to find anything official about that, so we're just keeping our fingers crossed.

I saw that Lana got her Magical Express mail the other day. That means we should be getting ours in the next couple of weeks!

We got our Magical Express stuff last week. Beautiful things, those tags. :) I hope they keep everything up until you see it all!

YAY for Christmas in Disney :santa: When Chris and I move to FL, that's definitely something I want to do! Isn't Christmas just EXTRA merrier when it's mixed with Disney World?

Enjoy your last day of school and a nice 5 day weekend. We have to go Wednesday too, not sure why but it stinks! You deserve the break

We had one year that we got the whole week off. Before that, kids got out W-Th-F, and teachers had a work day Wed. So many teachers skipped out on that. Now it is everyone gets out the three days. Had we been going to WDW, I would have skipped out on these two days, so that we could have had more time.

I shall try!

The colors of theMain Street shops are pretty, aren't they? They've just been repainted recently, so they looked good.

I thought about the handprint turkey, but I figured they have done that at least 2-3 times already by the time they hit second grade. I was looking for something they could display on their tables, really, but I never found anything. It has been raining here, but if it stops today, we can go find pine cones and do turkeys, maybe.

So glad to hear about your trip. I know you are missing it already.

We are so excited about the progress of Fantasyland. We keep tabs on it from our Dumbo flights. We'll be taking our last rides on that Dumbo on this trip, since it is scheduled to close on the 9th.

That's awful about your camera! :sad1:

Here's another little taste of a Disney Christmas for you this morning, if you are getting into the holiday mood. (Not that I skip Thanksgiving, because I treasure it, but just to enjoy a little overall holiday spirit.)

Disney Christmas pictures definitely help start the day off right :thumbsup2

I'm hoping when we're there next year for our honeymoon we'll catch the beginning of all the Christmas decorations since we'll be there until November 10. MVMCP started on the 8th this year so I think we have a decent chance of seeing some stuff. Until then, your pictures and TR will get me through!

Happy last day before Thanksgiving break! :goodvibes

What a great way to start the day! :santa: :goodvibes

Hurrah for getting your Magical Express tags. That always makes it even more real! :yay:

You are certainly treating us with all these beautiful Christmas photo's. I really wanted to go to Disney in the lead up to Christmas ,but Callum(my DH), says he just can't get his head round going when it's not super hot. We normally go May/June time. I hope you guy's are all looking forward to Thanksgiving and spending time with family and friends. Callum works for an American based company, so he is looking forward to a slightly less busy work schedule with regards to online meetings etc..All his big bosses in North Carolina will hopefully be taking the time off work (he's hoping:rotfl:.)I hope the weather picks up so you can go out and collect pine cones.

Sigh, you had to post those AKL trees, didn't you, MeMom? I want my tree to look like theirs! :goodvibes

Happy Last Day of School Before Thanksgiving! May the children behave for you, and may you have a lovely day! ::yes::

Love the Christmas pics this morning! I know Jackie really loved the AK ones. I hope you have a relaxing day before break. My Blake is at work with me right now. Cross fingers that it goes well.:lmao:

I'm loving the holiday photos! I'm so ready to decorate for Christmas. We are putting our tree up on Thursday.

Thanks for all those Christmas photos! They're making me VERY excited to go see most of that stuff in person in just a few weeks! :cool1:

We got a pin code yesterday!!! :dance3: 35% off deluxe resorts, 30% off moderate, and 25% off value. I'm still hoping for this January trip!!! My mom said if we go it'll probably be last minute because of her work schedule. We might not know until two weeks away  That horrifies the OCD part of me :rotfl: But that would also mean an extra short wait. If we get some idea of when we might go in the next couple weeks I might make a couple of ADR's just in case. I'm really hoping for Jan 7-13 or something like that. Then we'd make it for the Osborne lights :cloud9: And we'd overlap with Meg :thumbsup2 I also don't go back to school until the 23rd so I'd have some time to recuperate. I hate having to go back the day after we get home :faint:

I just realized that I have less than a month of the semester left  After tomorrow I have two more weeks of class, then exams the next week, and that's it. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with myself for a month :rotfl: Well actually yes I do. Finish all of the projects I started over the summer and never finished  Like cleaning and re-organizing my room. I was really productive up until my mom had her surgery and then I didn't get anything else done after that :rolleyes1

So I've decided (more like I've been in busy/in denial) that I miss you guys and I'm going to attempt to do better to keep up with this TR. I don't know that I'll attempt to go back and read the entire thing, but jumping on here is better than nothing, right?

He seems to have lost his following.

LastofDisneySummer2011030.jpg

Poor Stitch.

I meant to quote it but I couldn't remember which one it was....the picture with Bella on Dumbo was super cute! :goodvibes

It's never too early for Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year, so why not stretch it out! ;) I love all the Disney Christmas pictures. I'd love to go to every resort at Christmas and just stroll around looking at the decorations. They each have their own unique style and I like them all. And Disney has the best ornaments, don't they? They are so big!

Thanks for spreading some Christmas cheer. Keep it coming. :flower3:

I'm with Rinky, it's never too early for Christmas! I love seeing any and all of the photos. I am so sad this year to not be going back this year. We get out on the 20th of Dec. next year so I already put a bug in John's ear about going. We'll see how that pans out!:rolleyes1

I know you are glad to be done today! We still have to go tomorrow but it is an early release day. We still serve lunch so I looked up today what time we have to go- 10:05!!:scared1: I think instead of my sandwich I will take some pancakes!

Enjoy your days off!!

Love the Disney Christmas pictures! This is my absolute favorite time of year. The preschool closes at 2 instead of 5:30 tomorrow, so I am there till they close and then closing my store. And since the preschool is in a high school, the kids have been following the school's "spirit week" for the annual Thanksgiving day football game. Yesterday was pajama day, today was "wacky tacky" day, and tomorrow is spirit day, so we're taking the kids around the high school to see it all decorated for the game. What's funny is that the high school I work at is actually MY old high school's rival! The Thanksgiving game is always this high school versus my old high school. I'm very excited for the holiday!

Happy last day before Thanksgiving break!

I think you will see some decorations. They pretty much go straight from Halloween to Christmas, from what I have read/heard. We were there in mid-November one year, and Christmas decorations were going strong.

The two day work week was nice. Hope your last day goes smoothly. My student teacher was ready to get out of there. He's not really a little kid person, and they wear him out!

What a great way to start the day!

Hurrah for getting your Magical Express tags. That always makes it even more real!

I have only one tag, though, since we're not flying Southwest this time. This will be my first experience with AirTran, and I am a little hesitant about it. I have my comfort zone with flying. I'll just be glad to get there without driving, though, so I will do it.

As nice as it is to be able to go when it is warm enough to enjoy the pools for sure, it is also nice to stand in lines without being so hot. There are good things to be said for trips during all of the seasons - swimming in the summer, not so hot in the fall, holiday decorations, spring 'aliveness' - that's why my ideal schedule would be 4 trips per year. :thumbsup2

I'm glad your husband will get some relief this week. Most of our people should be stuffing themselves with mass quantities of food all week, sleeping, watching football, shopping, etc. - enough to not be needing him to work so much. :)

It never stopped raining, so the pinecone turkeys never came to life. The kids were happy with some coloring sheets and a stack of construction paper. I just let them make whatever they wanted to, and they were perfectly content.

Sigh, you had to post those AKL trees, didn't you, MeMom? I want my tree to look like theirs!

Happy Last Day of School Before Thanksgiving! May the children behave for you, and may you have a lovely day!

The kids were very good. A two day work week sure is nice. One day you start, and the next day you finish. Very nice!

I think you deserve at least a small AK tree. You could get a 2-3 footer and start collecting ornaments a few at a time. :thumbsup2

Love the Christmas pics this morning! I know Jackie really loved the AK ones. I hope you have a relaxing day before break. My Blake is at work with me right now. Cross fingers that it goes well.

I had a good day. I saw your FB post, though, and I know that yours was not as good. I am sorry for the sad news you had to give people. I don't know if having Blake with you on the ride home made it easier or harder for you. Maybe easier to divert your attention or maybe harder because you wanted to hug him and cry for the other family.

I'm loving the holiday photos! I'm so ready to decorate for Christmas. We are putting our tree up on Thursday.

And what an exciting year it will be for you guys as you celebrate a new addition! :cool1: Imagine what next year holds!!! :woohoo:

Nobody does Christmas like Disney!

I'm so happy for you, and I sure hope it works out for you to go - especially when you can overlap Meg by a day and get together with her down there for a ride or two.

It is always nice to have a day to recuperate after a trip. We don't always do that, and it's rough to go straight back to work.

I will be doing some cleaning around here today, but right now I am enjoying not having to get up and get ready for school. :goodvibes

Life keeps us busy, but we're always glad to have old friends and new join in when they can. Some people drift away and leave us forever, and we do miss them and wonder what happened to make them not want to come around. :sad1:

Have a great week with your family!

I like to resort hop, as you know, but especially so at Christmas. I want to get to as many resorts as possible during our December stay.

I'm just hitting random albums and picking out the Christmas pictures, so it will be a mix of resorts and parks. I'll try to do them every few days. :santa:

Pancakes sound good. Maybe that's what I will have this morning, since I have time to make them. Which shall I have- blueberry or chocolate chip???

I was just telling my student teacher this yesterday - October, November, and December are the fun months in an elementary school. When we come back in January, the looong boring part begins. January, February, and March are miserable. We are saved by an occasional snow day to break up the stretch, but when spring break finally gets here, teachers are running out the doors!

Enjoy your break this weekend!

More time in Fantasyland.

Notice Brooklynn has made her way back to us for a ride. After that, I think she and John took off to ride Space Mountain, maybe, because the rest of the pictures are of just Jill and Bella.

We saw Mary Poppins.

Would Bella like to see her?

Maybe not.

Maybe so.

LastofDisneySummer2011062.jpg

Maybe she's not too scary.

LastofDisneySummer2011063.jpg

Now these girls, they can get scary.

Then we saw Fairy Godmother.

I will leave you with a Main Street Bakery breakfast.

LastofDisneySummer2011073.jpg

Not the most nutritious breakfast in the world, but it's a Disney vacation, and it's what you do sometimes, right? ;)

Good morning! I hope you have a great day off. I have today and then I get to enjoy my boys for 4 days. Yes, I had a rough day yesterday. I think it was an accumulation of patients getting bad news lately. The last straw came yesterday. I have a very sweet patient that has battled both breast and ovarian cancer in the past. She had chemo, hysterectomy and even had a bilateral mastectomy to prevent having cancer again. Well, this week she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer again. My heart aches for her right now. She has tried so hard to live and it seems like it was inevitable. I love being a doctor, but I do get a lot more sadness than the usual profession.
Back to happy things. I love the pics of Bella with Mary Poppins and the Fairy Godmother. She is so cute and hesitant!

Since I am not an early riser, I have only had the pleasure of seeing an empty Fantasyland in pictures. Wow!! I can't get over it!! Lots of stuff I don't notice when it is wall to wall people or dark!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Hope it is a great day full of family, food and fun! :goodvibes
