Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Glad you had a great Thanksgiving. We rested yesterday and may go shopping in Pigeon Forge today. You can add me to the list of adults obsessed with the monorail.:rotfl: Did you take any pics from this weekend?

Monorail obsessed here too. I do have the Monorail playset around my Christmas tree.

I saw your antenna topper. I hope no one swipes it. That's the only bad thing about those decorations - a lot of people report them being taken. Maybe you could fit it on your dashboard somehow, if you have that fear. Do you have a Disney Christmas CD to listen to? I saw that Target had a cheap one. The Candlelight Processional from WDW with Phylicia Rashad narrating is awesome. I would love to have a Voices of Liberty Christmas CD, but I don't know if they have one. I'm going to check when we are there this time.

I've worried about it getting swiped, too. Hopefully, not. I have been lucky so far with the others, so I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed.

I have one Disney Christmas CD, but I would love one from the parks. Maybe, I will go browse on ebay for one...

I have Baylor to thank for the Monorail set that I have to surround my tree that isn't going up this year.....
I remember the year that he just HAD to have it so we dragged that thing back on the plane....
He played with it one time.
Now it's mine.
I especially love it when I put up my Grandmother's old aluminum tree. Somehow it just looks so Epcot!

I love that you adopted from Vietnam! I really wanted to adopt again, and I almost did once. I had a ten year old 'picked out' from the waiting child list. I was just too poor at the time, though, and I knew he deserved to go to someone with so much more to give him. I will never forget wanting him, though. :sad1: I think my biggest regret in life is not having all the kids I wanted to have. I wanted at least 5. After my ex-husband left me pretty much high and dry with three, I did well just to keep our heads above water. Now that mine are grown, though, I really do regret not figuring out a way to get the money to adopt again. I love big families!

Funny that you mention your daughter's obsession with the monorail. Two grown women I know cough*Jill*cough*me*cough were talking just yesterday about how much we wanted to buy the monorail playset to put around our Christmas trees. ;)

You can absolutely join us in DIStown! :woohoo:

I really wish that we had done it sooner -if we had, we probably would have adopted again. But, Vietnam closed soon after we got home, and China is a big huge mess!!!! We are both a little older and we really want to be able to do things for her (financially and physically) so we have decided to only have one. My biggest concern though with us being older is that later down the road she won't have a sibling for support. She is an only grandchild on both sides, so she won't have a big family in later years. :guilty:

We bought her the monorail set last year - we asked if she wanted the castle playset, but no she only wanted the monorail one. She still plays with it quite often :thumbsup2 She loves princesses (especially Belle), but her absolute favorite character is Thomas the train - i just don't understand - he's not even a Disney character :confused3 ;)

I am a buyer for a women's apparel chain - maybe i could be in merchandising for all the fun stuff in the DIStown general store :)

Thanks again for the warm welcome!!!

I wonder if Charles would pass out if I quietly purchased a monorail to go around the Christmas tree for when we're living together...

I'll have to check Target for that Disney Christmas CD. Anything Disney AND Christmas is a must-have for me!

 Hey MeMom! I'm back! Goodness, I was way behind! I broke down and bought a new computer and I will finish my classes and clinicals this week. So, that means a little more time to Dis. Not much though because now I have to start getting ready for state boards. Then I will be studying to get into the next step for Nursing school. I think I may be to old for all this infomation.:)
Anyway, I really enjoyed all the updates and seeing the girls. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. And a even better Christmas! And speaking of Christmas we won't be making the NYE meet. I will be tied up with all my Nursing "stuff". So disappointed but it has to be that way. I look forward to seeing and hearing all about it through you report.
Gotta go hit the books....... Talk to you soon.

You know what? I did not take one picture this weekend! I set the camera out, but then I got busy cooking and playing with the girls and talking and listening to everyone who was in and out, and I never did get pictures.

Monorail obsessed here too. I do have the Monorail playset around my Christmas tree.

I will be looking at it again next month. I want the Contemporary for it to run through, too. ;)

The Candlelight Processional is a good one.

I want it - it just depends on how much it costs as to whether I will ever really own it. ;) The trouble is, I want it and the Contemporary together. (Where is the greedy smiley?) I could put a Mickey wreath on the outside of the Contemporary. :santa:

I'm sure she will have tons of friends to be close to, then, since there will be no siblings. And DIStown is full of young'uns, as you may have seen! :jumping1:

Yes, you can take care of clothes for DIStown. We will surely need to have some clothes!

Charles would shake his head and roll his eyes at the monorail,

but he would not be surprised at all. :goodvibes

Maybe you can get a Christmas CD on your trip. Christmas is still going to be going strong when you get there, I think.

I am glad you have a new computer. We don't like not hearing from our friends for so long.

Thanksgiving was good. When Jill was packing up to go today, Bella thought we were going to the airport. We had to explain that we have four more weeks, and of course, she doesn't know what a week is. I told Jill she may have to make a countdown calendar just for Bella, since she is asking about going every day!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Good luck with the next few weeks of school. Almost time for an extended break, plus a Disney trip for you, MeMom :goodvibes

From our last shopping spree at The Emporium on the last day of the trip.

This is one of my 40th souvenirs. I can't remember if I got it in March or on the summer trip. Anyway, I liked it, and I got it.

This would also make a nice, practical souvenir.

I turned both of those in Photobucket, so I hope they right themselves soon.

Disney DVD's bring happiness at home. They are easy to pack and can be used over and over. :thumbsup2

I was texting you to tell you to come back and look at the wedding stuff, and I erased you by accident! Text me your number again. I have done that to a couple of other people, too. I have to get a phone that makes it not so easy to erase - for dummies like me. :sad2:

Just returned your PM and came over to check it out! You're not a dummy! Cell phones do crazy things sometimes and aren't always the most user friendly ;)

Chris and I bought those "kookie pens" over the summer for people to sign our guestbook with! We plan on picking up some more stuff when we're there in Jan/Feb...thanks for posting all of that :thumbsup2

I love your shopping pics. I have been making shopping lists since I discovered your trip reports. I didn't get everything on the list when we were there in September, but I sure did give it a try. I really regret not getting more of the 40th anniversary merchandise especially since we were in the MK on October 1st.

So cute that Bella is so excited to go on her next trip. There is nothing like a child's enthusiasm of an upcoming trip to the world...or an adult's for that matter. :)

I am a little sad that I won't be making it to Disney to help celebrate its 40th (and stock up on souvenirs), but I will not miss its 50th! :goodvibes

I found the Holiday Wishes CD on ebay this morning. There was a Candlelight Processional one, too, but it was very pricey. I will wait on that one until I can buy it on a trip.

Ok those Thanksgiving food-themed photos have made me hungry! Between that and shopping pictures I definitely need something indulgent now! Chocolate....where are you....????:rolleyes1  I'm glad you all had a nice Thanksgiving!

Yes on the ASSports picture. If you get a chance, walk to the other two All-Stars, too, to see their trees. Each one is appropriately themed. We've stayed at Sports twice - once in the Surfs Up building and once in the Tennis building.

We ate our big meal yesterday. I think everyone stuffed themselves sufficiently with chicken and dumplings, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, dressing, green beans, peas, corn, cranberry salad, and rolls. ;)

Sounds great! I actually have stayed at both of the other All Stars before, but only Movies at Christmas time! I'd love to see Music in all its Christmas glory. This will me my first time at Sports (not sure if I said that before!) and I'm hoping for the Surf section. It looks cute!

Sounds like a great meal! I LOVE chicken and dumplins. :)

I always love looking at your shopping pictures. Hoping they'll have still have some 40th stuff in a couple weeks!

I'm back! The last few weeks were a zoo but I'm caught up now. :)

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. We had a great weekend - everyone was home except my brother in CA, but we Skyped with him a few times so that was nice. As of today, I'm a mere 5 weeks from my trip!! Ahh! It'll go fast, I know.

I loved all the Christmas pictures! One of these years, I will spend Christmas day at WDW.

MeMom, Disney Shopping's website is having Cyber Monday sales today. Have you checked those out??

Now I've got a hankerin' for chicken and dumplins!!! Back when I was a new, young, underpaid attorney, I worked a second job at Cracker Barrel and ate that all the time!!! I took that job to pay for a trip to London/Scotland. That's also where I met my husband.

Now I'm an old underpaid attorney working a second job at selling Pampered Chef. Also to pay for a trip to London/Paris. Still have the husband. ;)

But I digress. The nearest Cracker Barrel is 40 minutes away. :( God forbid I actually MAKE my own!!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Sheree, that's too funny!

We've never eaten at a Cracker Barrel (gasp) but recently DH told me that since it's buzzed about on the DIS so much (he "secretly" reads dining reports over my shoulder sometimes) we should give it a try.

We've always though it was on the same level as a Denny's (which here in Canada are naaaaasty) but he's beginning to think we must be misinformed about that...are we?

We are flying "home" to Ontario for Christmas so we'll be in Seattle for the flight in a couple of weeks. Do you think we should make a point of eating there?

MeMom, those merchandise pics are great! I'm loving the fact that you're taking note of the prices on some things. We'll be in Disneyland in July and I'm thinking I'll need at least $200 for souvies!!

I think I need a Disney themed kitchen! Everything is so cute!
